The chicken salad was really good on light buttery croissants. The black cod stew was also very good. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding for desserts. Though delicious, it took awhile, so take that into consideration when ordering. No tipping. Gratuity is already rolled into the prices of the meals. I wish more restaurants will do this.

The roasted cauliflower was another standout, with the pistachios adding great texture and flavor. The roasted carrots were also delicious and paired beautifully with the goat cheese. One of our favorite dishes of the evening was the chicken liver pâté. It was rich, smooth, and incredibly flavorful. My only suggestion would be a few more pickled onions to provide just a touch more acidity and balance. The morel risotto was probably our least favorite dish. The texture was wonderfully creamy, but it felt a bit under-seasoned and could have used a little more depth of flavor. The roasted half chicken was outstanding. The skin was perfectly crisp while the meat remained juicy and tender. It paired wonderfully with the chimichurri sauce and cranberry beans. If I were to change one thing, I might swap out the roasted romaine for something like sautéed kale or another hearty green that would complement the dish a bit better. For dessert, we had the dark chocolate and pistachio terrine. It was rich and satisfying, though I think an extra sprinkle of flaky salt would have elevated the flavors even further. Overall, Ramble delivers thoughtful, well-executed food in a welcoming setting. While a couple of dishes could use minor tweaks, the meal was excellent from start to finish. This spot is a true island treasure, and I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again.

While it definitely has the local hangout vibe, everyone has always been friendly and welcoming to us. They have a nice covered patio in the back with some cool decorations and plenty of seating. This was a nice place to hang out during the summer when it was warm. There are heaters out there now that the weather has turned and it is still just as enjoyable. The inside is friendly and welcoming, too. Most times, the regulars hang out in the area nearest the bar. There is always friendly banter going on while music or local sports are on in the background. There are also plenty of tables in the dining room if you prefer a bit more space. We haven't made it out early enough to try much of the menu, but Caz sure makes a tasty BLT and a bacon cinnamon roll that you'll definitely want to try! Overall, the bar staff is what brings us back to Sporty's, week after week. Both Caz and Kristen are very friendly and fun to talk to. They always make us feel like family even though we are not island locals. Because of them, we have made Sporty's one of our favorite weekly date night adventures. *If you're coming from the Tacoma side, make sure you leave by 10:30 so you can catch the last ferry home.

And now in hindsight, I'm going to presume that what they called corn beef was probably some pink slime aggregate that was marketed under that name given seasoning and whatever else. I tried to beat some of the flavor by having a little bit of someone else's pancake, but whatever was in the pancake batter just tasted like VOCs and other assorted chemistry I wish I was joking. If I was, my gut wouldn't feel like the absolute cesspool that it has become trying to pass this ***slop. The juices were delicious and offered different flavor profiles (I liked the spicy one a LOT). The oat cookies were an awesome ending to the meal. She told us there was a seasonal pumpkin curry(?) coming soon, and we were sad to be missing it. The staff member went above and beyond catering to us, and even stored our leftovers when we went on a bike tour of the island. This is one of the few places I have been to that feels community-based, and I wish there were more restaurants like it. There is some seating out front with umbrellas for shade. They make the most out of the space they have, and I will definitely be returning the next time we visit Seattle.
