We bought a blueberry muffin and a croissant with lemon curd on it. Huge! Delicious! The cashier was friendly and gentleman that prepared our coffees were both very friendly. They have a wonderful home cooked type menu, next time we are dining in. You could see into the kitchen and it definitely looks like a working kitchen, you can see the baking equipment and ingredients. The dining area is eclectic and from the outside as you enter you are taken into what felt like a big cozy living room . At Casa Bonita there are specials, like beef tongue, which I think was a bit dry (but wow, you don't see tongue on the menu at any other Vashon restaurant. To be great Casa Bonita would need to expand the ingredients to more kinds of chilies and as someone else suggested, up the quality and variety of tequila. The margarita's are fine - but again, not GREAT. You are never going to have a great basic margarita using a mix. There is an option for house lime juice which is a bit acidic. Orange liqueur could be "house made" - no need for Cointreau, and the bottom shelf stuff tastes like a jolly rancher. But maybe we should step back and consider what a "Mexican Restaurant" is..

Perfectly cooked pasta with bold flavors. We got their risotto special and oh my gosh, was it ever so flavorful and full of different textures. Crispy, salty cubes of guanciale; the veggie broth-infused, perfectly al dente risotto; and the creamy mildness of the mascarpone made for perfect bites of pure yum! And that Caesar salad...sooooo yummy! Each bite was like biting into a cloud of goodness. The soft, freshly grated parm was so delightful. And the lemon zest just put it over the edge! When I travel I have a tradition of getting pizza from a local place on the first night. I saw reviews for different pizza places and there were two clear contenders. I chose this place because the reviews were good, but specifically because the slices were described as New York style - by actual east coast transplants. They were right! I thought I was going to get a whole pizza but honestly it was not necessary. I got three slices of pepperoni and they were massive. HUGE slices with a nice thin crust. The server behind the counter was kind and patient with me as a first time visitor. I liked the vibe of the place too - small, fun, hole in the wall you might have frequented in college or after bar hopping or something. I will always recommend spending your money at small businesses like this one. Keep the community strong by spending your dollars locally. Great people and great pizza!

Our waitress was really nice but she was running around non-stop doing everything. We had to flag her down a few times. The dishes had good portions. I ordered the classic egg plate and the sausage patties were a bit too salty. My friend ordered the pancake plate and they loved it. Said it was really fluffy and delicious. Another friend ordered their omelet and that was huge too. He also enjoyed his meal.
