Mushroom Swiss quiche and spicy chai latte.
Lynne P.

The service was excellent and the owner and Haley were so fun. Mushroom Swiss quiche and spicy chai latte. The crust was flaky and the quiche was so savory delicious. The chai latte was made with oat milk and just the perfect spice blend. The restaurant is very accommodating to any guest request with alternative dairy options. Great place to stop to relax or grab a quick option to go.

Great consistent spot on the Island! That being said, there are a few dishes that are consistently delicious - the Reuben (the mushroom version is great, but the meat one is my favorite sandwich here) and any of the espresso drinks. The staff are personable, the Wi-Fi is good, and the noise level is pretty low. So grab your coffee beverage of choice, sit down, and work away. And if you're still there at lunchtime, get the Reuben. And take half of it home, because it's a big sandwich and you'll want that other half later.

Decided to make our first trip to Vashon Island on a Tuesday. Alot of the eateries are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We were hungry and so we decided to try Cafe Luna. They were absolutely jammed with orders, but everyone was extremely nice. I had the turkey Panini and my partner had the grilled tuna. Both plates were absolutely wonderful as they came with a side of chips and a pickle. We just sat here and took our time eating and can't wait to come back! Thank you for making our first experience for eating on Vashon Island a good one!

The breakfast blueberry muffin was disappointing, but my adventure partner says the bacon-cheese frittata (large muffin size) was great. We returned for lunch because I wanted to try the mushroom Reuben - it was excellent (although the mushrooms were unexpectedly spicy). My partner had the pastrami Reuben and was not blown away, but enjoyed it.

Not the best quality drink I've had and very overpriced. I honestly hope things get better.

Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind and welcoming, especially Jennifer. * Casual and quaint retro diner vibe. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. * Fries were really good, crispy and lightly battered. * Hand dipped corn dogs were tasty. * "Fun size" meals are a great option and come with a tiny ice cream cone, which is a nice touch. * Self serve drinks and condiments (I personally like being able to get things myself, and everything was clean and stocked.) * Two private restrooms (no stalls/single occupancy) + indoor and outdoor seating options What fell short: * The biggest downside is the price. I understand there's an "island premium," but the value just didn't match the steep cost. * Burger was okay, but the patty felt small for the price. * Onion rings were not good. They had thick, undercooked onion and chewy breading. * The chicken bites were extremely dry. They were edible, but I'd honestly take just about any other fast food nugget over these. That's especially disappointing because they looked like they started with decent quality white meat. My kid took one bite and pushed the rest away, which is a first for anything breaded and fried. Overall, the service was great and we enjoyed the family friendly setup, but the prices and inconsistent food quality make it hard to justify coming back regularly.

French fries were good with the variety of sauces available at the front. cannot even choose which one was my favorite because all of them tasted really yummy. u serve yourself, so make sure when at the front, u get ready to bring a lot of things back to your table by hand. Corn dog was delicious, too. first time having this type of food in a long time since i last had it when i was in elementary schools Hot dog inside thoroughly cooked and was warm for a long time. must try with the sauces! I love that I was able to exchange the "itty bitty ice cream" for a milkshake. Staff was very accommodating and let me combine 2 flavors with the milkshake. Flavors had classic options, but also unique ones like chai as a choice. the tiny ice cream makes this combo not worth the price because you are paying for so little food. The drink is also in a baby cup that you can refill unlimitedly, but still not much to satisfy the hunger. typical soda flavors at the fountain. but, shoutout to the staff for helping to make tweaks to my order so I could get the "most out of my buck". They even serve it to u, but not the condiments :( I wish that they did orientation to all guests who ordered upfront on where everything is so that they have sides prepared. I do like the color scheme of this restaurant because it fits well with the American diner aesthetic, but I wish that there was more wall decoration that alluded to the vashon island history.

Of course I keep forgetting to take a picture of my coffee, but I'm gonna tell you all about it…read more This is the first (and only, so far) place I've gotten coffee on the island, but I can't bring myself to try anywhere else yet. They had a sign up the first day that advertised a rose honey latte special, and I love all of that, so I ordered it large and iced. It was amazing. I like my lattes with flavor, but I also want to be able to take the coffee and get a balance. If my coffee doesn't taste like coffee, it's too sweet. I could taste all the elements here and it's clear they use good, high-quality ingredients. They even topped it with rose petals! One day I strayed and ordered one of their specialty mochas, which I am generally hesitant to order because they're often way too sweet. I saw they use Holy Kakow syrup and know that's pretty good stuff. The mocha was really good, but also over $9 for a large before tip. That's my main complaint about this is that it's expensive. That being said, it's Vashon Island and most everything is super expensive. My large, iced latte is under $8 before tip and that feels more justifiable. This is overall a really cool place to check out with some cool history. The tea selection is absolutely amazing, though I'm too much of a coffee person to try it.

When you walk in, you're immediately hit with the smell of the roasted coffee beans, and you can see them roasting the beans from inside the shop. So cool! They have a wall of teas, a case of baked goods, and so much more that I probably even missed some things, like checking out the bookstore. I was feeling a bit worn from my travels so I decided on a Golden Mylk instead of opting for coffee. The Golden Mylk was a perfect blend of spices and creaminess. Very cozy, warm, and the perfect drink for a cloudy day. I also tried the Vashon Fog which was delicious. Not too sweet, and you could taste the tea over the milk, it didn't taste watered down. You have to check them out if you visit Vashon island!
