My sister and I found this place on our way to the lake about a month ago. It's a bit out of the way for us but we go multiple times a week. We love the service, the coffee and teas are always great (I get the lavender chai) and the food is so good (recommend the bacon cheddar biscuits and granola). There is a .50 charge for cards but it also costs them to process card transactions, most cafes do this. Just bad coffee and clueless barista. I ordered a iced white chocolate americano with cream and received it warm with 4 ice cubes almost completely melted. I am a barista myself and know and iced americano is just shots, flavor, a splash of cream and the rest ice. It should be VERY full of ice. It was burnt shots and Luke warm and the barista asked what the other drink was 5 times after being told repeatedly. Just not good at all. read more

Yikes... I can't recommend anything from this coffee stand. My husband's drip coffee tasted like water. My americano was made incorrectly. I so badly wanted to like the muffin we ordered but it was very, very dry. The barista seemed annoyed that we were even there. You'd be wise to just keep driving. read more

It's great having this little place so close to where I live. All the ladies I've ordered from have been great. Really friendly and a couple of them even remember what we like to order. Amazing coffee, so much better than some of the bigger coffee places. I always order the same and want it screaming hot and they are always accommodating. Well Ravensara has decided to start charging $.50 fee for using a card now, even debit cards! We learned this today on our visit, AFTER our card was charged, apparently it's a new added fee, customers could be told upfront and not have to rely on a little sign at the window mixed in with the so many signs they have! Our family understands the economy. Everyone has to make a living things are expensive where do you draw the line when businesses put their fees on their customers? What is Ravensara going to give its customers for the extra $.50? Nothing! So for our hard earned money, we give them an extra $.50 Penalized for using a card and for what? A medium cup of coffee? It adds up! Well, no, thank you! We are a family of 4 drivers. We have been giving them our business for quite a long time. Unfortunately, yesterday was the last visit for all of us. Just doesn't sit right with us lady at the window said we're so sorry. Well, our family hopes, the 50 Cent charge was worth losing a family of four. Never again! We as consumers need to take a stand to businesses who penalize their customers. Otherwise in the past, we never had anything negative to say about Ravensara prices keep creeping up and now with this fee we're just going to make our coffees and teas at home. It's so much cheaper. I am a fan of the baker here but the barista is beyond trash. Not all of them but the curly haired girl. He attitude was horrible and even after she asked if I wanted whip and I said no, she still proceeded to put it on anyway. When I reminded her she grabbed my drink back with an attitude and scraped it off. Never again! read more

Stopped by this place on my way to the airport. Service was wonderful. We ordered a mocha latte nonfat, a regular coffee, a bran raisin muffin and a pumpkin pecan muffin. It was delicious!!! The coffee was very flavorful and the muffins were light and slightly sweet. If you are ever passing through this area I highly recommend a stop here. Okay, so, we live in an area that has a coffee shop crammed into every nook and cranny, so to stand out among the competition is no easy task. Just to give a bit of perspective; I grew up along the banks of the Mississippi River, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Unbeknown to my mom, my Italian Granny introduced my four year old self to good ole Louisiana mud; Coffee & Chicory. Since then I've liked my coffee strong, with heavy cream and sugar. Now, I usually get a mocha. That's my java background. Ravensara is one of the standouts in my opinion. The big winner for me is the coffee. You can have flair, theme's, and the cutest girls in the county, but if the coffee taste like burnt broccoli, it's an EPIC FAIL in my book. The Coffee is the star, and must come first, at all costs. Ravensara has this down. The coffee is consistently great. Not to mention that they do in fact have the cutest baristas in the county! The theme is sort of an Earthy vibe, but it's cool. Not too overbearing. The owners are really nice and friendly as well. Oh, and did I mention that there's also a bakery? Yup, fresh artisan breads, cookies, and crackers baked daily. Yes, I said Crackers. The first time I saw the sign up that today's special was fresh cheddar crackers, I was a bit skeptical. Aside from Nabisco, who makes crackers? Well, the answer is; Ravensara does! And they rock! The baker comes in each morning and makes all sorts of good things. You can actually see him working through the drive through window. My favorite, and keep in mind where I'm from, are the blueberry scones. You will not find scones in New Orleans, period. I've never been a scone fan. It's biscuit dough with fruit in it. In the NW, scones are treated like pastries, which I never got, that is, until I had a blueberry scone from Ravensara. Brilliant. He also makes something called a Morning Bun, which is similar to a cinnamon roll, without the icing. Those are also really good. So, if you find yourself out on the Key Pen, heading to one of the wonderful state parks that dot the area, Ravansara is a very worthy pit stop. Cheers! Jim read more

Seriously thank god for Ravensara! I live in Seattle and have a little beach house on the pen. They save my life for coffee, snacks, lunch, treats, and even soup, whenever I'm traveling to and from the beach house. I love love love the convenience of the drive through! And I've always had top notch service every single time. The Americanos are very good and the little sandwiches are great! I have gotten their soup a few times for a quick dinner and it's excellent. On Jan 28th I was working in Gig Harbor for the 1st time. I had a meeting with clients, and afterward, I tried to GPS my way home. This area is a black hole. NO CELL OR GPS SERVICE. So at 4pm, with pouring rain and being frustrated. I find Ravensara Espresso on a little side street. I pull in and a VERY sweet young lady greets me and asks what we can get me. (Now i hate going to a business and ask for something without buying something. Yet I was not in the mood, just wanted directions and to get on my way home) This young woman (sorry didn't get her name) was so kind she helped me find my way and then as i was about to leave she noticed my frustration and said. "Hold on one second" She came back with a scone and I said "I Didn't order this" she said "This is just to show you what a great place this is" MY MOOD CHANGED! Nice coffee, nice people, nice bakery, convenient drive-through. Definitely the best espresso spot on the Key Peninsula. That may sound like faint praise, because the Key is not exactly known as a gourmet's paradise, but Ravensara could hold its own anywhere, even in Seattle, which of course prides itself on being the world Caffeine Holyland. One small caveat, nothing to do with Ravensara itself: If you are coming from the north, be very careful making a left turn into the parking lot - it is one of the most dangerous curves on a dangerous two lane rural highway. read more

I drove by Ravensara Espresso & Bakery on Highway 302 on the Key Peninsula for nearly a year before stopping for coffee this morning. The coffee was wonderful--not bitter or burned tasting. The bakery items we bought were very tasty. I was especially excited to learn they serve organic coffee AND organic bakery items. Emily, the barista, was polite and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be visiting Ravensara again soon. If they had an "organic coffee & bakery" sign out front I would have stopped months ago. {hint to the owners} Awesome experience. Thanks for being there. read more

Hands down the best coffee shop in the gig harbor/key peninsula area! My wife and regularly went there while we lived on the key peninsula from 2006 - 2013. Since we moved to Gig Harbor city limits we don't get out there as much, but we do make the drive from time to time because it is still the best! The staff (although different throughout the years) are all amazingly nice. The food from the bakery is just as good as the coffee!!! Try an iced white chocolate vanilla mocha if you stop by there! I would HIGHLY recommend this coffee stop! read more
