Served with it was a large slice of banana bread which was a nice surprise. The latte was surprisingly delicious for a place that does not necessarily advertise itself as a coffee stop. The baked goods are unique selection of cookies, breads, and European treats like Rugelach. I picked up an apricot one to go. It was delicious with a large bit of filling and tasty pastry. This makes a nice place to stop whenever you are back and forth between Belfair and Shelton.

I could be wrong but it looks like it's the only independently owned coffee shop in town or at least in the downtown area. And it indeed shows! The line to place orders was quite long inside the place and they were also managing orders for drive thru customers. But they had the line moving steadily and got customers on their way at a pretty good pace. I'm guessing it's like this here often and they are well practiced! But there was also a church nearby and a farmers market which brought in a lot of people. I really enjoyed the Toasted Pecan Latte from their Autumn coffee menu. It was very good! Nice and smooth and the nuttiness was so pleasant as we enter into Autumn! Of course it wouldn't be a full coffee shop experience without trying out the pastries. They all look to have been made locally as in the Shelton area. I got an almond Danish which was so good and went with the coffee drink quite well! Such a nice coffee shop to hang out at. They have indoor and outdoor seating but even with that it could be a challenge to find a place to sit if it's always this popular.

That said, I have to be honest about the coffee. The roast has that almost burnt taste, similar to what you'd get from a certain big-name chain known for over-roasting in the name of "consistency." I've visited several times and used to enjoy the drinks, but that changed when I switched to unflavored lattes. As a coffee shop, the core should be the coffee itself. Once you take away the flavored syrups, you're left with the true quality of the beans and the roast, and unfortunately, that's where things fall short. Now, if flavored drinks are your thing, they do have some fun and creative combos that are definitely worth trying. But for the purists out there who love a solid latte or americano, this might not be your spot.
