Stopped here on a road trip and it exceeded my expectations! Food was excellent, large portions and very reasonably priced. Most meals about $10. Inside was clean and cozy. The lady serving was so kind and personable. Would absolutely stop here again and recommend if you're traveling down 84.

If you've driven across PA the long way, you may know that there are not a lot of options for food except fast-food chains. We happened upon this place, but didn't see any reviews. We took a chance, and I'm glad we did. Megan was an excellent server, and took care of the whole diner. She made some recommendations and brought the food quickly. It was seemingly pretty basic, but had all the right flavors. Be careful with the "side" of waffle fries... they are huge. Cool, cozy spot inside. If you are looking for a quick bite on the endless drive, Isabella's beats the chain options, hands down.

    American steak sandwich. Wow!!!

Food is always quality and great service. Simple but sweet decor. Quiet setting. Amazing deserts as well.

Small family run business. The staff is always super friendly, especially Carol. Food is always delicious and fairly priced.

Fresh, homemade and big portions! Surprised how good their pizza is for not being a pizzeria! It's a lovely place!

Mountainhome Diner has been around for years and is your typical diner with all-day breakfast available. It's clean and the staff were exactly what you want in a diner with friendliness and hospitality. I went with a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant with some well done potatoes. My friend had the scrapple with some scrambled eggs. I also had an orange juice. The orange juice I did not care for. Definitely not fresh squeezed. But the sandwich was excellent along with the potatoes. My friend also loved his coffee and scrapple with egg. My meal came to $11 not including tip. We'd come back!

The current owners since 2017 are husband and wife restaurateurs Ali and Etab Abullattif. The enormous menu features classic staples such as omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, salads, sandwiches, paninis, burgers, seafood entrees, steakhouse entrees, and various Italian specialties too numerous to mention. My family and I visited Mountainhome Diner for lunch on a recent trip to the Poconos. It was actually are last morning on our trip and we were looking for a place to grab lunch before making the drive back to Connecticut. We had driven past the diner several times on previous visits to the area, but had never visited before. We decided to give them a try. It seemed like a classic American diner that you could find just about anywhere. There's no website, no social media accounts, just good old-fashioned diner staples. The staff were friendly and accommodating and they seated us at a booth. A go-to dish that my wife and I both like to get at classic diners is a Greek salad, and Mountainhome Diner's "Big Fat Greek Salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, crumbled feta, olives, tomato, onions, peppers, grape leaves, house Greek vinegar) sounded like it was just what we were looking for. I ordered mine with gyro while my wife ordered hers with chicken. Those salads really hit the spot! For our sons, we looked to the Kids Menu. Our older son had the "Hot Dog with French fries" while our younger son had the "Chicken Fingers with French fries". They were both very happy with their dishes. We had a nice time at Mountainhome Diner and we're happy that we finally stopped in. We recommend them to anyone visiting the area!

The restaurant was full of families and adult friend groups, maybe about half and half. And honestly, I've never seen so many kids near a bar! One of the bathrooms wasn't working, so there were few bathrooms for the space, but that didn't cause us personally any issues. The menu was great. There were enough kid menu options to satisfy, and one could definitely order on the healthier or less healthy side. My avocado romaine salad was one of the best salads I can remember having in a long time: fresh ingredients and a nice portion. I tried my husband's bang bang shrimp, and I liked it a lot. The cigars special, not as much, but he was happy with it. Our waitress was very peppy and accommodating. We had a great experience overall.

It was quite cozy, an intimate space with, if I remember correctly, a fire and a woodsy feel. The staff all seemed incredibly well trained, quick, and kind. I ordered some mild garlic buffalo wings which were pretty good! There wings are only available on Thursdays and Sundays and my plate with an extra side of fries was ~$21, which I think is a suitable price.
