#76/2022 Interstate 85 sitting midway between Atlanta Georgia and Greenville South Carolina is the small little Hamlet of Carnesville, Ga. This is one of the older Petro travel centers been here for many years. Still has a full service iron skillet hours 7 days a week for the most part 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Like any other iron skillet the buffets are long gone in the post covid world and the menus are all the same everything is uniform. I came in unfortunately the girls were working as hard as I could but the truck hadn't arrived they were out of most of a lot of the dinners they had no soup but it's okay most of thier soups have onions and evil carrots anyway, there was no fish which is what I really wanted the white fish dinner they were also out of salmon and they were out of spaghetti so that eliminated chicken parm. I didn't really want a burger so I opted for the chicken fried chicken hadn't had that for a while. Similar to a chicken fried steak which is a cube Patty flattened out breaded and deep fried the chicken fried chicken is the same thing only it's a giant white meat chicken breast which is then breaded and deep fried. I've had a taste for French fries so I did go with the french fries and brown gravy on all of it didn't want the white country gravy today. Food was excellent I had no complaints at all I asked for a salad and because I'm a little fussy she pre-made it the way I wanted it just like I like it just lettuce cheese tomato cucumber croutons and I had French dressing. So because of the excellent above service and working hard even with the limited menu because there's nothing you can do about it when the truck doesn't show up till the next day you run out of stuff some people were bitching and moaning but hey more power to those particular kind of folk. So definitely and above average iron skillet I will come back here when I'm rolling on up interstate 85 towards the Carolinas out of Atlanta. My only little pet peeve but I'm not going to change the stars is TA and Petro corporation and all the restaurants for soft drinks are 350 I'm not a big water drinker with meal. So that being said it's kind of like the price of a bottle of beer LOL even though you're getting no alcohol. Why is that high I'm not too sure for a fountain drink you do get free refills but anything over about two and a quarter anymore is kind of exorbitant but it's the way it is. All and all keep up the good work this is a decent iron skillet. read more

Knew it was gonna be great when I sat at the bar and could hear the cook spazzing out the whole time..fuck this place fuck that fuck you fuck your mama..to be honest it wasn't even that busy just a few other diners..if you hate cooking don't work as a cook.but anyways the food was definitely not worth the asking price I had country fried steak that tasted like one of those hungry man microwave dinners..don't think I'll be back the service was mediocre at best..she obviously had more pressing things on her mind than her customers..shitty service..shitty tip..you decide your pay..not me...won't be back.the place over all had some kinda weird vibe..like everyone working there was miserable..like it was a concentration camp.. read more

Food is good specially for a trucker looking for something beside fast food joint. Im the only one in the restaurant. 10-15 min wait for a server to see me seating as they handle a group before me. Another 30-45 min for my order to be cooked as im watching the staff talk about there lives,as i can also over heard my server hating her life teller her self she should change jobs. customer service mad good. food mad good. didnt think it would be this great. it was pretty busy inside. ordered online. came in 35mins later. food was ready. workers were attentive and spread thin of course so have patience like me. definitely coming back. everything was fresh and quality. I ordered my food online at 11:20. The wb page said my food would be ready at 11:45. I was there at 11:40. At 11:45 I went to the cashier and sign my receipt. I waited to 12:27 to get my to go order, after I wanted my order canceled. I don't know it taste yet because my clock was running, but I should have been compensated for the wait. read more

One of the better Petro's. I was shocked that the food was this good. Well seasoned and special items that are normally just heated canned foods. Delicious homemade rolls too. Today they had liver, chicken and pork chops. Very good and the server was excellent. I'll be stopping here again. read more

Usually stop by heading out of Atlanta. Plenty of parking, the staff is always nice, and its usually clean inside. They have the buffet with soup and salad bar or you can order off the menu. Pretty much like any other Iron Skillet/Country Pride, except that they are always nice, they tend to keep the bar foods fresh and neat. read more

I probably should have known better than to order a fried fish basket at a truck stop, but how hard can it be to put frozen fish in a fryer I ask? Well... apparently WAY to hard. It took 35 minutes to serve the most disgusting meal known to man. I thought the fish must've been under cooked , that is the conclusion I came to because it was gooey and opaque. Horrified I asked if they could please cook it a moment or two longer. It only made it worse. I ended up eating the cold fries as my dinner. Stick to breakfast food or sandwiches here. Sorry My Friend!! If you see a sign on the HWY saying 12.99 Porter House Steak 20 oz.. keep on driving... The restaurant is a part of a Truck stop for truckers.. I should have though twice, but sadly the word 12.99 porter house made us hopeful.. The waitresses were nice, the biscuits were pretty good, but sadly my steak and mashed potatoes was enough to tell me it's a stop for hungry truckers who wanted to only fill their stomach, not their taste buds. My steak was strangely soft, almost tuna like, with a salty taste and nothing for my taste buds to get excited about.. The french fries which my friend ordered tasted like McDonald's fries, which I will sadly admit I liked.. My mashed potatoes were shaped like an ice cream scooper and tasted like instant mashed.. what more can I say.....keep on trucking!! read more

Oh my, where am I? Apparently I was somewhere between Atlanta and Greenville. I was using my GPS to try and find a BBQ place on the way but we saw a sign that said $12.99 for a 20 ounce steak. I should have known better. It was a giant truck stop and along with the restaurant there was a gift store and gas. Honestly the restaurant looked like a crappy Shoney's. Still, I was already in there, and hungry. I ordered the steak and it was okay. It tasted like Kroger meat and it probably would have been better if I had cooked it myself, and I am not that great at cooking. The fries were like McDonald's but much much crappier. My friend's tasted really weird and was cooked a lot more. I liked mine better because it really was medium rare and had a much better flavor. I have no idea what was wrong with hers. I would recommend avoiding this place and trying to find a hole in the wall barbecue place which was my original plan. read more

Clean restaurant and restrooms! We ordered off the menu and got hot, fresh food. When you're traveling, you're looking for a safe and clean place to stop and refuel for the rest of the trip. I don't know why this establishment only got 2 1/2 . Every place I visit starts with 5, and I deduct if there's something wrong. I can't find any fault with this place. The staff is very friendly, even when they are dealing with people who are hard to please. If you want gourmet food, don't stop here. But, this is a great example of how a truck stop restaurant should be. read more

Walked in buffet was bare and everything was burnt the restaurant was very clean and staff greeted us but the bar was just nasty looking

Place has some cleanliness issues, server was slow, 2 out of 4 meals came to the table wrong and one of those was also raw. Would NOT recommend at all. read more

This restaurant SUCKS! I've given it a few chances, the food is horrible. The wait staff is friendly, the showers are ok and I never have an issue finding a place to park at night. I'm going to stick to just parking here for the night and taking a shower. My recommendation would be you do the same. read more

Fuel island building has super clean bathrooms, new updated fixtures. And the to-go kitchen has yummy food and the people who work here are nice. Outside of facility is clean with nicely manicured landscaping. Really wish I could live here in this city where people are courteous and a pleasure to do business with. :) read more
