Great spot to get away from the hoopla of the main strip in Helen, GA but still be somewhat close…read more It's about an 8-minute drive to this cute coffee house from Helen. It seems to be a local favorite because it was pretty busy when we arrived. We got the last spot in the parking lot. The lot is not paved (dirt and mulch); however, if you have a Tesla they have two charging units in the lot. Staff are very friendly and inviting and they do a good job of cleaning and maintaining the coffee station and customer seating areas. Prices are competitive to other businesses in the area, although the coffee is a bit expensive in my opinion, but it is delicious. I ordered an Americano and it was one probably the best one we had on our whole trip. Nancy and I both ordered coffee's, the Americano was $5.75 and her Coffee of the Day was $4.00. For our breakfast we decided on the Bacon Quiche $7.50 and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit $6.95 to share. The Quiche was on point; it was much better than the Biscuit Sandwich. Don't get me wrong both items tasted yummy it's just the biscuit was quite dry. Nancy had to ask for Jelly to spruce it up. They didn't charge extra for the jelly and after adding the jelly the sandwich was actually the bomb; something for the menu development team to ponder. There is not a lot of seating here but it seems most customers are in and out quick except for a few that are working on laptops and whatnot. All-in-all, a great spot for a quick breakfast or brunch and fresh ground and deliciously brewed coffee. I recommend them if you are in the area.

Our family has eaten here for so many years that we cant even remember how long it been. However…read moreover the last few years we have watched this staple of Royston go downhill very badly. We have had to returned orders while in dine in, called about incorrect or low quality orders when we get home, I have even more recently begun or had family begin checking orders before we leave. Tonight I sent someone unaware of the issues to pick up our order. The double with bacon burger that I ordered and paid extra for was a single w/o bacon, my tater tots were instead fries, and they forgot our two orders of cole slaw. I called and after getting unthoughtout excuses from a young lady I then spoke to the owner Lee who just acted like an disinterested, dismissive and disrespectful prick, I normally would have taken up for Lee but his behavior was inexcusable I told him if that's how he chooses to act he's lost a few customers...he never asked who he was speaking to and dont think he knew so his responce was....and....I dont care...I guess we wont be seeing you again....I would say he had a bad day but his unwilling to right the issue or even right our name down to take care of it later. Had he.....he likley would have realized the family he was talking to. He didn't know who he was talking to as we are a very big family in the area and have a long history with his place. He has likely lost about 50 family members in one fatal swoop, Hes lost our families businesses ever ordering from him again. After his behavior and lack of interest in fixing anything and him allowing his business to faulter at the expense of his customers I suspect he will continue to lose more and more each day. Lee we wish you well from a distance.... but take for granted what God gives you and he will take it from you

Arrived at Strickland's late one morning for breakfast. The Yelp ratings set high expectations,…read morewhich were thoroughly met. We were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant is plainly decorated with about a dozen tables. We timed our visit perfectly since it seemed that soon after we arrived the lunch crowd began arriving, which quickly created a wait. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, which cooked perfectly and were topped with a well-executed béarnaise sauce. We also ordered a Meat-Lover's Omelette that was generously stuffed with various meats. We also ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes that were light and fluffy in the middle with slightly-crisp edges. Delicious all around. Service was attentive and efficient. The staff seemed to have multiple roles as you would expect in a small/family-run restaurant. I highly recommend you stop here for breakfast or lunch and enjoy delicious food in a simple atmosphere.
