Okay... So, I've never actually been to the location, why I didn't want to do a review... but I've had a lot of their food. Mostly their chicken sandwich and fries in the form of take out/pick up. Royston Drive-In has been my replacer for hometown easy to grab chicken sandwich fixes for awhile now since getting burned a little by another local eatery in terms of.. well, their chicken. No puns intended. No one was burned by a chicken sandwich. Anyways, Royston Drive-In has been consistently good. Why I'd like to give them credit where it's due. Plus, they're also one of the places outside of the regular fast food stops that are generally open and in the area. Royston is infamously hard to figure out sometimes when and what is open. Monday is the new Sunday is all I got. As for that Chicken Sandwich. Keep up the good work. I know it's about the same as fast food, but it works and I'm happy with it. read more

Our family has eaten here for so many years that we cant even remember how long it been. However over the last few years we have watched this staple of Royston go downhill very badly. We have had to returned orders while in dine in, called about incorrect or low quality orders when we get home, I have even more recently begun or had family begin checking orders before we leave. Tonight I sent someone unaware of the issues to pick up our order. The double with bacon burger that I ordered and paid extra for was a single w/o bacon, my tater tots were instead fries, and they forgot our two orders of cole slaw. I called and after getting unthoughtout excuses from a young lady I then spoke to the owner Lee who just acted like an disinterested, dismissive and disrespectful prick, I normally would have taken up for Lee but his behavior was inexcusable I told him if that's how he chooses to act he's lost a few customers...he never asked who he was speaking to and dont think he knew so his responce was....and....I dont care...I guess we wont be seeing you again....I would say he had a bad day but his unwilling to right the issue or even right our name down to take care of it later. Had he.....he likley would have realized the family he was talking to. He didn't know who he was talking to as we are a very big family in the area and have a long history with his place. He has likely lost about 50 family members in one fatal swoop, Hes lost our families businesses ever ordering from him again. After his behavior and lack of interest in fixing anything and him allowing his business to faulter at the expense of his customers I suspect he will continue to lose more and more each day. The food is always spot on! We love the chili cheese burgers and fries ! Hamburger steaks are amazing as well! I really love to eat here often! I love the slaw dogs and crinkle cut fries. I go probably 2 a month. Their slaw is perfect with mayo salt and pepper only. William ate something. I don't remember. LOL my go to place for hotdog cravings. read more

The burgers are not what I call huge. They are big around but the meat is kinda flat. That being said all things considered, it's better quality and a bigger quantity of food than a fast food place but for the same price or less. And the wait staff is very attentive. This is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in. The bathroom is worse than the worse gas station bathroom you can think of. I do not think the bathroom has been cleaned since the place opened. I can only assume there are no county employees conducting any restaurant health and safety inspections. This restaurant would be closed down in any other county. I lost my appetite before I even ordered. Since the friends I was with were hungry and this was the first place to eat that we came up on in 20 miles, we stayed. I ordered a very well done hamburger that was extra thin. The burger came straight out of a box of frozen burgers, you know the kind, the ones that cost about $3.99 for a box of 400 patties. The atmosphere is great, but my dad is allergic to onions, so he ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard, when he got the meal it had onions on it. He sent it back, and they just scrapped the onions off and brought it back. He took a bite, could still taste onion and they were very nice and made a whole new burger. My husband and I were in the Royston area around lunchtime and came across this quaint little hometown restaurant. We really didn't know what to expect, but boy were we pleasantly surprised! They have the most delicious cheeseburgers (made fresh) and the best tasting homemade coleslaw I've had in awhile. Our server could not have been friendlier. My husband recommended this place and I didn't have high hopes but I was so surprised! I had a grilled baked ham & cheese sandwich on toast and tator tots and it was DELICIOUS! It wasn't even on the menu & they made it for me. They have something for everyone. The ham was so tender. They even have hoop cheese. My husband loves their burgers & club sandwiches. Fries are great to. And our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The food was inexpensive. No wonder this place has been in business so long! We will be coming back often. The food was really good but the service was HORRIBLE! The waitress Linda was rude & completely unprofessional when we walked in she was sitting at a table eat @ reading the news paper. It took her more then 10 minutes to get our drink order. She was slow rude & never came back to check on us after she brought our food. So the next time we came back we came at night on a Friday & that server was just as bad think her name was Becky or Becka something like that. We sat there for about 15 mins & before she came to us another couple came in & she ran right up to them ignoring us. I hope the owner & manager find new waitresses before these two completely tank the business! read more
