Market 50 - Fresh bread and plenty of sandwich makings!

A deli ,a shop , very local and a bit on the honor system where you get a bag and write down what you want on a sandwich to eat ,pick a drink and sit and enjoy. So 6 of us came in, found a table, got our orders into the box and waited for our names to be called. Only took five minutes or so, and each one of our orders was called and you go up and pick it up and head back to the table. Maybe pick up some cake , or anything else you desire but I got a turkey Panini with everything on it and it was super !!! a side of potato salad, and some chips for some reason and I was stuffed. The kids ate well., and we even bought some lasagnas and a chicken casserole to take home for my daughter to eat with her family tonight and tomorrow so she didn't have to cook. This place was packed today the day before Christmas Christmas Eve., everyone looked happy, the staff was very pleasant and very efficient , and the shelves were lined with candies and chips or spices. I actually didn't have time to look at all the options, but what a great market and place to enjoy with the kids and family.. We were able to get the kids fed, cleaned up their mess and checked out with tons to go. They go to place. I hear in town and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.!!!

You pay at the opposite door as you exit the restaurant. There's a sundry of chips and beverages to add to your sandwich to make it a combo. And, don't forget the option of choosing a slice of cake from the 'fridge. There are also bakery, candy, and other throw back items to shop for while you dine. Great find just off the square.

My first time was better (pun intended!). The dessert was so-so. I got the Naughty by Nature and the lime was WAY too tart. I wish they had more variation for those who don't want a lot of chocolate or peanut butter. My guy had the Peanut Butter Perversion and said it was too creamy. We may try again one day, but not too soon. I do love the menu process and ease to view options.

That kind of service is appreciated. Unfortunately, everything else? Pretty underwhelming. First impressions? Chaos. The entrance area is a logistical mess. People trying to enter, others trying to leave, a cramped waiting area, and no host in sight to direct traffic or check people in. Add dim lighting that makes it hard to see people moving around, and you've got elbows bumping and bodies brushing. Ironically, the most "intimate" part of the whole night was navigating the front door. The concept? Great. The execution? Not so much. I actually love the idea behind this place -- seductive storytelling by your server, iPads with flirtatious menus, and provocative questions to ask your partner. That's all fun... if that's what you're coming for. I came for the desserts. And as someone who takes sweets seriously, this place didn't deliver. Let's talk drinks: Tiny, overpriced, and flavor-wise -- basic. Nothing memorable. The chocolate-rimmed glasses are a nice touch in theory, but licking the rim doesn't elevate the drink. If I want to rim a glass with something sweet at home, I can. That alone doesn't justify the price. Now, the real heartbreak -- the desserts. My fiancé had the Prince Charming red velvet cheesecake, and I don't think I've ever encountered a cheesecake so dry, so devoid of flavor. Even the crust tasted off -- weirdly savory, and not in a creative way. I ordered the Blueberry Birthday -- it sounded like heaven: buttered cinnamon-sugar toast, Belgian white chocolate, spiked blueberry compote, brie cheese, and a strawberry champagne dip. Sadly, it was more like culinary whiplash. Dry. Disconnected flavors. The only thing that saved it from being inedible was the champagne dip -- without it, I probably would've choked. Three drinks and three desserts came out to around $90. For that price, I expected to be wowed -- or at least pleasantly full. I left confused, slightly annoyed, and still craving dessert. Maybe we came on an off night. Maybe we chose the wrong menu items. Either way, I won't be back to find out.
