When my burger arrived, I ate a fry, and then took a bite off my burger. Now I don't really remember eating my burger. I remember savoring the flavor, but I never set it down and ate another fry until the burger was gone! I cannot think of a better compliment than that! It was magical. The crazy thing is that it wasn't even on the menu. I had wanted a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, but they had a huge rush on baked potatoes with Philly cheesesteak as the topping that they were out of the meat. So when I asked if I could get a cheeseburger with the Philly toppings of onions, peppers, and mushrooms, with that cheese, she had to double check first. I'm telling you, I have eaten at a LOT of diners, and had a LOT of special burgers. But this is in my TOP TWO OF ALL TIME. I have a review of a place in the ghetto in East St. Louis called Tasteeburger. And the burger here at Ain't It Guud is easily just as good. I hate to say better just because there might be a recency bias involved. But I can confidently say it's the best burger I've had outside of the state of Illinois!
