Incredible sandwiches!! I try to stop in from time to time. Would definitely recommend!!

Came up to visit one of my kiddos who moved up here this year to get away from the city. Her first choice for us was Market 50 and this place was fantastic!! A deli ,a shop , very local and a bit on the honor system where you get a bag and write down what you want on a sandwich to eat ,pick a drink and sit and enjoy. So 6 of us came in, found a table, got our orders into the box and waited for our names to be called. Only took five minutes or so, and each one of our orders was called and you go up and pick it up and head back to the table. Maybe pick up some cake , or anything else you desire but I got a turkey Panini with everything on it and it was super !!! a side of potato salad, and some chips for some reason and I was stuffed. The kids ate well., and we even bought some lasagnas and a chicken casserole to take home for my daughter to eat with her family tonight and tomorrow so she didn't have to cook. This place was packed today the day before Christmas Christmas Eve., everyone looked happy, the staff was very pleasant and very efficient , and the shelves were lined with candies and chips or spices. I actually didn't have time to look at all the options, but what a great market and place to enjoy with the kids and family.. We were able to get the kids fed, cleaned up their mess and checked out with tons to go. They go to place. I hear in town and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.!!! read more

Let's hear it for a great sandwich shop! As shared, it's a fun way of ordering- grab a brown bag and a sharpie and check what you want. You pay at the opposite door as you exit the restaurant. There's a sundry of chips and beverages to add to your sandwich to make it a combo. And, don't forget the option of choosing a slice of cake from the 'fridge. Had a very nice sandwich for lunch a bit of turkey and ham. The Amish staff were pleasant and helpful. The shop itself reads specialty grocery store/deli clean and organized. We took home some amazing desserts from the cooler white chocolate raspberry cheese cake. The homemade cakes and pies looked amazing. Took home a family sized pot pie for dinner and some crab dip for a later night snack. In Hartwell this is a Must stop, try and return again! read more

We travel quite often for dog events and I always try to shop local. I have a sweet tooth so a bakery is always on my list. Although Market 50 is not a traditional bakery only I gave them a shot. I got a slice of strawberry cake and New York style cheesecake. Both were amazing. They were both in the cooler so they were cold when I bit into them. They were fresh both were bursting with flavor. My husband was driving through this area and picked up some food from here. Their potato salad was some of the best I have had at a restaurant. Also, great broccoli soup I got a cheese sandwich and they did not skimp. Next time we take a weekend trip I want to go to this area just so I can try more things here. read more

This is truly a gem in beautiful downtown Hartwell... We went for lunch, and the sandwiches we all had were awesome...build your own! But , what truly made my day was the Creme Soda, the best I've found in years. It was so good I bought up their remaining bottles. The sweets and gift shop was also lots of fun to inspect. We ended up bringing back a delicious Strawberry Cake and several huge slices of the BEST Coconut Cake I've EVER had! This was my first visit to Hartwell and Lake Hartwell, and I can't wait to return. The first place I'll visit will be this lovely market! read more

We had such a nice lunch here. Market 50 is a quaint shop and deli in downtown Hartwell. In front of the deli counter there's a stand where you fill in the blanks on a brown bag if you're ordering a sandwich, or a sheet of white paper if you're ordering a salad. My friend and I ordered one of each to share. Once your meal is ready, your name is called to pick up and the drinks are self serve. Before you leave, you simply take the bag/paper to the cashier to pay. Tables are scattered about the store, and the space is cozy. We enjoyed our fresh and generously portioned lunch and then walked around to shop. Some of the prices of pre-made foods were a bit steep ($10 lb. for pimento cheese!). There are also jarred jams, butters and honey, local merchandise, and lots of wooden signs for sale. Their cakes are massive (six layer) and are also sold by the slice for $6, which isn't bad considering one slice would feed two people. My friend and I ended up coming back after a visit to the botanical garden to indulge in the Key Lime cake that was calling our name! Just 10 miles off I-85, this is a great little detour if you're in the area. read more

While reading the reviews, I just want to say Yelp continues to be just a way for people who have no actual opinions to express head thoughts about good and hard working places, which they do not understand. A sandwich being basic at a local shop isn't a reason for a 1 star review. I get it, you were "not impressed" with the food. However it serves its purpose and the people who run this location never to my knowledge have ill-will. You saying "nothing you can't make at home" is a complaint that shouldn't be any less than 3-stars. I have been to this place multiple times, having eaten at work as a reward for sales. The food is good, you get what you pay for. 7 dollars for a competent worker to make food for you. Instead of leaving 1 star reviews on a app, eat at home. Wait, you won't, because you are too lazy to cook and too egotistical to not parade that lazy mind on yelp. This is an awesome place. It is a coffee bar, sandwich shop, bakery, grocery, and gift shop all in one! What great fun! Although the sandwiches looked awesome, we came for house-made desserts and coffee. We were not disappointed. I had a coconut creme pie which had nuts and was out of this world! Among our group were cheesecake, chocolate layer cake, and a gourmet cupcakes. Everyone ate their fill and then some. What a wonderful afternoon that was! read more

This market is a very cute store to find nifty decor, food, and etc. They also have a sandwich, coffee, and ice cream stand. Their espresso is very good compared to the other coffee shops around. My wife got a sandwich and I got a wrap. They were both very good and you pick all the ingredients on paper before they make them for you so you can get the exact sandwich you want. The books and decors and other stuff they sell here are very adorable and does a great job testing my discipline to not buy everything. I've loved this place through it's transitions and I go back whenever I'm in town. They have an ordering system where you write your sandwich order on the bag you'll receive it in. Hand it to the counter person, and they call you when it's done. Their desserts are really good..... large slices of homeade cakes.... coconut was fantastik the last time I was there.... many to choose from.
