Little Japan Hartwell - Tiger roll

Little Japan Hartwell

My teriyaki chicken and rice was about as cheap as a fast food combo meal and much better. I'm not the biggest fan of carrots, but I think these carrots were the best I've ever had. If I'm not a huge fan of carrots, I'm less a fan of sushi, but my wife ordered Little Japan rolls. I actually liked them. They were the best of my limited sushi experience. The restaurant itself is nice, with plenty of room and Japanese-themed paintings. I liked that, even with a full restaurant, the noise level was low enough to carry on a conversation easily.

Went in and ordered a lunch special with 2 eggrolls on the side to go... explained to the young…read morelady that I didn't want rice (or carrots)... that I wanted the noodles. She said no problem. I ordered a tea as well. Several times I mentioned no rice... only noodles....lunch special (as described on their facebook which I tried to show her a pic of but she was too distracted, constantly interrupting, as though it was an inconvenience--surprising because there were only patrons at 2 tables, and several workers walking around or hanging around chatting with each other.) I got home and opened the box and no noodles... I was given rice covered in carrots!! I could've got mad...but mistakes happen. I called and talked to a nice young man who said sorry, come in and we'll replace the meal. He took down my name. Very professional and polite. Fast forward to today, one week later. I go in and get the same girl at the register--who should absolutely not be working with customers--and I explained to her that last week she entered my order wrong, I had called, and they were going to replace it. She said, 'You're only getting the meal...not the eggrolls." I told her I bought it all as one meal to enjoy together and when my order was wrong, I passed the entire meal it to someone else... so I'd like them to replace the entire meal (other than the tea). She told me they weren't handing out free eggrolls. Then she disappeared in the back for 10 minutes and another girl walks up and says, 'we're not replacing the eggrolls...' I explained to HER that I'd bought it as an entire meal to eat together and didn't get to eat it, and she said "Why did you give away your food? That's not our mistake..." I disagree. When I had to find something else to eat for dinner (which happened to be a quick meal I made myself), I wasn't going to eat eggrolls with it. I splurged on eating out a MEAL...not eggrolls, so gave the whole meal to someone who did like rice and carrots. Regardless, they were rude. I asked who their manager was...they said they didn't know. I asked who the owner was...they didn't know. Another young man finally told me the name of the owner who is also the manager.... like it was a big secret. This is a small town... I think the manager would want to know how rude these ladies were. Never did get the manager's last name... but buyer beware. They cannot be trusted to get an order right. They're too young to understand the cost of replacing 2 eggrolls is a LOT less expensive than a dissatisfied customer, who had to drive back into town on a separate trip to get the meal they'd paid for the first time (cost of time, gas, and wear&tear on vehicle is a LOT more than the cost of eggrolls). If you check online groups, you'll see this restaurant is hit and miss. If these kids running the place in the manager's absence had a good day...you'll get a good meal & service, exactly as you ordered it. But if they had a bad day at school..... buyer beware. Your food and experience is at the mercy of an overly emotional teenage girl with no customer service skills, no memory skills and a sharp tongue. Side note: The young man with the curly long hair is extremely polite... but not authorized to fix a mistake like this. Second Side Note: Go to Kobe instead. Food is always right. If your plate is wrong they won't deduct the cost of the eggrolls that are right.... and their eggrolls AND tea are MUCH better anyway.

So portion to cost to value, you're getting a good deal in this economy--- especially all the way out here; this is like what Palm Dale would be to Orange Country California. Ordered the soon Dobu, beef, it came with 4 sides of Banchan which aside from the soybean kimchi, were all pretty mediocre. Ordered a LA Kalbi, a little on the sweeter side, but not complaining, it was charred, crispy and well marinated. I downed everything in a matter of minutes. So, I was trapped in my big rig for 30+ hours the previous two days whilst getting screwed over by my broker delivering a load to Ahold Delhaize in South Carolina. **Never Again :) . ADUSA is the worse grocery foods company and publicly listed company in Europe...period. I left them a one star on Google. Good. Got that off my chest. As I was saying, dropped in here after spending the morning fixing my rig. And as a reward for getting my supply air hose back in running shape. I found this hole in the wall in Commerce Georgia. There was no one here, except me myself and I. And being the curious me, I started chatting with the female manager who turned out to speak Mandrin. It turns out in the recent slew of events this restaurant is located in close proximity to Korean Giant, SK Batteries. Yes... that company that partnered with the other giant which was raided by the likes of ICE in the recent anti immigration crackdown. No wonder there was no one here ...All the Koreans vanished. Bummer. All in all, the truck stop next door is pretty blessed to be located in such a prime location with food offerings other than burgers. So I vow the next time I truck through here, I will come back and order their Kimchi Pancakes and Kimchi Fries Rice..and maybe their spicy Teobukki..however way you spell that word.
