From age 2 to age 90! We took Grandma to Iron Mountain for her very first UTV ride right after she turned 90. We had 9 adults & 5 kids. Ages between 2 and 90! We all had a different type of UTV and loved them all. The owner was super friendly, the front office staff super friendly, and the restaurant staff also super friendly! This was the first time I was on an UTV - been on an ATV before - and it was A BLAST! We worked our way up to Beauty Point and took in some amazing views! Was thankful for the port-a-potty's we saw along the way. The trails were marked making it relatively easy to work our way up & back down. There were some paths harder than others - one of them I had to stop driving for fear of getting stuck, but my husband got it through. Highly recommend! read more

DO NOT RENT A MACHINE FROM THESE PEOPLE: On 2/23/24 my son and I rented an off road vehicle from Iron Mountain. This was our 3rd time visiting the park and renting a machine as we had a great experience the first 2 outings. In addition to the $800 rental fee they put a 5k deposit hold on your card when you rent the machines. This occasion, the machines were brand new (which I did not request). It had rained the night before and the trails were poorly marked with deep water ruts yet we still managed to avoid any collisions or damage. Fast forward a week later and I received an invoice from a Jim Smith from Iron Mountain Resort (who does not work for the company) for $1,018.91 for New Decals and some light painting. After receiving no answers to questions posed in 3 emails I called only to find that there is not Jim Smith with the company but was assured by nice lady that she would look into it and get back to me. Still no response a week later and called back whereby I spoke with a gentlemen who was unwilling to make any concessions and threatened "if you ruin my business I will ruin yours." Here's a thought...If you run an off-road rental business at an off-road park you might want to consider letting people know the $ risks of renting new machines vs used ones. Charging people over 1k for what would seemingly be normal wear and tear and putting a fake name on the email suggests you know exactly what you are doing and it's sketchy as hell. read more

The cave tours were absolutely wonderful and the guides were personable and knowledgeable. However, this place is over commercialized. They even charge for parking after you fork out a significant amount of money. My issue was with one of the ride attendants, specifically for the alpine slide. He put me in a very unsafe position despite me showing him that his safety concerns were heard and fixed. His attitude and belligerence made me leave the park- very shady. My husband suspects he was setting me up to get robbed. I guess it's an OK place if you like playing into someone's power trip and wasting money. I do not recommend this place if you are a person who values integrity. read more

I had low expectations due to the reviews but boy am i glad that i gave this place a shot! This is a golden gem hidden in the mountains of dahlonega! I appreciated the immense space and beauty this park has to offer! There was a competition going on and it was so much fun to watch! I absolutely loved the experience! The entrance fee for a day seems very fair for what you get ! My husband and son had a blast trail riding their dirt bikes! We look forward to coming here again ! read more

We rented and paid online for an RV Slip to camp Thursday-Sunday. When we arrived they said we were required to pay an additional $38.88/person a day including day of arrival. So an additional $233.28 on top of the RV price we already paid online!! We explained we were just camping and not actually doing trails until Saturday(This does not matter)They charge an extra $38.88/person per day on top of the price for your camping spot. If that's not bad enough they wouldn't allow the RV rental person through the gate to pick up his RV without paying them another $38.88 Sunday morning and made his wife sit at the office while he picked up the RV. So we also had to reimburse the rental company another $38.88!! So here's what only Two full days of RV Camping actually looks like: RV Slip $237.29+Trail Charges $233.28 (2 people)+RV rental pickup fee $38.88= A total of $509.45 More than DOUBLE the fee when we booked and paid online. read more

Tired and unenthusiastic Waitress came by and handed us menus then waited on all the tables around our table including a table of people that got there well after we were seated!!!! SHE NEVER CAME BACK to our table! She actually breezed by our table several times and ignored us when we tried to flag her down! We left after 35 minutes of her rude antics! TERRIBLE!!! Scammed me out of $500+ They charged me for a rental that I cancelled well before their cancellation deadline. Lied to my credit card company when I disputed the $500+ charge... they told Mastercard that I actually completed the rental and owed the fee! Offered me a partial credit when I proved that the rental was cancelled and couldn't have even happened since I wasn't at their facility, but then never actually posted the credit to my account. They sent me a bogus receipt for the credit as a scam. Mastercard says it was never even entered, and Iron Mountain can't/won't provide a valid transaction ID to prove it was real. read more

Overpriced, overcharged, no refund! Was charged for a full day of riding when i arrived at 5PM. Was told I could not ride past 8PM. Other riders were riding into the early morning hours. Very inconsiderate of other campers. Trails were not well maintained, and the signage was terrible. read more

Bring your wallet!!! Hidden Fees not advertised! I recently stayed at iron Mountain was charged a fee to enter the park. In addition to my RV campground site. if you rent a campsite you would think you would be given. riding passes for at least one vehicle. I was charged a fee per day to Ride, and given the wrong armbands. I was challenged at the gate, inquired about the wrong armbands and the overcharge, and was denied a refund. I requested to speak to the owner Craig however, after three contacts were made by employees, and he was given my number still waiting a phone call from him. Will not be returning and I have notified all by riding friends not to return as well! read more

Great place to ride and bring the family. This weekend is our 7 time coming here to ride and camp in our rv. We love this place. This is a newer place so they are still developing the infrastructure. Just in the last 6 months of coming here I have seen a lot of development. I do wish the trails where marked better but I'm sure that will come in time. My kids love coming here and we feel safe. The views are amazing. Even though a lot of people are here the trails are not packed and I seldom pass others. We visited this place back in the fall. We rented a UTV and the wheel almost fell off before I could drive it off the pavement. They said "oops" and gave us a different UTV. The trails are very poorly maintained and sort of boring. Being in the mountains you would expect more somehow. They are also OVERRUN with giant Joro spiders. You end up driving through the webs and they end up everywhere. At one point we threw 7-8 spiders out of the vehicle in one stop. Google them. Super gross. It was definitely not the experience I was looking for. So much potential with that land wasted... read more

Spent some time here yesterday. It's a "ok" place but nothing to get excited about. The trails were average with a lot of dead ends and circles. Signage - signs were good at the beginning and end of main trail but horrible in the middle of the trail system making it difficult to determine where we were without a off road GPS. The map they give you sucks and is hard to read or make sense of. Several of the trails were also in poor shape full of tree debris which beats the snot out of your machine needlessly. The other thing is they use a bunch of large gravel rocks which does a number on your machine and the machines ahead of you kick them up hitting you or your machine. They are way over priced for what they offer. We were charged $40 for SxS and $10 for the passenger plus tax made it $54 which is too expensive for what you get. We also noticed that the items they sell on site had what appeared, a hefty markup. To compare - Royal Blue in TN is $40 for out of state residents or $18 for residents and passengers are free and they have a much better trail system. We'd rather drive the distance to TN or HMT West VA. The good things were that it wasn't crowded, was clean and the parking lots give ample space to turn around with a trailer. In a nutshell they have potential but have a long way to go and our opinion was that $20-$25 fee for SxS would be more appropriate for what they offer. Given the amount of money they need to put in to this venture and how few people were there couple with better/cheaper options a few hours away I unfortunately don't think they'll be in business 5 years from now - I could be wrong but that's my opinion. When you walk in you are greeted by 5 teens who have no idea what they are doing while the husband and wife owner just look confused. Their son also appears to have his hand in the business, but I only had deal with him end as he wanted to replace all the UTV panels for some scapes. Park is treacherous in some places and the trails are horribly marked. They are very happy to send someone out if you get stuck with a huge fee attached then you get to argue with them about "scrapes" ...maybe it's fun if you own one. Iron Mountain Park is one of the best places to ride and hang out with Friends. I will have to say their restaurant bar is top-notch. The Food is great, it's one of the best bars to watch Sat. football games when you need to take a break from riding. We have always had the best service at the restaurant/ bar and Shannon is amazing, she does an awesome job running it even though it is understaffed most of the time as all restaurants bars are these days. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. We have been riding here for years when the facility was new and it was good. Over the years it has been so very badly rutted out by the use of 4x4s, trucks and jeeps that ATVs and dirt bikes hardly stand a chance not getting stuck or being put in treacherous, dangerous situations. The bike track is fine. Don't even get me started on UTVs. They constantly get stuck due to the unavoidable sink holes and mud pits; the staff will charge you hundreds to pull you out and if you rent any of their equipment, buyer beware!! We stopped going due to a bad experience & decided to give it one more try months later due to friends requests...Many reviews on here discouraging renting but the group we went with had to rent. Big mistake!! Everyone got stuck because the trails are so badly eroded and not maintained, and the mud pits UTVs have to travel through, you'll get charged for dirtying up the UTV too much! What?! Blew a head gasket which they charged our friend over $1200 for & my dad is a mechanic; he said that is from lack of vehicle maintenance not running through mud lol Got home and our friend was charged $2500 more than 4 x's and we have 26 people in our group to attest the UTVs were NOT damaged!!! Infact our group drove them better than I've witnessed on the trails before but they are so poorly maintained I believe it's intentional to be able to rape guests with extreme damage fees! Do not rent from here! This is an ongoing issue and you will be disappointed! It's a shame too the place had a lot of potential but zero reinvestment in the facility. Poorly marked and map is mediocre at best. Let's not discuss the poor management, unprofessional staff with zero personality. Whoever the old lady was checking the UTVs back in screaming profanity in front of our friend's children. Know what you're getting yourself into visiting here! Went to Iron Mountain resort today (the fourth of July) with my wife and a couple of friends. Started off good but later in the evening on the way to watch the fire works on the main road a white Ford F-150 came flying by probably going 50mph and sideways being stupid and I was on my 450 at about 30 and they literally came 3 to 4 feet from running me over and then slammed the breaks and stopped. Told the workers there and nothing was done. Then the people in the truck saw me point them out and the 7 of them tried to fight me my wife and my friend and still nothing was done (fyi I could smell the booze on them) Have to say I am a local to Dahlonega and have ridden there quite a few times and loved it but there total lack of safety and the complete failure to enforce there own rules leave a very bad taste in my mouth and will probably never return and will tell my friends and loved ones not to go. Riding is not worth dying over when a guy on a 220 pound bike is almost killed by some idiot in a 5000 pound truck. I hope they see this review and change/ enforce there own rules. this place sucks for bikes it's good for anything else. I feel like any time I've came to ride here I've been scammed. they don't take care of anything but the lodge, any track you go to in the park hasn't been taken care of in years probably since they've opened. the people who built the MX track walked out on them and they haven't touched it since, they were too lazy to maintain the MX track themselves so they turned it into a GP track and the track has been completely destroyed. they claim they are "building another" but they are just telling us what we want to hear. Also barley any trails are marked, especially single track, half the time you dont even know if you are going the right way, or if there is going to be other riders coming at you head on. So if you are looking a place to ride on the weekend save your time and money and go literally anywhere else and you will have a better time. Hell go ride the OHV Whizenhunt trails 20 mins down the road for free, their trails are a hell of a lot better. read more

This park is beautiful, but that's about all it has going for it. The trails are poorly marked and there is no way to know which way you're going. We got lost and it took us forever to figure out how to get out. Most parks I've been to label the trails with letters or numbers, which make it easy to track where you're at. When we mentioned our concerns to the employees, they got extremely rude and condescending. The trails are also poorly maintained. Every single one of our machines ended up broken because of the trails. We will not be coming back. read more

This is a nice park with some fun trails but the map is horrible! No paper maps just digital maps, btw. No signs to let you know what trail you are on or how to get out. We finally figured out which ones were easy and which ones are hard after trial and error. We were lost for over 2 hours ( as well as 4 other parties we met) until our phone GPS finally helped us find our way out. Remember, cell service can be spotty so this makes it even worse. Not much fun with a storm coming and you have no idea where you are. Hopefully, with all the reviews of poorly marked trails this place will do something about it. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I bought $200 shoes and they were messed up. I went back the same day twice trying to exchange them. I even went one more time before leaving. The younger guy told me the company would loose money if they returned or exchanged my boot. Like if I wasn't loosing money in purchasing $200 boot that didn't work. They wouldn't return or exchange them. I was told by 3 people Hunter would return my call that following Tuesday. I had to call on Thursday and he had no idea what I was talking about. They had Dane with Fox contact me. I sent him a video of the issues. He told me they couldn't exchange it. I sent him more of the videos and he wouldn't reply. I had to call him from a different phone number to get an answer. When he realized who I was, he stated being rude. He said" I already told you it's not covered under warranty. I'm not going to sit here and go back and forth with you. I tired contacting Hunter but he didn't answer any of my calls again. Be careful of what you buy there. read more

We drove 45 minutes to ride the Mx track and we get here and pay $75 for 2 bikes we go to the motocross track and it's closed ! They posted on Facebook sunday that the track was going to be closed Monday for maintenance, not closed the whole week ! Would've been nice if they posted on their social media and kept us up to date, the lady at the front desk didnt even tell us the track was closed she just took our money! Creates park specifically designed for vehicle to risk getting stuck. Then charges ridiculous fees if you get stuck & can't get it out yourself. Seriously. If you get stuck in there, and you don't have help, it's going to cost $250 to get it out. If you don't pay them to pull you out, and choose to come back the next day with friends to help you get it out... it's going to cost you a $350 "Abandoned Vehicle Fee". No thanks. We were thinking about trying out this park next weekend. I called to get prices and verify if they enforce helmets on sxs. I was told in fact they do enforce them. I then asked if they allow alcohol. I was told yes, you can drink if you're not driving. Wait...what?? like people aren't going to drink and drive?? I was told you can have alcohol in the parking lot but not on the trails...again...what?? So they are going to enforce me to wear a helmet on a sxs when I am being safe but they are going to let people drink in the parking lot and then drive on the trails with me. No thank you. I choose not to pay $50 to ride there and not be forced to do one thing while others are not forced to do something else. If Iron Mountain wants to cater to those who drink, I will not be going there. read more

Our experience was much better than the review I read. It's new- the staff was polite the park is big and the kids had a blast. I bet once they finish building it out it will be outstanding. Bring your RV and a grill and make a day of it. read more

This is a great place to take the family for a day ride. Trials are all moderate to easy, so no big climbs or rock crawling, but lots of variety and scenery to take in. Super friendly staff. They've just started construction on the buildings, but lots of fun trails. 4500 acres, so no real traffic to deal with and one way trials so it's pretty safe. Try them out! read more

Wouldn't necessarily recommend. We were able to ride every trail in only 2.5 hours, and they aren't anything special.. not even 1 small hill climb. Not to mention, this is also the most expensive place to ride that I've been to. For instance, a yearly pass for Windrock park(more than 10x the trails)is $100, and the pass at Iron Mountain is $375!! read more

This place is nice to ride but price is high for what you get. They have now blacktop the road back to the trails so that nice before it was gravel and tough on hauling truck paint. The parking area is still gravel but plenty of parking. No place to wash off your machine when done riding and only portable toilet for now. The trails are nice after a rain for mudding and the trails are moderate in difficulty. Not all of the park has trails as of right now but you can see they have plans to do more. They are spending lots of money and I see lots of improvement ever time I visit. If they would discount the park until they get it complete it would help with the bang for the buck. I like it because it close and I can ride and be home in time for cleaning but if your traveling just know the mud will be dry before you get home. It red clay so it will stain your seats once it dries. When it is complete it will be one of the best parks around but like any project that started it hard to see its value. Looking forward to machine wash and cloths changing area, I like to get muddy but don't like getting into my truck that way. That why I bought a toy to play in the mud so my truck can stay clean. read more
