Really cute spot for family fun and kid friendly! You can control your speed and the drops are only 80 ft. The only agony is the long lines but a fast ride. Definitely recommend coming earlier than 10 am to queue and find parking. read more

Before you get out the car, leave your personal belongings that don't fit into your pocket (ie - purse/bag) unless it's a fanny pack as they don't allow it on the ride. You are required to fill out a waiver, they have a QR code to scan once you get up the ticket booth they will verify that you completed it. They do offer a military discount - however we left everything in the car so we had to go back and fetch that. They give you a ticket, hold on to it as it's your ticket to ride! There were lots of things that could have been told to us while we were in line buying our tickets but instead we had an employee who screamed and yelled while we waited. I hate to say we waited longer than the actual ride took but we did. On that note, if you enjoyed your first ride they will let you go a second time for 1/2 off the price. But we got on the coaster, got buckled in and told to hold on to the handle bars. Given quick instructions (push forward to go, pull back to slow down) and up the mountain we went. During the ride they do take a picture so remember to smile! Was it fun, it was . . . However we need to extend the track and make it a little longer. read more

They give a military discount! Your second ride is discounted if you go again. You're not to take purses or any loose items. Ponytail holders are provided to put your hair up, as well. The ride is only 4 minutes. A chest or head GOPRO might be good. Cashier service was just okay. There were lots of people waiting to pay and in line to ride. The man guiding the line was not very pleasant. You really have to listen to the recorded announcement to get your directions. Would be nice if it were much longer ride. You spend more time waiting than riding. read more

4 of us here for a few days. This was a must do. I read about this place. Sounded like fun. We had some time and decided to try it. So glad we did. We climbed up the stairs just to see that we could have driven up to the entrance. Ah, we could use the exercise. We went to the window. No waiting. Signed our life's away, and got on our carts. The ride goes up hill about 5 stories or more. Then your off. Holy cow. This thing is fast. I pulled back on the breaks once. This thing will fly. Fast and very smooth. The ride was fun for everybody. I recommend for the whole family. read more

Drove almost 2 hours to come here and it was sooo fun! It started raining while we were waiting in line, so my friend and I had to wait it out until the rain and thunder passed. But the wait was worth it because the roller coaster was so much fun! Definitely recommend! Cheap tickets too. Nice gift shop inside! read more

OMG!!! WHAT GREAT FUN! If you have a chance to try this you should. It's a 1-2 person coaster in the mountains. It was so much fun. You control the speed and it makes your heart drop into your stomach! There were kids on it having a blast then we got on and had just as much fun!!! We would do it several more times if we were staying in the area!! It's something everyone should try at least once! read more

I suggest going in the morning when it first opens up, as it can get busy as the day progresses and the lines get long. They have a waiver to fill out prior to you riding, which you can scan a QR code and do so while you're in line. It didn't work for me, so I filled it out at the kiosk during checkout. If you have long hair, they request that you pick up your hair with a hair tie. If you don't have one, they provide one right before you ride. Also, no bags on the ride. They have lockers for rental, but they do allow fanny packs/belt bags. Super fun experience if you've never tried something like this. Just don't expect Disney or Universal type vibes! This is rustic and in nature, and it was awesome! They do take a picture while you're in the ride, which is available for purchase in the gift shop upon exit. read more

So much fun! I was a little scared to do this but so glad I did! I went twice and they give you a discount if you go two times. You sit on the coaster 1 or 2 people in a cart max 375 lbs weight limit. The ride begins and takes you up the mountain through the forest which is really beautiful and peaceful. When you get to the top, you release the breaks and the coaster goes down around 27 mph. Now if you get scared or its too fast, you can always break and slow down but the fun part is going down fast. The second time around I got stuck behind a mother and small child going slow. It was not so fun then so try to get distance between coasters. The attendants were super nice and explained safety measures and if you have long hair, they will give you a pony tail holder to put your hair back. Fun times in Helen, Georgia! read more

Well worth the stop! Discount if you choose to ride a second time! Be warned if you're going around sharp turns don't let it go wide open or you will rock as if you're going to flip lol scared the heck out of me and my husband. Such a fun time though def do it! read more

Was visiting Helen for the day with some friends for Oktober fest, and needed a break from window shopping - along came Georgia Mountain Coaster! This was such a fun ride and honestly was the highlight of my visit to Helen. Tickets were reasonable - $17 per rider. The coaster seats either 1 or 2 people (so you can double up if you'd like or have kids). Make sure to bring a hair tie - they will make you put your hair up if it's long! Wait time was a bit long, maybe 45 mins to an hour, but that is expected for a busy Oktoberfest day. Must-do in North GA! read more

There aren't many mountain coasters around. Riding in the coaster is exciting and a lot of fun. The experience is Definitely cool and kids will love it! The staff didn't seem happy to be there. The line was so long and the carts were getting stuck. They could have been more attentive to getting a thing to move smoother. It took a while for people to start moving them forward. Cool experience but just wish the staff was a little better. read more

We loved it! :) My husband & I became little kids again during the ride. This is certainly one of the touristy things to do while visiting Helen, GA. After waiting in the queue for almost an hour, we were dying to get started :) Although I'm a fan of the traditional roller coasters, this one felt new to ride in a forest scenery. The coaster speed can be manually controlled that appeal to both who are either new to rides or have a fear of roller coasters. But sadly in my case, I was stuck behind someone who was going super slow, so my manual control stopped working to keep a safe distance from her throughout the ride. So, we did have fun but for only 2 minutes or so (sigh) We were tempted to go back once more (they offered buy 1 get 50% for the 2nd ride) but looking at the crowd, we decided not to. read more

Even though it was raining it was an amazing time. We had windshields to keep the rain out of our faces as we were going down the mountain. I stayed pretty dry on the ride. Definitely a fun experience for this South Florida girl. read more

We were looking for something exciting to do and came upon this outline poster. Such a cool and exciting one person ride or you can ride with a kid with a weight limit through the mountains in Helen Georgia. The cost is reasonable. The staff is great and they keep the line moving so even though it's long, it goes pretty quick Definitely something to do while visiting the area. read more

Absolutely a must ride coaster. Line seemed slow, but when the carts are mostly one at a time it takes a while. Pro tip, at the top hold the break a few seconds, let the person in front get way out in front, then off the breaks for a thrill ride, no breaks until the end. read more

I have had this alpine coaster on my to-do lost since we moved to Georgia. I finally got to try it earlier this week and it did not disappoint. At $17 per adult, it is a bit on the pricey side for what essentially amounts to a 3-5 minute ride, but it was worth doing for sure. They do give half off a second ride, which is nice, but I think it would be more fair to get 2 rides for the original price and maybe half off any additional rides just because of how short it is. The speed is just right and the spacing between carts is good. I never felt like I had to press the brakes while riding but wish I didn't have to keep holding the handle down for full speed either. A little bumpy on some parts, but that is to be expected on a coaster. Good views of parts of Helen while climbing up. If we are back in the area, I would do it again and maybe spring for a second run that time. read more

NO BAGs / shoulder length hair up in a bun. Short but fun. Was worried about more vista views. It was all in the forest under the canopy. Don't get this review wrong. It's fun. But of a thrill. The workers are bored with tourists. They put on a brave front, but you can see it on every face. Tourist town bucket list item - check. read more

I saw this coaster highlighted on social media so many times and each time I wanted to go more and more so I'm soooo happy I finally got to go! Be prepared to wait forever. The line gets pretty long and you'll likely be waiting in the sun for some time before you get to the shaded areas. There's a shop with water & drinks to keep you cool and snacks to munch on as you wait. The snacks in the store were a life saver as I visited with two toddlers. My husband and I both went with our two older girls and I was relieved that they let us wait at the front of the line while the other went and came back to stay with the babies. The line was long and hot but it went by pretty quickly. To me, it was absolutely worth it. For a family of 4 we spent about $64 which felt a bit steep but I was just really happy to be able to go one the the coaster I felt it was a good spend for experience. The ride up the mountain was nice and relaxing. I loved the scenery around me and the feeling of anticipation as we got closer to the top. Once we got to the top and released our breaks I legit felt like I was flying thru the trees. Only thing I would change is the people in front of us were going a bit too slow for our liking I would've wanted to go down even faster!! I was not about to wait in that line again so I didn't consider buying a second ticket but if you do decide to it's half off which would be fun to do on a next trip with more time. This was definitely a bucket list experience for me and I'm so glad I got to do this! read more

Absolutely terrifying if you dislike heights like me. But, I lived. Ive wanted to do a mountain coaster for a long time and I'm so happy I finally took the time to try this! It was so fun! I felt like a child again. It's a little soendy at $18, but if you do it again the same day, it's half price! It's fast but you can use breaks to slow down. It's not too bumpy. I recommend it for the young (with an adult) - all the way up to anyone who may still enjoy a roller coaster. My sisters and i loved it! read more

The Georgia Mountain Coaster was definitely fun and pricing was decent, but the ride is not long. We did a similar coaster in Jamaica that was at least triple the length, this was a bit disappointing from that standpoint. We waited in line for 1.5 hours for a 3 minute ride. I would highly suggest buying the 2nd ride for half off; the really nice part is that they don't make you get off the ride, you just stay on and do it again so no waiting in line again. We did enjoy this and would recommend anyone trying; even our daughter (who's 7) loved it. read more

I love this roller coaster! You move the handles forward to go fast once you're at the top. You're pulled up there first on the track. Once you are in charge it's extremely fun. I found myself pulling back to slow down around sharp corners. If you go too fast you might catch your neighbor up front, & there is zero bumping allowed, much too dangerous. There are little kids riding with parents sharing one. I tried it also at night, & it was even more fun in the dark, cold night. Thanksgiving weekend and proper shoes were needed to stay warm, & a coat. Keep long hair inside your hood, no free ponytails are allowed, must be contained. Second ride is half off. I purchased them together & returned with the receipt a few hours later before 9pm when the line was a bit shorter at night. Popular fun place. Beautiful scenery also. Snacks for $2 in the gift shop. read more

This business is located directly on N. Main Street near the center of town except it is about 50 feet above the street. Georgia Mountain Coaster is on a hill that you can walk up a series of steps to get to or drive up to their parking lot. Up there is a ticket center/gift shop that also sells drinks and some snacks. Adult tickets are $17 for one ride and then 1/2 off for subsequent rides. You get into your cart and put on the 3 point seat belt (just like the front seats of your car) and then begin a slow climb to the top of the .6 mile track. That takes 3 minutes and then it's downhill for another 2 minutes to the finish. You regulate your own speed with a hand brake and I didn't use mine and went quite fast through the sharp turns. The descent is very safe no matter how fast you go. Even so, I decided not to repeat as I didn't think it would be worth it. I would have been more excited if this ride was less $. Maybe $10-$12 is more fair. It is for only that reason I give a 3 score. It is OK and most people will find it exciting. Riding the coaster is something to do while in Helen. read more

Super fun! I'm a roller coaster enthusiast so I love this one too! It's kinda pricey but it's worth doing it at least once. $17 per person (13+) and then half off if you wanna ride again. I like that you can control the speed and I enjoy the mountain feeling and views. You need to put your stuff in a locker (extra $). There's a weight limit per cart of 375lbs when dry and 330lbs when wet so they'll weigh you if two people are going together. Driver will be the taller person. Don't forget to ride it if you're in Helen read more

A fun mountain coaster that offers single or dual rider options. At the beginning you receive a small demonstration and instructional video. Then before being clipped in you are reminded of the rules. The coaster is short, but it moves quickly after reaching the top. Riders can determine/ control the speed of the coaster. At the end you can see your photo taken during the ride, then exit through the gift shop. * During my visit the computers went down, so I wasn't able to purchase it. The system actually went down in the entire village so it wasn't their fault. read more

My boyfriend and I were the only ones there, went through about 5 people from checking in, to giving our receipt, to finally sitting down. We were chatting with the staff a bit then a middle aged guy came out to explain how it works, we were listening and nodding along. Then in the middle of his speech asked "English okay?" with a slight smirk as if we weren't actively listening and couldn't understand him?? Felt like a micro aggression. Weird. Made the experience very uncomfortable. How about they replace him with a video that explains how it works and guests won't have to deal with racist comments? This was such a great addition to Helen!!!! The staff is professional and friendly. While in the Queue the staff made sure everyone was aware of the rules and procedures while riding. It had recently rained so we had to keep a specific distance and the staff made sure we knew what that was and dispatched each vehicle accordingly. As for the coaster itself you have full control of how fast this can go and let me tell you these vehicle haul butt down the mountain and by the time you get to the bottom you'll be saying What the Helen!? Honestly if your in the area and can't do the river tubing you need to try this experience out. On a side note kids 54" and above can ride alone but these vehicle can ride with two if you have a little one. read more
