There were a lot of regulars at the front bar area. It felt like we stepped into Cheers. They definitely knew each other's name. The back dining room wasn't fancy but it felt warm. The owners making us feel welcomed made it that way. They made the time speak with us about the menu and took their time. They did not rush us. My wife told Ana that her favorite pierogi was mushroom and onions. Ana said it was off menu but she had it so we ordered it. We also ordered the Brazilian BBQ for 2. It consisted of slices of steak covered with chimichurri sauce; bbq chicken in what I believe is a garlic Molho de Alho sauce; the third and last item was linguica, Brazilian sausage. They were ask very good and delicious. My favorite would be the bbq chicken in the garlic sauce. Second was the bbq steak and last but not least was the linguica. The sausage being last doesn't mean it wasn't good. It was very good but i think the sauces on the steak and the chicken bright then over the top. We also had a creme brûlée dessert that was topped with chopped coconuts. That was an exceptional way to finish our meal. I lamented to Ana that I wished they had polish stuffed cabbage. She promised to make it for me if I came back. Next chance I get, I will call ahead and let her know I'm coming in the next day and have her make it. I can't wait to see how she does with it.

They were tiny; think College Dive Bar 25 cent Wednesday Wing Night small with a thin coating of meek mild sauce. Not sure what it was tbh. The bartender asked how they were after a bit. I looked at her, shrugged, and said, "Eh..." She seemed perfectly content with that answer. I ate three wings and stopped. When she asked if I wanted them wrapped, I said no. After decades in the service industry, I've learned that a customer who barely touches their food and doesn't want a box is a huge red flag. I didn't want to outright complain because I know what it's like to deal with customers in the service industry. I almost never complain. I hoped my reaction would've opened a door for me to discuss. Apparently not. When I got up to leave, after paying and tipping 20%, I mentioned that the wings had been pretty terrible. Rather than showing any curiosity, she immediately became defensive and suggested it was my fault for not saying something sooner. I explained that between the shrug, the "eh," and leaving most of the order untouched, I thought I'd communicated my opinion fairly clearly. Her response was essentially, "You were on your phone the whole time. I didn't want to bother you." The tone was super condescending whether she realized it or not. Also it's a strange conclusion to jump to. People can be on their phones for reasons other than scrolling social media. In my case, I was coordinating a surprise graduation effort with coworkers and discussing student gifts. Regardless, a customer quietly eating three wings out of an order and pushing the plate away should probably warrant more attention than whether they're looking at a screen. To be fair, she makes a very good Old Fashioned. Credit where it's due. At $16 each, though, I probably would've stopped at two had I known. I just assumed the pricing would be more in line with the rest of town. Three modest sized Makers Mark old fashioneds and five bar wings- 72 bucks. 85 with tip despite the vibe she gave. She was still working and deserves correct pay despite being generally unpleasant. And as I don't know if she was having an off day- I also wouldn't jump to conclusions about a Person- it's almost never right to tip less than 20%.

Overall it wasn't bad. Went lunch time on a Friday. Very busy which was nice to see for a local place. This was probably my 9 or 10th time here. I am confused as too why the help constantly changes. The owner seems nice enough to work for and many of the girls that have worked there seemed to be good workers and were knowledgeable so I can't imagine why the constant staff change. I guess that is part of the reason I gave this place only 2 stars. The other reasons were the pricing, organization, wait time and the tables were dirty and the help seemed uninterested. This place has been here long enough and basic things should run smoother. I waited almost 30 minutes for my lunch and it came out before my friend's. They should have that figured out after 6+ years. The pricing makes no sense. It costs more for a side of potatoes than a side of bacon and a buttered bagel is the same price as a bagel with cream cheese. I noticed it's a new menu so maybe they haven't fixed the errors or misprints yet. The food is good, always fresh. That's why it is a shame to have these other things not figured out by now. Will I return? Yes. Why wouldn't I, its the only place like it in town. read more

The Pizza Beast stopped into Iron Cafe and this place absolutely delivered. Breakfast was outstanding from start to finish.
