I first came to SugarCoat after avoiding gel manicures since 2010 (or whenever it was first invited). I think I've only done gel manicures 2x in my life and Lord the damage to my nails was so terrible that it was enough for me to just stay away. However, regular manicures take forever and don't last, so after much research and prayer, I ventured to Sugarcoat. During my first appointment I was very candid with Nat about my distrust of gel manicures and how much I cared about the health of my nails. Not only was Nat understanding, but she explained to me why her process was different and what I should expect during the gel-removal. In short, I've been a customer for about 9 months and I will never turn back! Ladies (and/or gents), if you care about the health of your nails and want a quality manicure and pedicure TRUST Nat to deliver every time! Above all else, after taking a break from gel manicures, my nails maintained their strength. I wish I photographed my last manicure - it was BEAUTIFUL and my nails were still strong! Nancy, asking for my original nail tech. I was told he no longer works there. I told her what I wanted, and the woman Tiffany continued to stand there eagerly waiting to have me assigned to her. Nancy said Tiffany could do my nails. I sat down and Tiffany started rushing through my nails in an abrasive manner. She continued to ignore anything I said because she was rushing and was annoyed. She started sticking my hands in the dip, I stopped her and told her I never asked for dip, I want acrylic tips. She messed up multiple times for rushing, even cutting the thumb acrylic tips at an awkward angle and she had to redo them. Once the nails were done, she tells me someone else will do my toes because she has an appointment. I told her, that was why you were rushing. She then proceeds to get angry, start yelling and being belligerent. She starts speaking in her native tongue and making a scene. I pull out my phone to record her and then she runs to the back. At this point, I am pissed but still have to get my toes done. The manager assigned me to another woman who was nice, but it was completely uncomfortable to sit there. The woman Tiffany waited a few minutes before coming out. I spoke to the manager about her horrible behavior and she seemed unfazed about it and also didn't offer any solution . As a woman of color, I would especially avoid this place. The way this woman behaved was completely harmful and could have put me in a situation to have to defend myself if I had matched her energy and the police would have been involved.
