I first came to SugarCoat after avoiding gel manicures since 2010 (or whenever it was first invited). I think I've only done gel manicures 2x in my life and Lord the damage to my nails was so terrible that it was enough for me to just stay away. However, regular manicures take forever and don't last, so after much research and prayer, I ventured to Sugarcoat. During my first appointment I was very candid with Nat about my distrust of gel manicures and how much I cared about the health of my nails. Not only was Nat understanding, but she explained to me why her process was different and what I should expect during the gel-removal. In short, I've been a customer for about 9 months and I will never turn back! As the other reviewer said too, the gentleman who runs the salon is always a pleasure. Super nice and very hospitable. Lastly, they make it easy to book online with them. I am bad about planning ahead and often remember that I need my nails and toes done late at night. Never an issue with them given the seamless online booking system. My new go to place.

Because I have experienced gel and when you remove the gel it weakens your nails. I finally got to a point where my nails were feeling better. I asked him 3 times not to use the dremel. He used it anyway.He feeling like he knows better than me.I asked for no polish, he put on clear polish. I'm sure he was thinking he was doing me a favor but the communication,is shit. I really should've got up and walked out, but I didn't. I needed the manicure because I'm going away now.
