I really wanted to have a good experience here, especially because the woman at the front desk was very nice and welcoming when I arrived. Unfortunately, the service itself was extremely concerning.
The woman who washed my hair seemed to have difficulty understanding what I was asking for. I specifically asked for a good, strong shampoo and scalp scrub. She kind of giggled when I asked and barely scrubbed my hair, but I decided to let that go.
When we moved to the styling station, I showed her a photo of exactly what I wanted and she said she understood. She began drying my hair, but before my hair was even fully dry or blown out, she put a HOT CURLING IRON directly onto my still-wet hair.
I immediately jumped and told her, "No, no!" She responded that she had told me she was going to curl it. The issue wasn't that she was curling my hair -- the issue was that my hair was STILL WET. Anyone using hot tools on hair should know how damaging and unsafe that can be.
At that point, I was no longer comfortable allowing her to continue and decided to leave. I still offered to pay for the shampoo service, even though I wasn't happy with it. They initially tried to charge me $20, which I refused considering the experience. Thankfully, the woman at the front desk was understanding and charged me $10 instead.
The front desk staff was kind, but unfortunately I cannot recommend the hair services based on my experience. Putting a hot curling iron directly onto wet hair was enough for me to immediately end the service and leave. read more
