I had a bad experience at Paradise nails today. The manicurist was harsh, aggressive and pushy. I told her I had a fractured foot. She pulled and handled my foot very rough. She didn't speak to me except to ask if I would give her a big tip. I asked her to wax my eyebrows but I stressed to her that my skin is sensitive. She burned my eyelids and tore the skin off. I felt pain immediately but didn't mention anything. I gave her a $20 tip. While driving home I was horrified to see that my eyelid skin was torn off! I called to speak with the manicurist whose name I don't know. I described her and the person on the phone told me that everybody left. He, Henry, would not let me speak to the manager. When I left the salon was full but Henry did not give the phone to anyone who would listen to me. I am so disappointed and would never go back there! read more

I almost never leave reviews and I hate leaving bad reviews but I can't do it anymore. I can't go here. I have been going to this salon for years- I continue to give it a chance. I live a couple streets over so it is very convenient but I refuse to go back. Rose did my nails (at least that was the name on her file machine.) She took FOREVER to do my gel manicure and then my nail chipped within the day. I went back the next day to get it fixed and she said "What did you do?," as if I intentionally broke my own nail. She did my ONE nail again and I left. Since that day, two more nails have chipped but I can't go back. It is too torturous. Also, they claimed to "not have" smaller change so I had to over tip for her crappy job. I was so angry and then three nails broke. The only techs worth going to are Megan and Ben, in my opinion. I used to come to this place all the time for a pedicure. I don't know what happened to customer service, quality, training of staff, or even basic understanding of how to file and paint nails. I'm a nurse who is on my feet all day, and also run and exercise everyday. So I do keep my nails short. I asked her just to keep them short and straight across. Some how she took this as let's cut off half the toe nail. When she finished pairing my toes I looked at my big toe. I thought it was a joke. I asked her what happed to my nail? You wanted it short. I said something quietly to the girl at the front who saw there was a problem. The owner was going to credit me back part of the price. Then when another lady and the girl that did my nails saw me they came up. Not speaking English, then turned to me, and said: you said you wanted it like that. Me: who would want their nail to look like this? I am not one to fight. I said I'm not fighting with you, leave it. It still baffles me that this is customer service. She speaks to the other nail tech in another language in front of my face then turn to fight me. She lied so that she won't look bad. Then says she asked if I wanted it this short and I said yes. Unfortunately, this was one of the most painful and uncomfortable experiences I've ever had and to make matters worse, it was expensive. As soon as the pedicure began, the technician immediately started cutting into the corner of my big toe. While I understand that ingrown nails are sometimes addressed at nail salons, I believe it's essential that technicians respect had clearly requested that my ingrown nails not be cut, yet she proceeded anyway. When I voiced my concern, she began yelling at me in another language, insisting on her 10 years of experience.... She cut my nails so short to the point that i'm a bit concerned about when they grow back. They look uneven and I am in pain. There's absolutely no reason someone should leave a nail salon in pain, especially when the service involves an unnecessary medical procedure that should ONLY be handled by a licensed doctor or professional. Walked in off the street and as I chose the color a nail technician came up to me and greeted me telling me to join her at back of studio for my pedi. No Long wait and it seemed courteous service. A lot of comfy massage chairs and techs to tend to all of us 18 in the studio at the hour I was here. My tech was all about speed and get this over with. She did listen to me to not cut cuticle but she was rude in her replies yo my requests. I would return here it's clean, quick, good polish brands and pleasant atmosphere, but my tech at the end -and even with a $10 tip for a $35 mani pedí- was rude, did a sloppy job and used an old bottle of polish on me. When I told her one finger was lumpy she said ok and proceeded to remove all the polish!! Ouch! Do not go to Alina for a pedicure. She cut so much on the corners of my big toe nails that they hurt. She almost cut me. Besides that it's very expensive for a bad job. The only reason I came here was because I got a gift card. After reading the bad reviews on Yelp as I sat there, getting my nails done. I realized that I was probably at risk of being hurt or getting a shitty toenail job....got both. The disposable sandals they give you are useless. Linda is my usual nail tech and I'm happy with her, but when she's not available I have no other preference. Because aside from Linda, I don't think anyone else cares about the customers. I just received my last pedicure there. I don't know the lady's name who took care of me (because she didn't speak to me) She began the service by working on my DRY feet. She didn't allow me to soak my feet before beginning. After dry scraping my cuticles and clipping my nails, she had me soak my feet in cool, un-jetted water. She did a decent paint job. I didn't complain because I don't believe it will change anything there. It's just how this particular business runs. If you can find your "person" there, that's great. My daughter wanted a dip manicure and was very specific about what she wanted! My usual tech got sick and I couldn't do my nails. I needed them the same day because we were going to a birthday party. So I decided to pass by the closest to me nail salon. This "Paradise" nail salon is sooo bad, sooo bad, mama mia. It should called "paradise of the ugliest nails and sloppy job". Total failure. The lady which was doing my nails was nice, but 100% unprofessional and she has no idea how to do the nails. All my nails are bumpy, uneven. Each nail has a big bump on the end. Edges are horrible, ugly and far from cuticle. Looks like already one or two weeks regrown nails. Honestly I think these type of salons should be closed, but it's Miami, 95% of them are like this. ALERT this is dangerous: they are using oil with brush. It's totally against Heath code. Cuticle oil in salons MUST HAVE pipette. When they use brush on the customer with infection or fungus, it stays in the oil. And after they put it on you and other thousands of people. All manicure tools are dirty, work place is dirty. I'm going to report them to the health department but in this city it might be useless. I didn't complain because I knew that for them it's fantastic work, like top top. They won't even understand what's wrong because they don't know how a good nail job look like. So just stay away if you don't want to get infection and the ugliest nails in the world. read more

My past experiences here weren't always great, but I was very lucky to find Nick during my most recent visit to the salon. He hasn't worked there in a few years, but he's back now and he is definitely who you want doing your mani/pedi, especially if you want perfect acrylic or gel nails! I'm very happy with the service that Nick provided, and I love my nails look thin and natural (exactly the way I like them). If you want a great mani/pedi, ask for Nick. As a bonus, he's very friendly, nice, and fun to talk with. - Update: I recently stopped doing acrylic nails, but if you want the best, natural looking acrylic nails, ask for Q.
