I've had several awful experiences recently in trying to get my various eye care services. It's been cause for real cynicism. But Invision Optometry really did restore my confidence in optometric care. I just picked up my new glasses today, and they were fitted with my first progressive lenses as well. I'd bought my own frame and brought it to Invision to fill the prescription I was given there, and get new lenses. I was quite gratified to receive a wonderfully mounted pair of lenses, in perfect alignment for axis, and while my first experience with progressive lenses, I had no trouble. My vision is crystal clear, and I'm learning how to use progressives by pointing my nose at what I want to focus on. (Ha ha! It is just like that. You lose some peripheral vision in exchange for the technology of a progressively powered lens, correcting from far to near without lines or sudden demarcations of correction.) Two opticians helped me and were very patient with all my questions: Carolyn (who fitted me for progressive lenses and discussed their use) and Esmerelda (who delivered the finished glasses to me). They were very courteous and informative. The office offers state of the art diagnostic equipment and technology. Finally, having finished with Invision using their optical lab to fabricate my lenses, I can heartily recommend the company. I'm exceptionally pleased. read more

I first came here 2021 because it was closer to home than LensCrafters. The first time was such a breeze and everyone was so helpful. I came in for contacts and I was in and out with a prescription all in the same day. I used one of the contact brands they recommended. I don't use contacts everyday, I only buy them for when I go snowboarding. So I really didn't have a preference. This last time I actually took some time to research contacts. I found some that might help me switch me over so that I could stop using my frames. I scheduled an appointment to have an eye exam for these new contacts--2022. When I finally advised the Dr. I wanted a specific brand and type of contacts she was quick to try to deter me. Said to me these contacts would require more work (cleaning them daily). I assured her I was aware and still wanted to proceed with the contacts I mentioned. She pushed back again and I repeated I really wanted to try them if the only set back was that I would need to clean them daily. This felt very sales for me. Felt like since I didn't use the brand they are probably contracted with, thats they weren't as pleasant and helpful as last time. I was left very uncomfortable after that interaction and everything that followed just seemed to make matters worse. I was told that my contacts would need to be ordered and I would need to come back to try them on. No biggie. 2 weeks later I didn't hear anything from them, so I called for an update and was told still waiting on shipment. Another week later (3 weeks now) still didn't hear from them, I call and they advise they only received one contact. Okay, no big deal. 5 weeks later and still nothing other than other contact had been shipped. 6 weeks later they finally call me to schedule something a week out to go and try my contacts with an employee. When I used their recommended brand I didn't need an appointment I was able to just to go in, try them on and leave. But maybe their process changed, so that really didn't bother me. I know ultimately I'm responsible for my own contacts. But I paid for a service and I feel as if i should have been Invisions responsibility to follow up with me regarding the delay. Not the other way around. They didn't care for any inconvenience they may have caused; their fault or not. What if I didn't have my frames ? I rather go back to LensCrafters they have great customer service and I feel like I'm actually paying for a service they are happy to deliver. read more

It was time folks...shame on me for not realizing that when you are on the computer for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week + all the cell phone and Netflix fun my eyes have...these poor babies needed to be checked out. Did you know you should get a yearly eye exam??? Silly me, I was thinking it was every 2 years. Well..they say good things come to those who wait. Low and behold this place, I just cannot say enough amazing things about it. First off, they offer parking for their patients. Do you realize the area you are in? Offering a private parking lot! Say no more. Secondly, upon entering the building, this place is massive. Whomever selected this property was definitely on to something because the interior blew me out of the water..and that says a lot, coming from an interior designer. I was in awe at the industrial architectural details and the ambiance this place had. The pops of color, bright orange were placed so purposely. Thirdly, the staff. Really the staff is #1. Everyone was just so incredibly nice, welcoming and friendly. I truly wish every health office took notes. My exam took about 90 minutes and I felt like they truly put my eyes thru every test possible. The state of the art equipment, so NEW...sadly, this is nothing I have ever been exposed to or ever seen in my life. I just sat in amazement at all the tests that I got to partake in, it was exciting and I truly felt like they were looking at every single part of my eyeball...literally. I took part in the new NEUROLENS equipment and let's just say that was awesome. Google NEUROLENS if you are not familiar. I am not sure any other eye doctor out here in San Diego is offering this. It's one of a kind, I am telling you. Big shout out to "MEENA" and NIC. (not sure I spelled her name correctly). She was in training and Nic was just a superstar. His knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm was just so appreciated. Nic is SO talented at his job, I felt as though he knew everything about eyes and when he spoke you could just tell Nic truly knew his stuff. This man takes his job seriously and goes above and beyond. Everyone was just such a pleasure. I shall say no more, if you need to get an eye exam..which chances are you are DUE for one folks, simply come here to thee BEST. I mean it. They accept insurance and if they do not take your insurance, when I say go the private cash pay route...please, your eyes will THANK YOU. Dr. Morgan and his awesome technician Randy gave me the most thorough eye exam I've ever had, explained everything clearly, and really made me feel good about my visit. I found the perfect frames and felt good about the experience. Having progressive lenses, I wasn't surprised at the cost - they are definitely not the cheapest game in town even with insurance, but competitive enough that I felt it was worth it. read more

The office was able to fit me for an unscheduled emergency exam within two hours after I noticed unusual redness and swelling on my eyeball. After very comprehensive evaluation by Dr, Michael it turned out to be a non-urgent burst blood vessel causing significant but common blood pooling on the whites of my eye. Although scary at first, the diagnosis and detailed explanation by the Doctor assured me that despite the blood it was simply the eye already healing itself which was quite a relief. I've been to this office several times before for routine visits and already had very high regard. After this non-typical experience I simply couldn't give higher recommendation. I came to Invision Optometry because my previous optometry office was fully booked until December and I has wanted to get my eyes checked before then. The website for this practice is very well created, user friendly, show cased the doctors that work there and even lets you make an appointment. The online appointment process was easy and wonderful. The COVID-19 protocols at this office was above expectations. Aside from the usual questionnaire, temperature taking and hand sanitizing, I also had to wash my hands (along side with the intern conducting the examination with the high tech instruments prior to the doctor coming into the room). My intern was Bailey and he was very friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable from the get-go. I had chosen Dr. Kathryn Ordonez (Dr. O as she goes by) and she was wonderful. Dr. O took the time to explain the test results and what each one is used to measure. She made sure I understood everything as I've not needed glasses before and now just needed a little help with reading small texts in close range. Dr. O made me feel quite welcome and at home - like it was a regular return visit when it was in fact just my first time there. The frame specialist was very helpful and recommended some fame styles since I had no clue what to select since glasses are new to me. It was nice to be able to go to a separate part of the office and try on the frames we selected without my mask on. This was an absolutely wonderful experience for me and I can't stress enough what a great optometry office this is - from the friendly receptionists to Dr. O! I will be recommending Invision Optometry to everyone that I know! read more

It had been a very long time between eye appointments. When I called in they already had my new insurance on file and schedule me something within a few days. Seamless. When I got there I checked in and did not wait anymore than 5 mins. Briana greeted me as the technician and checked me in. She had a great attitude. She reviewed my file and confirmed a lot of information I could not recall. I am so fortunate they are the organized ones lol. Dr Ordonez was so patient with me while going through the exam. Wow! Invision provided a top tier experience throughout my visit! I started with Brenda and she instantly brightened my day with her energy and smile. It was my first time to this office so she talked me through all the tests and made it really easy and actually kinda fun. Then I saw Dr. Meagher and she was also super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I could tell she really cares about my eye health instead of just taking my prescription. Then she took me out to pick out my glasses with Michaela who was also top tier! The reason for this review is to give a big shout out to Evonne for fixing my glasses that got tweaked by another business that I brought my glasses to to repair a screw that fell out. Unfortunately she also tightened the other screw and screwed( no pun intended) my glasses up and I didn't realize until I got home. Long story short, Evonne fixed my glasses and I am so happy. My daughter and I have been coming to Invision Optometry for at least 4 years, following the recommendation of a long-time customer. This is a one-stop-shop for your eyecare needs! So far, most visits have been great. The Receptionist is always friendly! She promptly greets us, offers beversges and let's us know someone will be with us shortly. There is a large window where the Assistants/ Technicians sit - from my experience, they are always watching for patients to arrive and promptly come to get us and begin the exam process before the Doctor takes over. I will warn that you should watch out for the upsell as they have equipment for "special" exams, which can be annoying... You can simply decline extra services if you decide. After the exam is complete, there's a sales area and Associate/ Technician, which allows for picking out glasses and frames. Their selection is expansive, with hundreds of options and various price points to choose from.  Again, it's best to know your insurance coverages, budget and check the prices of frames before falling in love with them as this would make for a much more pleasant experience. You can also ask to have your prescription printed and shop around. Overall, the staff is friendly and the office is nicely decorated/ set up to create an efficient flow. You meet with at least 4 people during each visit, so be prepared to be at the office for at least 1 hour. read more

I've never been to a more thorough optometrist since I've been in SD (almost 30 years) they found things that even Shiley eye center never found. Got glasses that were great and looked great on me, that were covered under my insurance. Also just went there to get my center pads on either side of my nose, since wearing a mask knocked it off.. didn't charge me anything... I totally will recommend them to everyone!!! read more

I am 58 so let me say I have been to a few eye DR's in my lifetime. THIS ONE IS THE BEST! The location, ease in making an appointment, the parking, and the stylish office with just basic fair pricing is a great start but the STAFF IS SECOND TO NONE!!! All of the Dr's I have seen at this location took the time to explain and really run the tests to see what my current vision status is, not just depend on the last tests.
