I purchased a 24'x17' standalone garage from Interstate Steel in July of 2025. It's a nice garage but I would not purchase another from this company. The reasons are 1) It took over 5 months from when I ordered it to get it installed. 2) When I had an issue with a leaking roof they told me they wouldn't do anything about it because I had tried to seal the leak from the inside with rubber sealant (I had tried to seal it myself because it was probably going to be 5 months or more before they came back out). 3) They used screws on the roof that had rubber coated washers on them but even still I think that's where my leak was coming from. I ended up having to go up on the roof and seal every single seam from the overlapping metal and every single screw. 4) I had to seal around the window and the door jam because they both leaked a fair amount. 5) They garage uses a roll up door which leaves a few inch gap at the top that can't be sealed and I've only been able to find one automatic garage door opener that might potentially work on this roll up door and it's about $1,600 and needs to be professionally installed. 6) To have a more finished look on the inside it needs to be framed and walled adding to the cost of the overall garage set up. If you haven't started your project I would seriously consider looking at a stick build over a metal garage, even if the initial cost is higher. read more

Purchased a 30 x 50 steel building. i used a third party for ordering. told them i want to finish half of inside in the future foe living area. Its 1 year later and i am trying to get permit through county for living area. county will not issue permit because the building plans are use U and need to b R3. Imterstate buildings will not make changes to plans. They will not adjust for city or county. Generic plans only. I now need to hire a local Engineer to maybe make changes. I will never use this company again and i sugest u dont either. read more

I don't take the time to leave reviews normally but I don't want anyone to experience what I have with Interstate Steel Structures. They are quick to take your money and then their work stops there. They lost my file, put the wrong information and design in my file, increased my bill without telling me halfway through the process. After fixing those issues, several times due to a lack of communication within the company, I regrettably continued with the installation process. My building has large leaks when it rains in exactly 6 locations! My building is not usable in rainy weather, water everywhere...5 windows leak and a seam in the roof leaks, damaging the property I'm storing. I've had to visit Interstate's office personally on four occasions because nobody cares, they already have your money. They do not answer the phones constantly and never return voice messages. I have email after email that have been either ignored or they tell me they will contact me the following week...but they never do. It is so selfish. They went as far as to make an appointment for me to have the repairs done, I take off work for that day...nobody shows up or even calls me to cancel the repairs...I lose a full day of pay at work...I call and they say I can meet a manager at they office in 30 minutes... I drive down to the office only for them to say nobody is here at the office, we will contact you next week. There are so much more details, just wanted to be transparent and inform you all. read more

We had two neighbors who used this company and each were highly satisfied. They discussed their structure options & choices which helped us through the process. We contracted directly with the company. Their website does a lot toward initial design but the home owner MUST be proactive regarding measurements, design features (where you need openings for home doors/windows etc.), and confirming the order meets the product you want as they do not sent anyone out until the installation crew comes. Their sales representatives are often not directly reachable but we were eventually contacted. Their purchase contract was involved and raised concerns but the satisfaction of our neighbors provided confidence. I entered into a contract with these folks near the end of May 2024. I was supposed to take delivery in 6-8 weeks, which was acceptable. They had a crew of 3 individuals come to my property on 7/18/24, and the drivers vehicle overheated and they claimed they could not perform the install. After numerous emails and calls to their facility, i was informed last week (week of 8/5/24) that they would not do the install and rather, they would drop off the materials close to my facility, and I could install it myself, which is unacceptable to me. In anticipation of the shed install, I did in fact tear down my old 12x12 wooden shed, had the location professionally graded, thus my belongings have been left out in the weather for over 2 months. I now have to locate a small crew of installers to install this shed, and I have to pay a local individual to bring the shed components to my property. I have been orking with Gerard and a colleague of his colleague, Patty. The GM kept being referenced, but I do not know this individual's name. They had me send them as video of my road to the installation site. My road is frequently travelled by contractors of all types including large propane and septic cleaning trucks. read more

I purchased a carport from this company and had it installed in February 2022. Overall the experience was OK, considering it during the Covid era, and I was pleased with the results. Unfortunately in February 2024, the entire carport blew over during a wind storm. Turns out the 10 square upright posts were only welded in two places to the base and all the welds broke during the storm. I wonder if they were welded on all four sides if the carport would still be standing. When I contacted them after the storm they said to contact my insurance company. I will not use them to rebuild. read more

This company has over 48 complaints against them at the Department of Consumer Affairs, multiple complaints against them at the BBB (where they are not accredited). When they fail to do their job they try to blame their own incompetence on the customer. They run their business using Non Disclosure Agreements because they don't want you to use your First Amendment Rights to tell anyone what they do. They spend more money on attorneys than getting the job done. Complaints are now filed in multiple states with multiple officials. All they had to do was get the job done or refund the money. Don't let them bully you or deprive you of your First Amendment Rights. The sales staff was nice and helpful during the design and sales process. But after that it was very difficult to get any help from anyone. After finally getting ahold of someone they were able to put me in touch with the Engineer, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. When installation day finally arrived, no one showed up that morning and would not show up until after 3:00pm. (Due to over scheduling). The next day the installation crew arrived and worked very hard and finished the assembly in 5 very long days. (30x40x16 building). Within about a month or so, one of the large roll up doors broke, it took almost a month to get someone out to fix it. I live 6 miles from their shop. Communication was poor and there was no shortage of sorry excuses. The manager to this day refuses to take my calls or return my messages. Definitely make sure you are 100% satisfied before making final payment!! Because as my story shows, when the bill has been paid, the customer service stops! read more

BEWARE!! This company is shady and deserves 0 stars and to be boarded up by the county (Riverside, CA)! They do not pull permits, then they do not respond when you run into problems and need help getting something permitted. Look at their license on CA Contractors website...so many violations and they ALL make sense! BEWARE of this company!! They have another lawsuit and more complaints coming, that is a fact. They built a large shop building for a prior owner, and now they refuse to assist us in straightening out the issues from that un-permitted and unlicensed work they did. It is a mess! The first thing that happened when they showed up they ran across my landscaping and heir my gate and brick wall. The building went up quickly and the erectors were friendly and energetic The final inspection was rushed and not very complete. After they left I noticed a roll up door would not close or open properly and the man door jamb was not installed properly. I called ad reported the issues. Should have read the reviews before signing with this company. Its been close to two months and I'm still waiting on my structure (Originally stated two weeks out) The lack of communication has been the worst. Unfortunately I had two other quotes and those contractors are already on their 3 or 4th structure since I kindly declined their bids. Its been 21/2 months and I'm finally getting this installed, however why would I expect them to finally do something right and show up on time. Interstate Steel Structures built a large RV Carport for me several years ago. I called them today to see if they would add a gable end to my unit as I no longer need a full opening and now want it modified by adding a brace and some additional aluminum. Not a huge job. Their office staffer said they wouldn't do the work because they couldn't guarantee it but would be willing to sell me the material and I could do it myself or hire a handy man. Very disappointing . I paid this company somewhere around $5k to build the original structure and now offer to pay them to modify it and they turned down the work. Unbelievable in today's economy that a Valley Business would turn down work. Especially from a former customer. I would not recommend Interstate Steel Structures of San Jacinto. Warning they misrepresent! Their salesman Jeff Marriott seems great & nice but says anything (even BS) to get the sales. Took them forever to get the job started, couldn't get anyone on the telephone for weeks, excuses! everyone was sick, hurt or busy. Jeff promise i could pay it all with my Visa, yet omitted the company would charge me $89 for using my credit card. Since they took so long to get started we had to leave town, they built it while we were gone, I got a call for payment four month later. I said "i need to inspect it first before i pay"... they said "NO we need payment NOW" very rudely. I said Jeff promise me pictures before i paid... their response "Jeff hurt his back he cant".. I said "well i pay you half now and when i get pictures i'll pay the rest"... response "NO pay NOW".. I should of not paid, and have them take me to court see how long that would of taken! , but i did pay it all right there.. After i paid I called Jeff asking him what happen to the pictures , Jeff then insulted me telling me that i spoke to loud! wth? ( am Latin that's they way we talk) so he was rude and then hung up on me.. Well i need to build another steel structure for my second motor home! but i want use them.. Just had ISS install a 15x26 carport alongside my garage. Total time from arrival to driving away was less than 90 minutes. The entire crew was polite, professional, and moved quickly to get my structure up. It was evident that they were competent and worked very well together. No swearing, no spitting, just working. Before they left, all 3 walked around the area they were working and picked up dropped screws, metal shards, etc. Communication with the office was as thorough as it needed to be, and any questions I had were answered within a more than reasonable time period. read more

I would give them 0 stars if this was a choice. They are horrible and crooked. They put up a garage for me, and each time I look closer at the construction I find more and more wrong. First they did not build the building to the engineered plans and it would not pass inspection. It took 2.5 months for them to return to fix the problems caused by the incorrect construction/assembly. Now I've found they didn't even use the same dimension materials specified by the engineered plans. I'm not sure the building is anywhere near meeting the necessary strength to provide snow load, wind load, and seismic saftey needed for my area. They were terrible to try to get back to the job site to correct the mistakes, actually stating that they 'did not have to follow the engineered plans'. Horrible, horrible company. read more

Don't waste ur money. Horrible communication through the entire process. Wouldn't return phone calls, emails. Every time I called they acted like they didn't know anything about my order, or they were always "out of the office" or "in a meeting." When the crew came to do the install they worked quickly. Took them 3 days to install. They left holes in the roof, siding. Dents in the roll up doors and dented siding. Left hundreds of self tapping screws in the ground, trash hidden in the bushes. And building wouldn't pass inspection. 2 weeks later they returned to fix their mistakes and there was no apologies, installers acted hostile as if it was my fault their building wouldn't pass inspection. Ordered a building from Carport Central , the sales man was great all the way through the process . Then the scheduler scheduled the installation of the building from interstate and said it would be 2 days , they spent 3 days and not done yet and now scheduler has told me when they have a job in the area I said next week she said no . It seems to me they don't care when it gets done . This was March 4-5 2020 I waiting for a call . They called me on Monday March 9 to get the balance for building , they didn't know it wasn't done ? When I told them they didn't say we will get Back out there and get it done They said will let you know ?? Also was told on both monday and Tuesday manager would call that afternoon I still have not been called . I am happy with building so far but had to take off work last week and will have to take off work again to inspect building when it is done and I live 300 Miles away . We purchased a steel rv garage form this company and they came all the way to Kingman Arizona to install it. They showed up even early for appointment and the 3 workers were awesome. They were very professional and hard hard workers they all worked very well as a team. They amazed me how they had this big rv shed up in about 3 1/2 hours we could not believe it but they have it down and each guy has his own responsibility.
