Jamie was so wonderful to work with! He is so professional, reliable, talented, kind and flexible. We even had to make some spontaneous alterations to our original plan, based on community regulations, and Jamie just happily adjusted. I would definitely recommend Jamie without hesitation and would hire him again without a second thought. read more

Great customer service and a nice looking shed. Simply put these guys had easy scheduling (I expected a few month wait during COVID times), communicated when the install got closer and one guy had the shed done with no issues less than 7hrs later. They cleaned the area after the install and were very accommodating to my requests. I would defiantly use them again and recommend them to friends in the future. read more

Great customer service. Very flexible with my needs based on what I was aiming for. Got a very high quality product that I am converting into a mini outbuilding for multipurpose usage that will no doubt impress anyone if I end up selling my home. Jamie is who helped me and I was very impressed with his professionalism and willingness to make a couple of trips to the hardware store to satisfy me being picky about some minor additions. I definitely recommend them and I plan on being a return customer for another project. A+ read more

Jamie was fantastic to work with. He was patient as the project was delayed and responded to my many questions, job-specific requests, and changes quickly and clearly. He built the 16ft x 10ft shed in 1.5 days, in the time frame I requested. As the son of a builder, I recognize his work quality and attention to detail as highly professional. The cost remained as quoted; there were no surprises. Thanks again, Jamie! read more

I love those guys. Great quality work, everything on time, without any glitches.Exactly what we had in mind.

Folks, bring your patience because this crew is booked out for several months. That being said, I can attest that it is well worth the wait! Our date finally arrived last week and Jaime showed up promptly at 7am with a truck bed full of lumber (there is no pre-fab here!) Jaime quickly went to work and by lunchtime, he had nearly completed my small 5X10 shed. Jaime is quick, efficient, and clean. I am very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship and highly recommend Jaime to anyone looking for a shed. I'm also somewhat skeptical about 5-star yelp reviews because sometimes companies are enticing people to submit a positive review. I'm happy to report that nobody from Outback even mentioned the word "yelp", their reviews are 100% earned! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

We had 2 new sheds installed by Jamie and we were VERY impressed by his work. He works hard to ensure he can complete your project as soon as possible. Jamie is reliable and punctual! Jamie is the guy to call for any outdoor shed needs!! read more

Jamie was great. He came to our property and sized things up. We agreed on a shed size and configuration, and a price which was very reasonable compared with some of the other companies which quoted. Other companies said they couldn't work in that tight space, or they couldn't position the doors and windows where I wanted them. His schedule was full, so the build was slated for several weeks from that time. Apparently he had a cancellation because he was able to build a week early. He showed up all by himself and built this great little shed in just two days. It's even better than I had anticipated! read more

7 year update - still very satisfied with the shed, it's going strong and used daily. Original review- We ordered a 14x14, tall gable shed from Outback Wood Products and are very happy. I called on a weekend and Michael answered the phone. He was courtous and answered all of our questeions in a professional manner. We had looked at getting a Tuff Shed but decided to go with Outback because for about the same price we got so much more than what Tuffshed wanted for a 10x12 with the style and options we wanted but would have been slightly shorter. Michael called the day before he was going to arrive just as a reminder to me and to fill me in on their schedule. At ~7:30 the next morning he arrived with his crew and got to work. When I came home from work the shed was built and we were able to start painting. He did put off doing the shingles until the next day because the heat and humidity was just atrocious that day but it was understandable. As he promised, early the next day they finished the shingling. The shed is very sturdy, attractive and seems to be quite flush. I'm very happy with the results and would recommend them. I will update with photos later. read more

Mike and Jeremy built us a beautifully studio custom shed. They are they fastest in town right now. We tried another company and the wait time is over 1 yr. We contacted Mike back in June 2020 and got our custom shed in 4 weeks. Mike went over the spec and drawing with us over the phone and email. 4 weeks later he and Jeremy shown up at 7 am in the morning with all the pre-cut material on his track and completed most of work by noon on day one. They show again 7 am next day and completed the entire job by 10 am. Highly recommended for any type of custom shed. read more

Several years ago, Mike of Outback Sheds built a custom shed for our non-profit facility in Balboa Park. It has served us very well, but it turns out we needed a modification to allow access through the side of the shed. Jamie did a wonderful job of providing what we needed! He was very prompt, and the charge for the work was very reasonable. We recommend this business without hesitation. read more

Michael built a 10x12x12 "barn style" shed and I'm very happy with this work. He arrived on time at 7:30am and completed the job by 1:30pm. His helper flaked so he built the entire shed solo (very impressive). I took 3 bids (Tuff Shed and Shed world) and Michael's bid came in lowest without sacrificing quality. Positive reviews from fellow Yelpers helped me trust a new contractor. Outback shed is based in San Diego, but Michael was willing to do the job in Yorba Linda. I strongly recommend Outback shed under Michael's watch. read more

I just got my shed built and I love it. Jamie was awesome to work with through out the entire build process. The communication from him from the quote process to the build day was excellent. All of the lumber that was used for my shed was in great shape. Jamie built the entire 12 x 14 shed by himself in less than two days. I highly recommend Outback Sheds and especially Jamie. Excellent company to work with! I couldn't be happier with the shed. This is my first shed and I read a lot of reviews online stating shed kits at big box stores often have warped wood and poor quality hardware. I decided to go the custom route and I'm so glad I did! Jamie met me on site and together we determined the best shed size for my needs. I went with 8x8 gable style with 7 ft sides. He works so fast, shed was completed in one day (he builds on site). This shed is so sturdy and well built it feels like a tiny home. Absolutely no leaking from the rain whatsoever. He is also helping me find a latch that works for an additional lock. I HIGHLY recommend hiring them to build your shed! read more

FYI - No longer at Black Mountain Rd. He moved away about 3 years ago to Ramona. He is still in business and serves all of San Diego County. Michael was very helpful in making arrangements for me to see his work product with references, and promptly provided a very competitive quote. I will post an update if I decide to buy from Michael. Gave him 5 stars so that I could post this notice and not affect his ratings. read more

I would definitely recommend Michael to anyone looking to put a shed on their property. I thought about going with one of the big name companies, but after finding him on Yelp and reading all the great reviews, I changed my mine. And glad I did. Michael was very responsive, pleasant, professional, and fast. He built our 8x8 shed in just 4 hours. I loved that he came totally prepared with all of the materials pre-cut, prepped, and primed. All he had to do was put it all together. Very happy with the end product! If you are looking to get a shed, go with the local San Diego guy. read more

Last year we were in dire straits. We needed to move away from the tent storage we'd said was "temporary" into a more permanent structure. PreFab options were too flimsy and limited. Then we found Outback. After looking through the site we decided this is what we wanted. The price was right, the installation went flawlessly, the shed is fantastic! Perfect for our storage needs. The quality and workmanship is so much better than the PreFab nonsense they put up in a home store retail parking lot near you. And Mike is great. Professional and knowledgeable. I just wish all contractors were made from his mold. And we liked the shed so much we are in the middle of putting up two more. Maybe it is called a shed ... but to me it is the template for anything you want covered. We will soon have a gable-style, detached, all-weather room opening to our deck and a companion workroom lean-to. The shared wall may eventually come down to expand our deck room. Make the best decision and talk with Mike about how he can help you fill that space you need covered. You will not be disappointed. We'll be out in the deck room if you want us! read more

We shopped the usual shed companies and prices were all very similar. We chose Michael because his response to our request for a quote through his website was very quick and we liked the personal nature of dealing direct with him. He built us an 8x15 shed, by himself, in two days. He was able to build and fit it into a relatively small space, placing it exactly where we wanted it. He showed up on time and got right to work. Construction is top notch and he left the area cleaner than it was before he got there. I would happily recommend him to any of my friends. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Outback Wood Products. I called so many places to build my mom's guest unit and had such a hard time even getting a call back from anyone. Micheal emailed me back immediately and he and his crew came all the way to Woodland Hills from San Diego and built my mom's unit in one day. I am extremely impressed with the quality, the work ethic, the professionalism, honesty and efficiency of this company. Thanks so much Michael! read more

Outback installed two sheds for me. The quality is excellent. I compared to offerings from Home Depot and Lowe's. Their base price was similar to Outback's, but once you added in "options" like, foundation blocks, vents, shingles, and studs on 16" centers they were significantly more expensive. All these options were included in my price from Outback. The proprietor, Michael, did the work himself with one helper. They were on time (early actually) and got the job done as promised. Michael is friendly and very professional. I was happy to get such great service from a small, local business. read more

Michael and his helper just completed our 8x10 shed with amazing speed. He was easy to communicate with including scheduling a mutually convenient time for the installation. We highly recommend Michael and his products and services. read more

If you are looking to build a shed, don't bother with "shopping around" like I did. I have the right guy for you. You don't want to wait several months before the start time and then possibly end up with cheap materials. Mike Newton at "Outback Sheds" is the guy you want. He is a "shed specialist" and does nothing but sheds. He just completed a shed for me on December 3, 2019. Here are his credentials: - 30 years of experience - Dependable - Hard working - Skilled and very fast - Professional and knowledgeable - Big, strong and energetic - Uses quality materials Because of all of the above, Mike is a "one-man show." You are not paying for a middleman, helpers or office secretaries. Mike is so efficient and skilled that he can still build most sheds in a day and a half. He will also customize the shed to whatever degree you want. A big bonus with selecting Mike for your shed is that he is a gentleman and an all around nice guy. Check out his website at outbackwoodproducts.com Mike can be reached at 1-858-695-0488. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Outback Shed! Michael was extremely helpful in answering our questions based on a specific type of shed we were looking for. We made quite a few inquiries with other shed companies, but choosing Outback Shed was hands down the right choice. His prices were affordable and scheduling was available when we needed it. I was impressed with professionalism; attentive to details, timely and friendly replies back and how well he presented his product. He arrived early and worked expeditiously on getting the barn style shed (10 x 20) up in two days - by himself! Upon completion he left the area clean. Thank you Michael for doing such a FANTASTIC job and we will without hesitation pass on recommendations to come and see you. I have a feeling we will be calling you again someday. Katrina L. I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who just had an Outback Wood Products Shed built: I am very pleased with my Outback Wood Products Shed. Personal attention was given to place my shed in just the right spot and it looks like a perfect extension of my house. Michael, the owner, personally built our shed and he was so great to work with. He was so helpful and had excellent ideas. Workmanship was excellent. The shed is sturdy and looks nice as well. Would highly recommend Outback Wood Products-Sheds to everyone! read more

If I could give Mike, his efficiency, and craftsmanship TEN STARS I would. I do a lot of research before spending my money, so I was thrilled to save at least $1500 bucks on a quality-custom-solid-shed. What was also impressive was, how quickly it was accomplished! Give Mike all your measurements, and he pre-fabs in his workshop. Once on site, he assembles everything, and does whatever minor "tweaking" is necessary. I could not get over how quickly and PERFECTLY it was done! If this current shed gets a little over-crowded, I've already talked to Mike about building me another smaller one. Thanks Mike, amazing job!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Michael, Outback Sheds, is an expert craftsman who can customize a shed for you, unlike the sheds from the big warehouse home improvement stores. Michael will come to your property and look at the site and discuss how best to situate the shed. He then completes a layout sketch and a fixed price for the work. He is always on time, which is nearly unheard of in the home improvement arena. What is truly amazing is that he completely builds the shed in less than one day! I've had two built and with each one he built it methodically and quickly; he arrived at 7:45am and was done by 3:00pm. He cleans up the work space too. I highly recommend Outback Sheds, you won't find a more professional and affordable solution. read more

Michael just completed a 12x12 shed today for me. Great job, shows up on time, fast work, nice shed! I had looked at sheds from the big box stores, similar appearance. I hired Michael as he was willing to place blocks to level the ground as well as the ease with scheduling. The big box stores had terrible reviews for delivery and job completion. Also hired Michael from the stellar Yelp reviews. Glad I did! Pricing about equal, maybe a bit lower. Quality probably better since he does this for a living compared to who knows who the big box store sends to do work. Thanks Michael. read more

These guys are great! You deal directly with Michael who is the only person I've ever heard answering the phone. You pick the shed you want and they do what they say they're going to do. We are very satisfied with the 6X8 tall gable shed Michael built for us. It was a tight space, just barely big enough for the shed, but through email and phone calls he figured out it was possible and let me know what to do to prepare the site. He sent reminder emails before the day of construction, and arrived on time at 7:30 am. He was very organized and prepared and built the shed by 12:30, by himself. I had been considering building our shed myself but when I added up all the materials the total was almost as much as we ended up paid Outback Wood Products for a complete shed.
