My garden shed was installed last week. I'm still in the process of painting the interior and adding my storage hooks and other hardware, before loading it up, but am THRILLED with it! I hobbled into the Escondido showroom (recovering from a broken foot) with a list of questions and features I wanted to see "in person". Shane answered all of my questions... and then some. He showed me examples of each feature I wanted to see. He was patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Shane kept in contact throughout the process, making sure I was satisfied. Norine in scheduling was positive and patient with me, as I needed to have my existing concrete pad extended slightly before I could schedule. She made a note to call me back after my concrete work was completed.... and then she DID follow-up! Lastly, the installation - I wished I'd asked them their names. I do know the 2 gentleman were brothers, and they definitely knew how to build a shed. They made it look easy. I did some woodworking in my younger years so I appreciated the step-by-step process. I checked on their progress from time-to-time, and took a few pictures. They were patient and never made this Grandma feel like I was "in their way". And despite it being a grey day and getting late, they made sure to complete their steps, the paint touch-ups, and a thorough clean-up. All of the folks at Tuff Shed are easy to do business with. Shane was awesome with low pressure and highly informational sales. That part was easy. The rest, less so. We mentioned at time of purchase that we lived on a hill and that the access to the location might be challenging. Shane asked the requisite questions about overhead and with clearances and access so I thought we were good to go. But Tuff Shed hires third-party guys for the install. First issues was that the strap holding our flat-pack Tuff shed onto their trailer broke, so as they came up the hill, our shed was dumped into the street. Happily, no serious damage occurred. Second issue was that the installer's truck didn't have the power to pull the trailer up to the top driveway where there was a flat straight shot to the desired install location. So the installers, who were waiting for their third guy who was quite late, had to hump the walls up 5 stairs to the install location. I did not envy them, because this was in the hot lingering summer weather of September in Escondido. Third issue was that as they started installing, they found that the factory had assembled part of the shed wrong. Already feeling wronged by the hill, the extra labor, and the heat, the installers called and griped to the factory who said, "Just unassemble and reassemble it correctly." These guys were just not having a good day, I felt bad, but I also feel like we paid top dollar to Tuff Shed for the ease of the experience. Now we have tired, hot, and frustrated installers which made us concerned about their attitudes impacting the quality of the install. I plied them with Cokes and ice water and anything else I could find to ease situation. They never ranted at us. They were professional and nice, but you could tell they were having a crappy day. In the end they got it up and it looks pretty good. We chose a 6' sliding glass door, and that is crappy and doesn't slide easily or close. We observed this to the installers, but they were done, I don't blame them but it is still a drag. Overall not as good as I had hoped, but somewhat as expected. read more
