What a beautiful hotel! We stayed here our last night of our vacation and I didn't want to leave! From the time we walked into the grand lobby, exploring our huge room with an amazing view of the city and bay to the pool, we loved everything about this hotel! At check in because we are IHG members they gave us a coupon for a free Starbucks coffee/tea or $3 off a specialty drink. A very nice touch I thought! They have their fitness center and pool on the 3rd floor in a huge open area with the most gorgeous views of the city! Great places for pictures! The only thing that disappointed me was that pool area closed at 8pm which I thought was kinda early for Miami. On the same floor as the pool there was their spa which all guests have access to the steam/sauna rooms. I loved this feature! Each locker room area had their own steam/saunas to relax in. They had a large rain shower room and then private shower stalls to use. Hair dryers, robes, towels and the little amenities that just make your day easier like razors, feminine products and shower caps. Since we were only there for 1 night we did not experience their bar or restaurants but they all looked nice. There is a self parking lot right across from the hotel which we found was much cheaper than the $40 valet fee. We will definitely stay here again!! read more

The public areas are fantastic with wide expanses and attractive furnishings, bar, steak restaurant, Starbucks, Alamo and exotic car rental. The pool and connected restaurant are good but not great. The rooms, mine is a higher end one, is ok the view is a large rectangle window rather than all glass. Hence, I knocked a star off since price w parking and tax is $$$$ and competition is harsh here in Miami. The service is top drawer from housekeeping, checking in : thank you Lasha. If you are lucky he will be at the front desk. Christina was a big help at the concierge desk. All in all most everything is five star the service is 6 *. I just thought the room needed a little updating. I would suggest you do the 29th floor club room w city view for the same price. In addition, book the club amenities as part of the room rate and you will save. Otherwise club use is approx 100 a day and includes breakfast and afternoon drinks. read more

InterContinental Miami - View from my window - Hotels Near Me - Miami, Florida

Stayed here with my boyfriend because he was attending a seminar at the hotel. This hotel probably was nice back in the day but now is in some need of TLC. One word to describe...".travertine"...everywhere! The lobby area was big and had a nice feel. Lots of seating areas, decent lobby bar, and best of all... a Starbucks! Check-in was easy and convenient. Getting out of the elevator, on our floor, we noticed that the hallway had a slight musty odor. The carpet, which had a multi-colored abstract pattern, and the large light fixtures in front of the elevators looked very outdated. Once in the room, at first glance it did not look bad. But the closer we looked, we noticed that the furniture and carpeting looked worn and somewhat dirty. The room felt humid and we eventually found out that the thermostat did not work properly and the AC unit was leaking water onto the carpeting. We wanted to relax a bit and watch some TV before heading downstairs. The bedding smelled like wet dog! Yuck! ...literally like wet dog! When we left for dinner that evening, we called to make sure they changed the bedding while we were out. In the bathroom noticed that the shower grout was covered in mildew in several areas. (bathroom shower and flooring all travertine) The blow dryer was the slowest that I have every used. It was terrible getting ready to go out because it took me forever! to dry my hair. Definitely would not recommend this hotel unless you can get it for an absolute bargain. PS) Came home with a sore throat and boyfriend ended up getting a sinus infection. Wonder if it was from the hotel? read more

Beautiful hotel - both inside and out. Pool area has tons of seating and a bar for drinks. All the staff is super friendly and hospitable. Some reviews say that the rooms are dated but that's not the case. I am so pleased with our choice to stay here - and will definitely book my stay here again before my next cruise. And there's a ton of eye candy here ;) read more

I really like this hotel. The location is ideal to reach bayside (which I don't care for) and Mary Brickell Village which is one of my fav spots in downtown Miami. The front desk staff is very friendly and will accommodate most of your requests. Robert out front keeps the cars moving and remembered me from my last visit in February! The lobby bar is a bit expensive but typical for a downtown hotel. He does make a mean Mojito! I haven't been to the gym but will be checking that out later. read more

Ms Newman made me feel at home. As stated before, food is excellent and customer service is exemplary. Must visit.

This hotel is the worst in downtown. Stay away from them. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. They nickel & dime you for everything and charge guests a daily "resort fee." Cruisline Passengers alert: Stay away from the hotels downtown (especially this one), in Miami Beach, and Brickell who charge high prices for mediocre and terrible service. Stay in hotels near the airport which are far cheaper, offer complimentary breakfast, don't charge for WiFi, have self service parking or cheaper valet, & include all customary amenities such as gym and pool use in your nightly rate. Intercontinental Miami is owned by IHG based in the UK. Leadership and management have no concept of US customer service standards. Do not even bother engaging with the GM Robert Hill. Totally useless, never available, & unresponsive to guests & community. Hotel repeatedly violates the City of Miami Noise Ordinance. City Code Officers & Police are summoned frequently to the location due to constant music emanating from their Pool Deck. Grievances & complaints should go to the following people of IHG. A very classy hotel without the stuffiness. Actually a very new ve homey atmosphere with excellent go out of your way service.

Great Ice skating ring provided by the hotel for this holiday season. $15 for adults, $12 for kids under twelve. There's public parking right in front of the ice ring but the hotel also has valet; just remember to validate it before you leave the ice skating ring! Don't come too over dressed as it does get hot In there read more

We stayed for the ING Marathon and I must admit the hotel's renovation is very nice. The public areas are top notch and the rooms are much nicer than they were the last time I stayed a few years ago. The lobby bar (Toro Toro) is very nice and has a great selection of craft beers. YOu can never go wrong with having Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA on draft. We didn't use many of the facilities as we were wrapped up in race stuff all weekend, but the things we used and the people we interacted with were pleasant and welcoming. My only complaint about the hotel is the LED lighting which is entertaining on the outside of the building, but the biggest problem is the lights are actually mounted in your room (yes they are mounted on the INSIDE of the hotel). Now this wouldn't be a problem for me other than they run all night long and shine into your room. The blackout window covering they use doesn't cover the beams of light from shinning into your room through the sides and tops of the shades. So my entire night of sleep consisted of flashing lights in my room. If you can sleep in a nightclub without the music then you should be OK at the hotel. I am not complaining about the lights - I get it and think it's kind of a trendy concept on the hotel, BUT you need to either turn them off at a decent hour (and sunrise is not a decent hour) OR figured out how to completely block out the light. If we need a hotel in Downtown Miami we will certainly consider staying here again but only if something is done about the lights. Otherwise there are plenty of upscale hotels in Miami that don't have the display that I would rather stay at and get a full nights sleep. read more

This hotel is gorgeous, right on the bay. This is one of my favorite hotels to stay at in Miami. The rooms are nice and very clean. At night time on 2 sides of the building there is a 19 story high LED light show of silhouettes of a girl dancing (very cool!) and during the Miami Heat playoffs they have Miami Heat images. It's very neat looking and makes the downtown Miami skyline fun to watch. It's close to Bayside Marketplace which is fun to eat and shop at. You can walk there directly from the hotel. There is also Starbucks and restaurants in your hotel so you never have to get in a car if you don't want too! The room service was great. The breakfast is really good. You can get basically any breakfast food you could imagine and there is a chef there to cook you an omelet with whatever you want on it. The only thing that bothered me, which I know a lot of hotels do, but there was no room in the fridge for the drinks I bought because it was fully stocked (which is convenient). When you remove something from the fridge it automatically charges to the room. The girl at the front desk was happy to take the charges off though. The staff is very friendly. read more

Such a great experience! Even for a cloudy and somewhat rainy Miami stay the customer service was excellent! My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt that we were living in the lap of luxury. Beautiful view of Miami and the cruise ships. Could not say anything negative about this hotel!! Thank you so much Batu for this experience! Best manager ever!! read more

My friends and I made a quick trip to Miami on May 16-17, and chose to stay at the InterContinetal. The hotel is in the heart of Downtown Miami, and is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room, which was the 'InterContinetal Suite' was very nice. Being we were four women staying in one suite, having two bathrooms was absolutely perfect. The room was on the 31st floor, so the view of the city was gorgeous. The night we were there, the hotel was hosting a local prom so we got to see all the cute kids in their prom gear, which we loved. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the $39 per day valet charge. That seemed to me to be a bit steep. Overall, we loved our time here (be it short) and we will definitely be back. read more

Great location, super modern, great food, excellent value! Would recommend 100%. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Great beds & pillows. Elegant dècor. Rated as a 4-star property by the industry but I'd say it's 4.5! read more

AVOID! Wow this place is a polished turd. The valet will steal from your car if you don't tip them in advanced. The food is not the best. The pool area and locker rooms smell like Urine. Most of the staff aren't very warm. So many nice hotels in Miami don't waste your time or MONEY here. You will have a sub-par vacation. Treat yourself right and avoid this place. Alamo Car Rental was amazing here. read more

THE GOOD: Great Experience. Spacious rooms. Gorgeous hotel. THE BAD: There's no free buffet breakfast though. It's like $20!! And there's no free parking. You must pay daily. BOTTOMLINE: Definitely worth it. Was a great stay. read more

Service was rude. Overpriced drinks as well. Be prepared to pay 18% gratitude. I do like the location and the hotel but service is horrible

Second time staying here. Both times, didn't have the room I reserved. Lobby is a chaotic, noisey mess, and staff seem disinterested in assisting. Also, and this is a major pet peeve - they charge these ridiculous 'service fees' to every guest. Just charge what it costs to run your hotel, you control the rate at which rooms sell. Just include the stupid fee in the cost instead of hidden fees upon check-in. You are getting worse than the airlines. read more

I'm a business traveler and stay in hotels very frequently. Hotel stays have become so tedious and not enjoyable- with one exception! I will be back. read more

Excellent service, Yassine & Amy were so kind. Food is great and the drinks don't stop flowing...

Not a bad hotel overall. Staff is a bit confused and befuddled by questions that are out of their comfort zone but are generally very nice and friendly. BUT... The reason for two stars is the doors to the rooms SLAM VERY LOUDLY (see what I did there with the all caps?). It is un-freaking-bearable. I travel a great deal for work and am here on business. I am startled awake every time someone in my hall leaves or enters their room. I am baffled as to why the hotel would not address this issue with some sort of door hydraulic to slow it down. I'm not kidding. This is a complete deal breaker for me. This hotel is otherwise pretty decent but I will never stay here again (unless this issue is addressed). Trust me, I'm not nitpicking. Every. Single. Time. BOOM!!!! Door slam. Seriously Intercontinental...management should try working a 15 hour day and then try to sleep in a room on a busy night. Some hotels are worse than others but, having travelled for work and stayed in roughly 30 different cities over the last 15 years...this is easily the worst. The worst. read more

Really nice rooms. Great customer service and not far from Port of Miami if you're cursing.

My husband and I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel over this past weekend. It was an exceptional experience! From the valet, check-in, and check out, the process was seamless, friendly, and professional. We were able to find a room pretty much last minute for an incredible rate of $169! When we arrived, the room wasn't ready yet, but was offered drink vouchers for the inconvenience. A short time later (we didn't even finish our drinks yet!) our room was ready. Upon entering, it was clean, cooled off, and welcoming. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience; should the opportunity arrive and we need to chose a hotel in Miami, we will not hesitate to come back to the InterContinental. read more

InterContinental Miami - The bathroom in our suite - Hotels Near Me - Miami, Florida

This place is not worth the price. The place had high prices like an expensive club but without any of the fun. The rooms are expensive and they stock the fridge with all their stuff so you can't use it. The pool and spa close at 8pm so forget about having any fun with the kids if you get there late. They also charge $10 for amenities - whether you use them or not. So just plan on adding another $10 to your nightly stay. This place sucked. Don't stay here unless you have money to burn and you can't swim. read more

IHG Miami is an awesome location for your stay in Miami for any event. When you arrive, your bags are escorted into the hotel and a doorman invites you indoors to the front desk. As you enter, there is so much lively activity going on at the busy concierge desk or around the lines at the various restaurants. A friendly front desk employee reviews your accommodations and gives you your room keys. Our IHG rep, Cesar, has a friendly and professional disposition. He did everything I his power to make sure our stay would be repeated at the same location. See you next time Cesar at IHG! Our stay was pleasantly unique!! read more

I stayed here for a work conference and had quite a few issues. The biggest one was that they charged me for an extra night that I was not there for. I pre-booked my room months in advance and when I received my quote I noticed the error. I immediately contacted the hotel and they said it was fixed. After I returned from the trip, I checked my CC statement to find that nothing had been fixed and they indeed charged me for an additional night. Quite a bit of hassle when it was their mistake and this could have been resolved months ago. read more

A nice property smack dab in downtown on the water. Location is excellent, right next to a park and the public transit. Fantastic hotel in the heart of downtown Miami, but also 10 minutes from the cruise ship terminal. The lobby is trendy, and has a Starbucks and a high end steak house. The room itself is nicely appointed, and the electric blinds are a nice touch! The double room is spacious with a very large bathroom. Parking is valet only, but you can find cheaper parking in a city garage, or on the street. The hotel is also across the street from the Metro Mover, making access to other areas of downtown a breeze. My only qualm is with the slothfulness of the check in staff. Every time I went to the front desk, there is only one employee at the desk, making checking in a long and arduous process. Besides that fact, this IHG property is definitely a winner. read more

The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel is beautiful. We like Miami alot and hope to return.

Very nice property and helpful staff. Concierge assisted with boat tour and made for a seamless transaction to get tickets. The lounge was plentiful and always nice and clean. I booked this hotel through Hotwire. I knew I would get the Intercontinental through vigorous research ;-) I did read a lot of the reviews beforehand, but I decided not to let that sway me... I love the area and pulled the trigger on it. I stayed here for one night and the one thing I was prepared for was the cost of valet parking. I lived in Miami for 8 years, so I am not a tourist, so I can't see how I fell for this tourist trap hotel. The Intercontinental Miami is definitely a four star hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous, has a prime location, and is right on the water (although I did not get a room with a bay view which was fine. I was only there one night). I did not dine at the restaurant but I did have a peek at it, and the hotel bar. They have a spa and the pool area is beautiful, although there was no one at it when I went up there, except two people at the bar. So on to the actual review. Since it's a four star hotel, I thought I would start there and work my way up or down. As I said, I was prepared to pay $39 for valet so I can't take off a star there. Where it becomes a problem is service. If I must pay $39 for valet I better not be waiting to be addressed and taken care of. And this is exactly what happened. Maybe this is a party hotel (whatever that is), where you never know who's coming or going or just waiting for their friends... so you just wait and see. That's unacceptable. I was actually returning to the hotel after going out to meet a friend and just sat there in my car at first. But no one came. Strange, because I was the only one out there! So I got out of the car and stood there looking like a DUCK for someone to come and take my car. So so so annoying. What else could I possibly be waiting for? I'm pulling up to valet! Yes, I need my car valeted! Another thing about valet is that when I first arrived, it wasn't until I was struggling with my bag did someone ask me if I needed help with it. And what's with those steep ass ramps? So bizarre. Just when I felt like they got their act together the whole waiting for someone to address me thing happens. I had to take off a star for that. For $39 per night, there should be top notch service out there. The reason I took off another star is because in the morning, I called for a fork to be sent to my room and the woman on the line told me there was a $6 delivery service charge to send up a fork. I don't know who makes these policies, but this is reason enough for me to not stay here anymore. Really? To send a fork to my room it's a $6.00 charge. SIX DOLLARS?! Most places, you just tip whomever brings it up, but my god. That's just ridiculous and I refuse to be a part of it! That's actually how I took a peek at the restaurant. I was forced to get dressed and go downstairs to the restaurant and ask for a fork. SMH. What a way to inconvenience the guest... Staff was very friendly. The $10 resort fee is for the wifi and 2 bottles of water in your room... you be the judge on how you feel about that. I paid a reasonable rate, but it's the turn offs I experienced that have turned me off from the Intercontinental Miami. Do better! read more
