I used Intense Movers to move to a new home 25 miles away. I had the equivalent of a studio apartment worth of items. I requested quotes from 3 or 4 different companies and went with Intense Movers because they were the cheapest. They were extremely thorough when assessing my inventory to generate a quote. I appreciated their attention to detail because it made me feel confident that there would be no surprise costs at the time of payment. It was also super convenient that they let me update my inventory up to 5pm the day before the move. All of the preparation is handled via email and they are very responsive so you can get answers quickly. I added a full size mattress and box spring to my item list the day before the move and they were able to accommodate me and provide a new quote without issue. The day of the move went very smoothly. They supplied two movers for the job. It seemed like they were sub-contractors because their truck didn't have any branding. We had to pick up items from two different houses, but we had no issues. The movers had plenty of blankets to wrap my items for extra protection. They were very professional and communicative with one another when carrying large pieces to ensure they didn't drop them or damage walls. They do charge extra for tolls and additional flights of stairs. I didn't use their assembly service because I was quoted $80 to set up a simple metal bed frame. I also found it odd that they are pretty much cash only (you can also pay by check for certain amounts). Other than that, I definitely recommend this company and would use them again. read more

Initially wanted to go with a competitor, but after receiving a heartfelt response regarding why I should go with Intense Movers instead, I decided to give them a try. Price - From bidding out, Intense movers seems pretty comparable to the competition. It's definitely a cost, but I've learned you're paying for quality. If you want cheap, get a friend and a uhaul. I'd rather pay a premium for the move and invest my energy for other necessary tasks. Team & Moving - Got Xavier as the lead mover and he was phenomenal. Him and his team (4 for move out, 3 for move in) were super kind and know the drill. Furniture was wrapped & protected, and nothing was damaged (posting this review after finished unpacking). Timing - It took a little less than five hours to move a two bedroom apartment. We hired Intense Movers to move our one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn into storage in PA. Aside from their competitive pricing, they were one of the few movers who communicated via email which I prefer. On the move day, the guys were on time and total pros. They were so on point and easy to talk to, which put us at ease. They carefully wrapped furniture in blankets and had us loaded in the truck 2-3 hours. They even helped us drop some donations at a thrift shop when a charity pick-up fell through at the last minute. The process of unloading on the other end was as smooth as silk. These guys were GREAT. I first booked because of the reasonable quote they provided and the thorough and quick responses, questions and communication they provided before the move. The day of we were so pleased with the two movers who helped us. They were friendly, smart, efficient and flexible (we ended up having 3x the boxes that I anticipated -- yikes! The cost went up of course but that was expected with 3 times the number of boxed items. I'm just glad they didn't refuse to move them!). They didn't complain once about anything and were very willing to go with the flow (we had some slight hiccups on the delivery end). One caveat -- which the moving company is very clear about at the very beginning of the planning process -- is that this is NOT white glove service. They do not do the packing, just the moving. They will of course help wrap furniture as needed, but packing and taping up boxes etc is the responsibility of the client, so if you are looking for someone to wrap and pack all your dishware, look elsewhere. These guys are FANTASTIC. The move from my daughter's apartment in NYC to Atlanta and into the new apartment was flawless from start to finish. There was a one hour delay getting into the building in NYC and the workers were chill and fabulous about it. They wrapped her tv and couch and glass bar cart and glass book shelf incredibly well. There was a delay getting into the apartment in Atlanta and Hughes (who drove the truck) was so understanding. Hughes did the drive and unpacked her without a hitch. So glad that I decided to go with Intense Movers!! I moved from Westchester (near White Plains) to Jersey City. Since I was outside the five boroughs but close to NYC, it was an interesting search process. But somehow I landed on their site and submitted a request for a quote. They were extremely communicative from day one! They answered me promptly and helped me through the inventory process to give me as accurate a quote as possible. The rate was good and I liked that they charged based on inventory rather than hourly -- I didn't have to worry about traffic increasing my price, which we all know is a huge factor here in NYC. The company got back to me quickly after I requested a quote. Their quote process is quite detailed but they were easy to communicate with. I only reached out about a week before my move and they responded to all my emails, scheduled an appointment and sent me a COI within a few days. I was assigned 2 movers and quoted a very reasonable price. Even before my move began, I felt like this company was on top of things. On the day of the move, one of the movers contacted me to give me an estimated time of arrival. When they arrived at their estimated time, they double-checked my inventory before beginning to pack up our stuff. They were very efficient and I felt like our items were moved out of the apartment very quickly. Alright, these guys are good. I take responsibility here for the hiccup. I put in a request for an in building move. However, when I submitted the request, i failed to acknowledge the address was in CT, NY NY! Oy. The guys called me up confused and after I told him I was in CT, he was taken aback. I got off the phone and looked at the sales order and realized they never put the town. The street was fine, but they put down the cross streets as if I was in NY! Eventually we figured everything out and they did come up (1.5 hours late thanks to you know who ;)). It meant that I flex my muscles to help them out and have them focus on the big items. They came, they saw, they conquered. They still honored the original quote and was very good at getting everything in. They even did a daring move to get the couch upstairs (it wouldnt fit so they has to use a pully through our patio). Best part is, the guys didn't complain once about the address and they all had a great sense of humor about it. The guys were young, so I did teach them a few tricks about moving (how to take a door out of the doorway to move something in, and a harness that can be very useful when moving bulky items). Its all small stuff but I hope they take to it on suburban moves. Definitely reccomend these guys going forward. read more

I've used Intense Movers three times because they're consistently a pleasure to work with in every step of the process and their pricing is very competitive. They're thorough and communicative during the inventory stage and honest about fees or the cost of add-ons. On the day of, the crew manager arrives early for a walkthrough and to check items against the inventory. They're honest about any additional costs for items that weren't in the initial inventory, and got my sign off and approval before adding them to list. The crews are friendly with positive attitudes. I have a few pieces of furniture that are fragile or awkward to carry, but the crew from Intense is methodical in how they prepare my items for the move. They bring plenty of moving blankets and extra tape to keep the items safe.
