He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. During the move, the team used our bathroom while working in the bedroom. Shortly after they left, my daughter arrived home and immediately realized that her gold, diamond, and pink sapphire necklace -- a deeply sentimental graduation gift she'd worn almost daily for three years -- was missing. It had been safely in the bedroom that morning, and she hadn't worn it that day due to her outfit choice. We searched thoroughly. It was gone. I texted Steve immediately and asked for his manager's contact information. When he called back, I explained what happened. His first response was dismissive: "Great Movers isn't responsible for stolen items." No empathy, no concern, no sense of accountability. Over the next three days, I called the company multiple times and left messages for management (Saad or anyone in charge) -- not a single call was returned. Zero acknowledgment. As if that wasn't enough, I then received a call from building management saying the movers had dumped my furniture next to a pizza shop's dumpster, upsetting the business owner. I told him I would be filing a police report and that if the necklace was returned, there would be no questions asked. His only reply was to ask "where it was located." It is now November 5, and I have still received no response from Great Movers management. This experience has been deeply upsetting, not only because of the stolen jewelry and unprofessional conduct, but also because of the company's complete lack of integrity, accountability, and compassion.
