    Taped dirtied headboard :(
    Etta H.

I have moved with Intense Movers for the past 2 years, in 2022 and 2023. I have had bad experiences both times. In 2023 one of the movers started yelling at me and I ended my night in tears :( plus they mishandled my things. In 2022, the movers arrived 1.5 hours late and immediately upon arriving began berating me about extra stuff. To be fair to them, I did have some extra, I was new to doing the inventory list they requested and had overlooked items I didn't think of like trash can, shower rack, dish rack etc, but had included all my big furniture, boxes, and clothes. I felt bad for these movers as they were clearly exhausted from moving all day and I honestly wondered why only 2 were sent when it was clear from my inventory it should probably 3 man job (or at least 2 not exhausted overworked men). But my empathy dried up quickly as one guy proceeded to complain for the next 2 hours EVERY TIME he saw me and they took breaks chilling in the truck, we didn't finish till almost 10pm. Breaks are fine but like cmon man. I tried to put everything in easily manageable boxes and bags for the movers making no single thing too heavy (THIS IS IMPORTANT CONTEXT FOR MY 2023 MOVE) I was reprimanded by one of the movers for this, and he told me I should never because it's all about number of trips up and down the stairs. Ok, my bad. The move the next morning was seamless, the guys seemed refreshed, I paid the "extra inventory" fee. Nothing was broken and while the experience itself wasn't outstanding, I appreciated that my stuff was all in one piece. So I booked again in August 2023. This move was SO BAD. I had booked my move for 5pm and asked if we could be done by 9pm and they told me we would (hint: we were not done by 9pm...) I lived in an elevator building where the truck could pull right up, and had really refined my inventory plus packed almost everything into 5-6 large boxes like the mover had told me last year. I only realized last minute I had forgotten to add my plants to my inventory but added it when they texted me day-of asking about extras. Anyways, they arrived 2 hours late and also immediately started counting everything, trying to find "extra stuff" and accusing me. I was so confused by this horrible energy when I was really doing my best. PLUS, I started to HELP THEM move all my boxes because we were going way too slow, so I was carrying my items to the truck with them while one of them complaining about how heavy my boxes were. He also complained about the company exhausting them. This guy actually started to get mad at me, and slammed my box on the ground and pulled me aside to tell me I should NEVER pack boxes this heavy and I was crazy for packing everything in large boxes as opposed to splitting it into small medium boxes. I told him what the mover from Intense Movers told me last year and he told me "no one would have ever said that." Okay... This man was starting to get more and more aggressive to me. They told me they were done BEFORE THE LAST OF MY STUFF WAS DONE BEING MOVED. So I moved the last of my stuff, including my plants, down from my apartment to the truck where this man proceeded to tell me my plants were a "liability" and they decided they're not taking them. I told them this was part of my move and they needed to move everything, and the aggressive guy started to yell and me and TAKE MY STUFF OUT OF THE TRUCK and throw it back on the sidewalk. (I also have a video of him screaming at me in case anyone tries to say this is fake). I started crying because my lease was already up and I didn't know what I would do with my things and I was so exhausted and desperate, I begged them to take it and finally they did. The next morning was a nightmare. These guys were slamming my boxes on the ground like it was weights in the gym. They actually refused to move several of my boxes and made my boyfriend (the actual man of the group) do it, and he reassured me my boxes really weren't that heavy. He took them up the stairs with ease. The movers proceeded to tear off my plastic mattress protector (??) and drag my bare mattress through the street and garbage area and then up the stairs making it completely dirtied. This literally had me on the verge of tears again. They broke 4 wine glasses, 2 plates, and a picture frame. I never said anything because I don't want their money, but I am writing this review to save other people (especially young women) from having the same experience. I can't even imagine what could have happened if my boyfriend wasn't there. It really was horrible and showed me the worst of moving in NYC. Clearly, I will not be moving with them again.

A+ all around. Our move from Suffolk to Nassau was incredibly smooth, starting with the prompt emails calculating an estimate that was actually honored! Any larger or fragile items were further discussed and some photographs were sent. Estimate came promptly and was very fair. On the day of the move there were no surprises! I want to say that our team of 3: Nick, Owen, & Barrett were efficient, courteous, and professional! I could not have been happier with their service, attention to detail, and care with our furniture. Communication was also fantastic the night before and morning of the move. I would absolutely recommend!!!

They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate.

DO NOT HIRE GREAT MOVERS -- UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESS, AND DISHONEST…read more On October 30, 2025, I hired Great Movers to remove and store heavy items from my property. Three movers arrived, led by a foreman named Steve. They were instructed to place the sofa and love seat in a designated dumpster area. During the move, the team used our bathroom while working in the bedroom. Shortly after they left, my daughter arrived home and immediately realized that her gold, diamond, and pink sapphire necklace -- a deeply sentimental graduation gift she'd worn almost daily for three years -- was missing. It had been safely in the bedroom that morning, and she hadn't worn it that day due to her outfit choice. We searched thoroughly. It was gone. I texted Steve immediately and asked for his manager's contact information. When he called back, I explained what happened. His first response was dismissive: "Great Movers isn't responsible for stolen items." No empathy, no concern, no sense of accountability. Over the next three days, I called the company multiple times and left messages for management (Saad or anyone in charge) -- not a single call was returned. Zero acknowledgment. As if that wasn't enough, I then received a call from building management saying the movers had dumped my furniture next to a pizza shop's dumpster, upsetting the business owner. I had clearly told them to place the items inside the designated dumpster area. When I called again, the dispatcher promised to contact Steve. Steve later claimed I "never said anything" about a designated area -- an outright lie. He finally returned to move the furniture to the proper spot, but even then, he set it next to the dumpster until I told him to put it inside. When I again brought up the stolen necklace, he was cold, sarcastic, and emotionless. I told him I would be filing a police report and that if the necklace was returned, there would be no questions asked. His only reply was to ask "where it was located." It is now November 5, and I have still received no response from Great Movers management. This experience has been deeply upsetting, not only because of the stolen jewelry and unprofessional conduct, but also because of the company's complete lack of integrity, accountability, and compassion. My advice: DO NOT USE GREAT MOVERS. If you value your belongings -- and basic human decency -- find another moving company. Great Movers = Great Disappointment.
