been coming to this place for awhile now, I love their poke bowl! their portion is also fair, they're not cheap with their portion! But I gave three star because today I came in to order (I usually order on the phone but the phone was busy) and the lady that took my order was very rude and was rushing me! (like girl, you got no people waiting, it was just me) I asked her about the menu because I didn't see and she rudely replied, "whatever you see on option three is what we have, read it!" At this point, I'm just don't with her! (She's this Hispanic girl with blond balayage looking hair) Overall, I would definitely would recommend this place. Just be prepared to face her attitude! read more

This review is purely based on Inspiration's ramen and poke bowls, as I didn't have a sushi burrito while I was there. The ramen was the best I've had, in particular the spicy tonkotsu bowl. Amazing pork broth, sliced pork belly, several different kinds of mushrooom, soy egg, and fantastic noodles. If your going to Inspiration and your only getting one thing... get this (spicy or regular I'll leave up to you). Now the Poke... not so much. The ingredients you can add to your bowl are good, but there are some downsides in comparison to other poke places I've visited. First is cost/quantity. I've been to their places where you can order as many items as you want without paying a penalty, Inspiration charges you after a certain point. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker. The real issue is the rice. Poke rice should be loose and fluffy, at room temperature to warm. Inspiration's is ice cold, which makes it a gummy clump. If they fix the rice I'd probably give them five stars. But as it stands, 5 stars for the ramen, three for the poke. read more

I created my own sushi burrito and it was phenomenal. The ingredients were high-quality and the taste was great. Especially during these circumstances, I found the pickup experience to be safe with social distancing greatly emphasized. I wish I got some napkins or utensils in my bag because the burrito feel apart on me a bit, but other than that it was a great experience. read more

After trying the ramen, the poke bowls, and sushi burritos, I feel like I can finally give a review that's reflective of Inspiration Roll. I like coming here because you receive good, fresh food for a good price. With the poke rice bowls in particular, I like the ratio of rice to fish to other ingredients. Often, I find myself having difficulty finishing the rice bowl and I like being able to split the bowl into two servings. I find this to be true of the sushi burritos as well. I think the ramen is also a good value and like the taste of it, but I find it to be too salty. However, I think most ramen is too salty. It's important to note that I come here knowing that it won't be the most authentic or best sushi and ramen I've ever had. The strengths of Inspiration Roll are the value, the customization of the food, and the location. I want to emphasize its location because there aren't that many places that serve this kind of food in the area, aside from other local Inspiration Rolls. The service is mediocre and seating is limited. Thankfully, I haven't had a problem with takeout. If I want better quality sushi or ramen, I tend to go out of my way to places like Mitsuwa in Edgewater. However, I think it's good food for a great value that's available locally. read more

It was an unfortunate first visit for us. We both ordered bowls, was super excited about it and about a bite in my husband found hair in his bowl... The staff was apologetic and asked if they could replace his bowl but he had lost his appetite. I totally get that because I get the same way. I did really enjoy my shrimp tempura bowl though so I picked through a few more bites as I inspected my bowl and then we left. Wish we didn't have that experience but with so many other spots around we probably won't be back. The bowls were huge, lots of rice!! I would say it was a little too much rice, disproportionate to the toppings. I could see half the rice serving and you can do your bowls in different ways as well. Hope someone upkeeps the cleanliness here! Good luck. read more

This is my favorite Ramen spot. The original Tonkotsu is the best I have ever had, the braised beef is alway cook perfectly and the pork broth is so good I end up finishing it before the noodles. I also really like how they have the variety of wild mushrooms and bamboo shoots. I also really enjoy the other sides like the JK Rowling fries with the spicy mayo and kimchi or the Takoyaki. read more

Although not documented (if I didn't take a picture or leave a review did it really happen?) this actually was my second visit to Inspiration Roll. First visit, went the ramen route and was happily content with the wonderful Vegetarian Miso Ramen. I'm a bit spoiled in the ramen department with New Brunswick being a hot spot for it, but it was delicious and full of yummy fix-ins. On to chapter two of my Inspiration Roll saga: feeling sassy, went the poke bowl route...but not just any poke bowl, I was super mature and created my own. The salad base was plentiful and fresh and the salmon was baked to perfection. With all the wonderful options for "extras" it was a game time decision but, once again, very tasty. The only complaint would be the amount of salmon added to the bowl, but with the amount of fun extras, it didn't really make much of a difference. Now, with a final thought, the main concern (and yes it is what one would call "extra") is the use of styrofoam cups. Love the element of having a water pitcher out for customers, but styrofoam makes the Earth cry & that's not a fun thought when eating wonderful food. read more

This is my second experience at inspiration roll. My first was at the Caldwell location, but my feelings are the same. I think the sushi burritos are good but everything else is just average. My family ordered the American dream sushi burrito, a custom poke bowl, custom salad, shrimp bao, and a shoyu ramen. The only person who loved their order was me and I had the sushirito. One of my daughter's custom poke bowl had shrimp tempura, crab meat, guac, tempura flakes, edamame and spicy mayo. When my daughter complained she didn't like it, I immediately got on her case, but after trying it I felt the same way. It didn't taste bad but we've had the same combination at another restaurant and their ingredients tasted better. The shoyu ramen soup flavor was ok but the pork belly is a little dry. Ramen itself was average. My wife's grilled chicken salad with wasabi soy vinaigrette was just ok. We didn't care for the shrimp bao. It was fried shrimp, shredded lettuce spicy mayo and sweet sauce. The shrimp was a little dry. If you are looking for poke bowls, ramen and sushirito in the area, this is an ok casual dining spot. Sushi burritos are good and ramen and bowls are ok. The staff here are pretty friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice addition to the restaurant scene in Westfield. read more

If your looking for something a little different and creative and your tired of Chipotle then you must try Inspiration Roll. This is not your average Mexican Burrito. This is completely customized Sushi Burritos, Chicken, or Pork Burritos made to order. Sushi Burritos, Poke, Ramen are hot items right now and it seems to be the new fad of the moment. This is a chain with several locations across New Jersey. So if your used to eating in Chinatown etc. remember it's a chain. Everything is fresh. When you walk in, there is a large board behind the counter to choose your food from. There is a dining room for seating and eating. The first thing you do is decide if you want a Burrito, a Poke Salad, or Poke Rice Bowl. I chose a Sushi Burrito. You pick a Fish, Chicken, Pork, or Veggie as your main ingredient. This place is good if your vegetarian. I chose Fresh Scottish Salmon. Next the fillers. You can have up to 4 toppings for a standard order. If you want more that's fine it costs 50 cents more per item. I chose Multi-grained Rice, Guacamole, Seaweed Salad, Cucumber and Purple Cabbage. I then "fine tuned" my order by adding Spicy Mayo. Love this stuff! For my final action and to add a bit of crunchiness I added Tempura Crunch which really added to my burrito. There are so many ways you can go. Between the variety of raw and cooked meats , fish and seafood to just going completely veg, rice and toppings. The choices are endless. They even have Signature Burrito Rolls you can choose from quickly. If burritos aren't your thing then try the Poke Salad, or Poke Rice Bowl both customized to your liking. Inspiration Bowl also serves Ramen Bowls and Seasonal Ramen Bowls. I haven't tried them yet so I don't know how good they are. My Burrito was huge very tasty and filling. This Inspiration Roll is located in Westfield right near the movie theater, parking can be tricky. so plan accordingly. I will definitely be back again to try more things. I gave them 4 stars because I haven't tried everything yet but I definitely like this place. read more

We came for the Poke Bowls. The fish was sliced thin into strips which made it kind of slurpy/slimy. Poke is traditionally cubed. Inspiration uses seasoned sushi rice, which was good, but offering plain white rice might be nice for a lower calorie option. The options of cooked crunchy meats like shrimp tempura and pork tonkatsu were great. I didn't like the guacamole, it was ok but I would prefer sliced avocado. Overall the Poke Bowls were good for the price but could be better. Service was great and seats were easy to get. read more

I was really impressed by Inspiration Roll. They have several locations including Morristown, Summit and Caldwell. The ramen bowls are huge and very affordable at $12. I had the original Tonkotsu while hubby had pork Shio. We also had a side of take a bao, which are a pair of buns we chose pork but you can opt for chicken, pork or shrimp bao. They were a little messy but the bread was spot on fluffy but firm enough to not fall apart. The ramen bowls were delicious. I would without a doubt come here again, food was very reasonably priced and portions huge. Also shout out to John, he was exceptional in making sure we enjoyed our meal. He also made sure the place was kept spotless, which is much appreciated. read more

Food was great ! First time and will be going back. I enjoyed my time and food. The employees were friendly.

LOVE this place. It's the best poke I've ever had!! Make your own is reasonably priced and the shrimp bao are out of this world!

Came here to try their sushi burritos, sushi rice bowls, ramen, and bao buns. 4 stars for the sushi burritos, sushi rice bowls, and bao buns. Their ramen is ok, 2.5 stars, would not recommend or get again. Their sushi burritos and sushi rice bowls are on point, they use fresh ingredients, and I love that you can customize. My hubbie got a salmon and tuna burrito, and said the fish was fresh and his burrito is tasty. I got a burrito with shrimp tempura and baked salmon with multigrain rice. The multigrain rice is purple and tasted as good as white rice. My father in law got the salmon rice bowl with mango and said it was good as well. Their ramen bowls were decent, but had way too much ramen and not enough pork or pork belly. It is served warm, and I like my Asian noodle soups steaming hot. Was only ok at best. read more

Another reviewer described eating at this Asian fusion franchise as a food court experience. I think that is pretty accurate. You order and pay at the counter, and then a server brings your food on a tray a few minutes later. Tipping is optional. I've eaten here twice, and I like it enough to go back. I've had the original tonkotsu ramen bowl ($12), and the spicy tontoksu, which is the same thing with some sriracha added. The braised pork belly is very tender and flavorful. The broth is decent, although it could have been served a little hotter. As George Costanza would say, "The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli!" Sorry for the non sequitur, I digress. It's nice just to have this place as an option in this land of pizza, deli sandwiches, Mexican fast-food, and mediocre Chinese takeout. read more

Been here twice. Once for ramen and a different time for bowls. The fish in the bowls was very fresh. The ramen was really tasty but not as good as other ramen places so I can't give 5 stars but if you need a ramen fix in town, you can get it here! They have a "pork belly cheese fries" app, which is truly yummy and creative. read more

So glad this place opened in our area! Couldn't wait to come here for ramen, since it's almost impossible to find ramen in Union County. My husband and I went tonight and ordered the spicy tuna nachos, which were amazing. I had a veggie ramen bowl and he ordered a Poke rice bowl. My ramen was great! Not the most flavorful broth I've had, but a huge serving and so many veggies. It definitely hit the spot. My guy loved his rice bowl and said he can't wait to come back to try the sushi burritos. The place itself was very clean and the employees were super friendly. You order your food at the counter and then they'll bring it your table when it's ready. Casual, relaxed atmosphere. If I'm having a strong craving for some serious ramen, we'll probably take the drive up north, but I love having this as a local option! read more

This has been my favorite Ramen place so far! My fiance and I were recommended this place from another friend so we decided to come by one weekday evening for dinner. There were plenty of seats available and the menu was very easy to understand. The staff member who took our order also greeted us as soon as we walked up and offered to answer any questions we had. We both decided to order our own ramen bowls as well as a sushi burrito roll. I was surprised at how much came in the ramen bowl without having to add it in! Most other places are priced per add in but this restaurant already gives you a lot! Most bowls come standard with enoki mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, naruto, nori, and bean sprouts. Wood ear mushrooms are my new favorite! A big bonus is that most bowls also come standard with an egg. I've found that at other Ramen restaurants, only certain broths come with egg. I personally always want an egg with my ramen. The broth was plenty flavorful and I actually felt super full and satisfied after my ramen bowl. This was also my first time trying a sushi burrito roll. Had I not been so full, I would have definitely finished my half but it's absolutely reminiscent of what a sushi roll would taste like. I can't wait to come back! read more

Happy to see such a good Ramen spot open up in ma hometown! Tonkatsu broth is very good! Not just average - holds its own to anything you can find in LA or Boston IMO. Solid flavors on all da food. Spicy Tuna Nachos & Loaded Fries are dope too - a little more pork belly on the fries couldn't hurt, and maybe distribute the toppings amongst the bottom fries not just all on top. I like the fusion food! My suggestion would be to add some optional topping options for the ramens and for more $$. More chashu pork, corn, butter, cheese, extra tare, extra spice, cod roe, japanese pickles or kimchi, sometimes the people like to make a weird bowl :D Also I wish they had black garlic oil I will def be coming back here. Prices are acceptable, you can get a bowl o Ramen and appetizer for 20bux and have leftovers for taking home. Food in Westfield can be a little stale...good to see a place that is adventurous with great attitude from all the staff! ごちそうさま！ read more

As a new york city native i am no stranger when it comes to ramen joints i have tried various ramen dishes from surrounding Japanese restaurants in the area and let me tell you that inspirational roll has brought every single one of those business down to their knees in the ramen game. Visited 8/8/21 with a craving for Ramen but what we got fell short of expectations. I got the Spicy Tonkotsu which tasted fine but my wife specifically asked for no mushrooms on her Spicy Kaarage Ramen and she got mushrooms but mine had none. The Baos were actually really good. We got pork and shrimp. The JK fries were the low point. The fries were soggy(we ate at the location this wasnt delivery) and it lacked any care if that makes sense. If I could go here every day (without shame) I would. So incredibly delicious! My husband and I split the pork buns first, I had the traditional ramen bowl and he had the Ford sushi burrito. Everything we ate was full of flavor! I was so full by the end of my ramen bowl but wanted to keep going because it was so good. Prices were reasonable, around $30 for everything. Atmosphere is super casual- order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Not a ton of seating- we sat at the counters and the other tables were full. This was on a Thursday night so I imagine they are packed on the weekend. We'll definitely be back...many times! read more

Also big portions. Always clean inside. Not seating inside right now but we only takeout anyway. Highly recommend everything!

We had our husky with us so we wanted to find a restaurant that is dog friendly. Found this restaurant on yelp and decided to try. We ordered "take a bao" with pork and shrimp, original tonkotau ramen and a poke bowl. I liked that we can customize our own poke bowl. We chose spicy tuna, with 4 toppings (kimchi, seaweed salad, tamago and masago), miso sauce and seaweed powder. It was delicious and portion is big. You totally got your money worth. The bao and ramen are also tasty as well. This is a restaurant that we will come back again for sure! read more

Ordered takeout today. You can pay in person or over the phone, which is nice. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen while my boyfriend got the regular tonkotsu. Imo, the spicy one tastes better because the regular one is a bit oily. Nevertheless, tonkotsu (bone broth) will be a bit more oily by nature in comparison to Shio or Shoyu. In terms of the composition of the ramen, I think all of them are the same if you don't ask for additional items. The egg was hard boiled, instead of the nice runny ones you often expect when you think of ramen. The outside of the egg is also not well marinated, and barely had any color. The chashu is way too fatty. I understand that chashu ought to have some fat in them, but 70% fat 30% lean seems to be the wrong proportion. The mushroom was nice, while the bamboo shoots were not really fresh. I understand it might be hard to get fresh ingredients during such trying times, so I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I saw many good reviews about their sushi rolls, so perhaps it's better to go with that than the ramen. I guarantee you this is not the place for ramen. read more
