I'm surprised this place got a remodel/renovation. It looks much more modern and has several Asian themed murals (like Naruto and Doraemon). I wasn't too impressed with the food. I felt like my sushi burrito was kind of dry. I made my own sushi burrito and all my ingredients were there. Inflation has really increased the price of this item as well as the food choices. The topping list is somewhat limited, and now you pay $2 extra for masago. Portion looks small but it was filling. Everything is online so customer service was limited. There's three kiosks on the wall to order. Parking except on Sundays is very difficult to find. It's a block away from a paid parking lot if you can find a spot though. read more

The place is pretty good. They have tablets for you to order on, so it makes ordering the "Build your own" pretty easy. It's also a nice little spot, there's a lot of seating and they have some cute wall paintings and decor that make it feel nice. We had went after it had just opened, so it was also clean and not busy at all. I had ordered the "Build your own" sushi bowl with white rice, shrimp tempura, tamago (sweet omelette), seaweed salad, romaine lettuce, soy sauce, and sesame sauce. They have a lot of options to pick from so it's nice to customize it to your likings. My only thing is that I had ordered a bowl and I'm sure that's what I picked, but they ended up giving me a sushi burrito. I was a little disappointed at first, but at least the sushi burrito is really good. It's essentially a jumbo roll of sushi. I really enjoyed mine and each of the individual ingredients tasted really fresh and good. You get a lot with your order so I felt really full. I have driven by this place for years and finally decided to drop in. As an avid sushi lover, I walked in with high expectations. Right away I knew I wanted to try a 'sushirrito' (sushi burrito). I like that they have the option to "build your own", so that's what I did. I kept it simple with white rice for the base - baked salmon for the protein - seaweed salad, kimchi, shibazuke, and oshinko for toppings (you can choose up to 4), miso & teriyaki for the sauce (you can choose 2), and lastly, tempura flakes for the crunch (you can choose up to 2). Altogether what a yum-tastic slow dance on my palate with every bite. I dined inside and the baked salmon was piping hot and flavorful. The teriyaki sauce was too salty, but the other ingredients masked it well. I do, however, think they're a bit overpriced for the portion/size. But I do appreciate the plethora of available options and add-ons without the extra charge. It wasn't a lot of people inside, but they seemed busy in the 'kitchen' perhaps making pick-up orders. I didn't mind the wait for my food because I could see that it was made fresh to order. The service was fine. They seem to want you to know what you want as soon as you get to the register, so, not as friendly for first-timers. But lucky for me, I am pretty decisive. Went to Inspiration Roll for dinner on a Tuesday. It's a fast casual place, where you order at the register and they bring your food. I had been to I got the JK Rowling fries, takoyaki, an American Dream Sushirrito, and a bowl of their spicy tonkotsu ramen. The JK rowling fries were my favorite item. They had pork belly, spicy mayo, cheese, and sauces from Korean fried chicken. The takoyaki was average, and the sushirrito was bad. The seaweed didnt wrap all they was around so it wasnt even sealed once i took it out of the wrapping. I wish they did normal sized rolls. The ramen wasn't too salty surprisingly. It contained Noodles, Soft Boiled Egg, Scallions, Mushrooms, Bamboo Shoots, Naruto, Nori, Cabbage, Sesame Seeds, Braised Pork, and Black Garlic Truffle Oil. I ordered for delivery and ordered my fave dishes. I got the take a bao with shrimp and it arrived still hot and crunchy. Ii usually get extra sauce on the side because the mixture just makes it so yummy! The confucious nachos are my absolute favorite! Depending on which location you order from, I noticed some places put the nachos in a smaller container, but this one makes it in the bigger container which, I feel is worth all the money. I used to really love this place (I wrote a review 3 years ago) but I went back a few months ago and had a very unpleasant experience... I just moved to the area and remembering how much I loved the place, I figured I could eat here regularly now. One of my first few nights being moved in, I had a friend come over and we went to eat in the restaurant for dinner. We ordered at the kiosk because I like to custom order my sushi burritos and it's just easier to do so on the self service machines. I added my burrito and a drink and then my friend ordered at the kiosk too. We got our drinks we paid for and sat down after ordering and my meal came out extremely fast. By the time I got done eating, my friend's ramen hadn't come out yet and we were getting a little worried but just figured ramen takes a little longer and it's busy. The lady brings my friend his ramen and we had opted to take it to go at this point cuz I had finished, and as we are packing it up, the lady tells me I need to pay for my drink. I get confused and tell her I did at the kiosk when I first ordered and don't understand why all of a sudden she is assuming I didn't when I'm basically done with my meal and we are about to leave. She keeps trying to gesture for me to follow her to the cash register so I can pay for it but I refuse. I start desperately trying to think of how to prove I paid for everything as no receipt printed. There was no in-depth email or text just the confirmations, I had to go to my bank statement and show her my total. She printed out my receipt and tried to say I only paid $12 when my bank statement showed $16 and I didn't leave a tip (normally I do, just I had moved and was broke at the time, I did drop a few singles in the tip jar though). I tried to explain to her how I don't see how my total went from $12 to $16 if I didn't pay for a drink. She decided to eventually 'give up' and let us go after embarrassing us and making a scene for a long time about it, accusing me of stealing. Because of this, both my friend, who was his first time ever going there, and myself, who was a long time customer and planned on coming back a lot more now that I live within walking distance, are really uncomfortable and don't want to come back. Up until that point we loved it and enjoyed the experience but that was totally unprofessional and unnecessary. If ur going to accuse ur customers of stealing then u need to have a way for them to access the receipt on their end so they can defend themselves. read more

I have eaten at this inspiration roll many times. Most recently I ate there on 3/13/21 I honestly would have given this establishment 5/5 stars until my most recent visit. The JK Rowling fries are one of my favorite dishes but this visit they seemed to not load them up as well or cook the food the same. It was slightly disappointing. I am still going to return and order more, but something was just off this time. I also really enjoy their poke bowls. I always order with some kind of salmon and occasionally shrimp tempura. This time the salmon seemed a little less than fresh however. All my other experiences with their fish were excellent and I have no complaints I really enjoy the multi grain rice. Edamame, asparagus, and cucumber pair excellent with any options in these bowls. Normally I like avocado in a poke bowl but inspiration roll has a unique take on this with "guacamole" instead. However my wife and I ordered for delivery on a Friday evening, a very simple order of ROC chicken, some gyoza and two ramens (one spicy and one not) When my delivery order arrived - it was missing both the gyoza and the ROC chicken. Additionally, we received two spicy ramens instead of one spicy and one not spicy. I called the restaurant and was immediately put on hold. After waiting a few minutes I called back in and was immediately put on hold again. Sounded busy over there (clue #1) When I finally got in touch with someone, I was met with some of the least helpful customer service. Rather than working to solve the issue and provide any type of solution - I was basically told that I was wrong. Then they went so far as to try and blame the DoorDash Driver alluding to the fact that they might have taken the Gyoza and ROC chicken. They insisted that they check every order and clearly never make a mistake. When I inquired how - then - did I receive two spicy broths rather than one (must have been that nefarious DoorDash Driver again) they had no answer, but still insisted I was wrong. Look - we all get it. The restaurant was busy and mistakes happen. But when you screw up - own it and fix it. Don't start blaming the delivery driver because your process failed & your order checker was distracted, didn't care, or wasn't doing their job. And to then sit on the phone w the customer who only got 25% of their order (out of 4 things ... it's not that hard) and tell them they're wrong - That's how you're gonna lose business rapidly. read more

Their portions are very generous, especially their Poke Bowls and Ramen Bowls. Seemingly, they have more options for the ingredients in their poke bowls compared to other nearby places. However, their sushi does not seem as fresh or as high quality as others. I've tried their Spicy Tonkotsu ramen, which was delicious and spicy, but not overly so. Their Bao Buns are also tasty.
