Loved the concept from what I saw online (never had a sushi burrito and I've been wanting to try one for quite some time) so I decided to check it out on a weekday. Upon coming in, you walk to the counter and order your food and the staff will call your name when the food is ready. I love how there are inspiration quotes all over the wall, it was cute. The interior was clean. But most importantly, the food was just alright. I got the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and I made my own sushi burrito. I was going to get one of the signature rolls but then I realized you can get the same exact ingredients if you create your own for $1 less. I just ordered all the ingredients that were in the American Dream roll. I thought the ramen was kind of pricey for the portion size they give you and they also skimp on the meat. The ramen was $12 and they serve it in a cheap plastic container. I don't know about you but if I'm paying that much for ramen I would expect better presentation. All that plastic is understandable if you are getting takeout but I was dining in. The tasted okay, a little too greasy/oily for my taste. I rather go to Ani Ramen in Montclair or go to Bergen County. The sushi burrito I got ($9) was wrapped very poorly. It was not tightly wrapped so it was pretty difficult to eat, it kept falling apart. I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. Came to Morristown to perform and ended up stopping here. I came with three friends, and yes, I tried all of their food. I made my own rice bowl and I absolutely LOVED IT! The shrimp tempura was nice and crispy, the multigrain was cooked to perfection and all the add ins were nice and fresh. Even the mango was super sweet! This was my first time having a rice bowl. On another recent motorcycle adventure, I found myself in Morristown. I've never actually eaten in Morristown until I came to Inspiration Roll, to try their take on the sushirrito. (sushi burrito). The restaurant is small, dim, and the walls are littered with inspirational quotes. Place your order at the counter, and wait for your order, fast food style. It was a beautiful day, so my brother and I took our orders outside to eat in the park across the street. (The lighting in Inspiration Roll is also very terrible for taking food pictures). The entire order was served in disposable containers, much like a fast food place. Bad for the environment, but convenient for my current purposes. We started with a generous portion of Confucius Nachos. It was a full container of tortilla chips, cheese, guacamole, mango, spicy mayo, and spicy tuna. There was no way it could be bad. I made my own sushirrito, with two types of protein, paying the extra $2 for the extra motivation. That may be why the nori (seaweed) did not actually go all the way around my burrito. Thanks for overstuffing my sushirrito, but please consider buying bigger sheets of nori. So far, Inspiration Roll sells the best sushi burrito I've had on the east coast. I guess I'll be a bit of a contrarian here. I wasn't expecting a dedicated "just like Tokyo" ramen place (Ippudo's in Tokyo at midnight. Now that's an experience). But if you are looking for a easy and friendly fusion place then this is a good choice. We tried a few things. One was the spicy to tonkatsu ramen was good. The spice was good and the broth was rich. The egg was perfectly cooked. Soft boiled and delicious. Finally the pork was deliciously fatty. Probably not good for my cholesterol but sometimes on a snowy slushy day like today it is just what you need. The rolls are a really cool fusion concept. A large sushi roll wrapped in nori. We tried the American Dream and it was tasty. The rice was fresh and the combination of the spice of the tuna with the crunch of cucumbers was great. The service was very fast and the sit down area is nice and trendy. I particularly liked the inspirational quotes on the walls. A nice spot for a bite. I would say that this place is extremely average. Their ramen wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't the best place i've had. I did not expect much coming to Inspirational and boy was I right. I had gotten the Poke rice bowl with the fresh salmon. While they had supplied with a great quantity of salmon, other ingredients tasted like it was not fresh. I had gotten the white rice and it was a bit on the harder side. Was this.... older rice that had to be refrigerated? I've never eaten a Poke bowl that had hard rice, even sushi. Normally, I don't review restaurants because I love food so much. And even though this place drops the ball once or twice, it's never done this: given me incompletely cooked meals. I arrived at the restaurant shortly after I placed the order for my miso ramen bowl. I told the person behind the counter that I just placed the order, so I'd understand if it wasn't ready yet. She goes to the back counter, puts a container in a bag, and hands it to me. I get home with my order and I open the container to find that NO BROTH WAS IN THE SOUP. I'd take it back if it wasn't late and raining to tell them that they didn't give me soup, they gave me a noodle bowl with raw ingredients. A little extra effort in terms of paying attention to what you're doing is common sense, but I guess common sense really isn't that common. During the warmer months, I usually opt for a build-your-own poke bowl ($9) comprised of tuna or salmon, purple-hued multi-grain rice, edamame beans, masago, and topped off with spicy ponzu sauce. Just in case you suffer from performance anxiety about building your own poke bowl or sushi burrito, there's eight 'signature' rolls. Inspiration Roll has been open a while and we've meant to eat there, but timing never quite worked out. Today, while Pokewalking the Morristown Green, the stars aligned and we finally had our chance. Staff was super friendly, explained the menu, made suggestions, couldn't have been nicer. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, my companion went with the Miso ramen. My broth was stellar (the broth is the most important part of a bowl of ramen and cannot be passed over in any discussion.) It was good and spicy, but not intolerably hot. The chashu pork was stellar, the apex part of that meal. The enoki mushrooms should have been cut, they looked cute for presentation but were awkward to eat. Nori and tree ear mushroom gave it the right balance. The miso ramen was good. The bacon-corn mix good, but had a bit of gristle which gave it an unpleasant mouthfeel. Both of us would have given the ramen an A for the broth....but the noodles were not up to par. They were over-cooked, dried noodles. We eat a lot of ramen and the noodles have to be just toothy enough, with a good fattiness. These weren't any of those things. So overall, the ramen got an A-. Good, but still had room to be even better. My only other comment is, in part ridiculous, but also not because this is something that has to been seen and addressed generally, before it can change. The inspirational quotes on the wall were almost 100% by men - including, somewhat maddeningly, ficititious characters. There was literally one Audrey Hepburn quote. Dumbledore is not real and while I am sure many have been inspired by him, there are many women who have shared inspiration with others... but you'd never know it from this place. My companion also wants to point out that this is not a particularly cheap restaurant. Lunch for 2 people, (ramen drinks) exceeded $30, which would have fed four on the streets of Tokyo for the same meal. So A-. Make better ramen and get some quotes by women on those walls and it could be an A. read more

Came here for the ramen and walked out a bit disappointed. The shoyu ramen was flavorless even after adding hot sauce. The spicy miso was good but not that great. The white sprout mushroom need to be cooked not just used as garnish. I didn't know prior to coming that it was order and sit type of place, as in you order at the register and pay and they bring you the food. My husband and I are absolutely obsessed with this place. We can't go more than a couple of weeks without ordering from it again. Their food is so incredibly delicious and flavorful. I always get the Hepburn as a rice bowl. He always gets the original Tonkotsu ramen bowl. We have our go-tos and can't get enough of them. We both almost always order one of the Ramen bowls. Usually spicy tonkatsu. It is definitely very spicy and savory with a huge variety of ingredients. Particularly like the variety of unusual mushrooms they put in it. I've had their sushi roll/burrito things as well, which are very good but the noodle dishes are now my favorite. I have been frequenting Inspiration Roll in Morristown for several months. I get take out lunches from them once or twice a week, and sometimes a dinner here and there for my family. My favorites are the sushi bowls and the sushi burritos. The burritos are like a giant sushi roll, but burrito style using a sushi wrapper as the "tortilla." The American Dream, especially, is amazing, with spicy tuna, fresh cut mango, rice ( brown or white), cucumbers, lettuce, and fresh guacamole. I also get this as a salad bowl, which basically is the same thing but over a romaine salad and without rice (everything can be made to your tastes, though). My kids love their ramen, and compare it to another favorite of ours, Danzai Ramen in Watchung. They have great appetizers, too. We especially liked the JK Rowling fries (think Jersey Fries all the way, but with an Asian flavor) and the chicken poppers. If you are looking for lunchtime sushi, it's really hard to beat the freshness and value of this place. Even if I go with supermarket sushi, a couple of rolls are close to $20. For $12 the American Dream Burrito is about as much food (maybe more), better, healthier, and less money. Can't beat that. Best of all is their consistency. They are always good, always fresh. Everything I have ever ordered from them has been absolutely on point. An easy 5 star rating. read more

My boyfriend and I have been ordering food from here for several months now, and I held off from making a review until now--which I am actually happy about and you shall see why. Their menu is super simple and very straight forward. You want ramen? They got ramen? You want it spicy? They can make it spicy. They have 7 DIFFERENT RAMENS to pick from (great variety), but I have always picked the Original Tonkotsu (12 hour pork broth) just as personal preference. And my boyfriend always gets the Spicy Tonkotsu. They check off all of the classic ramen necessities--pork belly, scallions, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, nori, beansprouts, that sweet sweet boiled egg, the funny little naruto, and topped with sesame seeds.  We always get it delivered and they put all the dry ingredients together and give you the broth separately, so you can pour it over yourself. Ramen is always a great choice when it comes to a high ROI meal, and at $12 a bowl it costs the same as ramen spots in New York. We have ordered from them at least 10 times, and we noticed that it isn't always consistent. There are definitely times where it is better than others to the point where we even did go for a bit of time.  On the whole, it wouldn't be my first choice if I wanted some GREAT ramen, but it definitely can hold you over if you are feeling the ramen crave.​ read more

I've heard so much about their sushi burritos and as my husband and I ate sushi and burrito lovers we decided it was the perfect fit. They have options to make your own ($9) or pick from a standard menu of options ($10). I decided to on the frank. The sushi burritos were ok one that I ordered had lettuce and cucumbers and they put a big piece of lettuce and two cucumber sticks in it, I think it would have been better as shredded pieces so all the flavors combined it it feels less like I was eating a salad. Staff was very friendly. It was my venture to try something new but will probably stick to separate burritos and sushi in the future. Why is it so good? I mean so, so good! I admit I make trips to the area just to go here. It must be loaded with some kind of addictive ingredient Bc it's just so darn tasty! My prayers have been answered - FINALLY a ramen place that isn't overly salty! Appetizer: We had the R.O.C popcorn chicken which wasn't that great. It was super chewy and deep-fried and didn't have much a flavor, so I don't recommend getting that. Ramen: I got the Spicy Tonkotsu but substituted chicken/chicken broth for the pork options. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked, but it definitely had a kick to it. There's always the option to add more hot sauce so it's all good. The taste of sesame oil was a bit overpowering and lingered for hours after. But overall, it was a very enjoyable dish. It was a very hot and humid day and the temperature in the restaurant was very high so it was a little uncomfortable. They really should turn their A/C on, I think it would've made for a better customer experience. There is also poke here and sushi burritos, will have to try that some other time! read more

Have had better ramen from Trader Joe's for a tenth the price. I don't write reviews, but I feel obligated to for this place because they need to seriously step it up. Ingredients do not taste fresh. Soup seemed not home made with a thick slime at bottom, and the bao buns were bland. I wouldn't be surprised if the noodles they used were from the typical ramen $0.50 packets. For the price, go anywhere else. I feel robbed for what I paid and ate. read more

This place's a nice quick stop for those craving some ramen. Order at the counter and waiters bring the food out to you. At the end you can leave the dirty bowls and utensils back by the corner where the trash cans are. Very casual. That being said, the food definitely isn't authentic but I've had much worse. Only got to taste the ramen here although I would like to see what the hype is about with the sushi burritos. They kind of mix Chinese ingredients here in Japanese style ramen. For example my tonkotsu ramen had wood ear mushrooms, you wouldn't see that anywhere in authentic Japanese ramen house. The pork belly was over cooked and tough.
