The plating is also very well thought out and was on theme without being overly done. A touch of culture, jazz and class. Except for Guy Fieri being on the wall. Haha. As for the taste of everything. The baklava was a bit too sweet for me compared to others that I've had. The blackberry lemon tart was perfectly balanced and just the right size to satisfy my sweet tooth. My favorite part of the experience was my spiced tea latte. Perfectly balanced with spices and milk. Would probably be my addiction if I lived in Boise. The many awards and praises are displayed on the wall and all the goodies back up the reason why this place has had so much attention. Definitely worth checking out!

Thank goodness for living in a rainy city ..I had prepared all my life for this moment. When we…read morearrived, it was absolutely pouring, and being from the Pacific Northwest, we didn't think twice about waiting in line .As soon as the rain let up, though, the line grew dramatically, so we were glad we had stuck it out. The bakery itself is small, but the display case is anything but. It's packed with beautifully crafted pastries, each one more tempting than the last. Honestly, everything looked worth trying. We settled on the Rose Croissant and the Lox Croissant Sandwich, and both were excellent. The rose croissant was a standout with the rose flavor delicate yet present in every bite, which is rare for floral pastries. It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial. The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time. The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries. They're absolutely worth the wait.

If you're like us and like specialty coffee flavors like salted caramel, lavender, honey, etc., this probably isn't the spot for your coffee fix. That said... the pastries are absolutely worth the visit! Everything we tried was beautifully made and delicious. Just a heads up: it gets very crowded and busy, so I'd recommend arriving early or going in with a little patience. It's not typically a quick grab-and-go stop, but the pastry treats make it worth slowing down for!

I've tried two drinks while I was in town: Snickerdoodle latte and a regular latte. They're both really good! What I really like about this place is Angie (I hope I spelled your name right)! Angie's energy and friendly personality suckered me into trying a drink. I originally wasn't going to try anything as I was just looking for food at around 4pm, but she got me, haha. Yes, I stayed up super late due to drinking coffee but oh well! I'm so, so happy I did decide to try it out. Plus, it's local so why not?! You can adjust your sweetness level if you ask. They also offer smoothies, teas, and other specialty coffee related drinks. There's plenty of parking spaces as it's in the plaza where Edwards Cinema is. As always, don't forget to support local businesses and tip if you are able to.

To my surprise, there was one left so I snagged it! To my surprise, there were two cutie little donut holes in the bag. I ate them and they were so soft. And even though it was later in the day, it was still very soft! It was a nice little snack for my husband and I. I definitely know where to go to get another apple fritter for an afternoon treat for my husband and I.

I had a horrible experience with the communication and response from management. I submitted an…read moreonline request for two cheesecakes for a company birthday party three days in advance. I had used their online order process several times before without any issues, so I assumed the order had been accepted and their were no questions or concerns with the order. When I arrived to pick up the cheesecakes, I was told that the order could not be completed because they require five days' notice. However, I never received an email, text message, or phone call informing me that the order could not be fulfilled. In the past, I had received messages from them with questions about an order or notification when they were unable to complete one. The situation became even more disappointing when I asked to speak with a manager. I showed her that the online ordering page was unclear about the required advance notice and suggested adding specific information for customers ordering cheesecakes. I also explained that I had not received any notification about the issue and suggested sending customers a text message when an order cannot be fulfilled. Rather than acknowledging the communication problem or apologizing for the inconvenience, the manager placed the responsibility entirely on me, stating that I should have called to confirm the order. She also said that, because they are a small team of three, they do not have time to communicate with customers by phone or text. I understand that small businesses have staffing limitations, but the lack of communication and the manager's dismissive response were unacceptable. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and after this experience, feel less likely to return despite their awesome pastries. (UPDATE: the following day I noticed they had updated their online order request to include "7 day notice requested for all orders". So, even though the manager/owner did not accept any accountability to to situation and acted completely unsympathetic to the outcome, she must have realized that they could do something on their side to keep this from happening again to someone else in the future).

The other person there was great though! I was drawn in by the array of unique flavors and vegan options. I had really wanted to get something boozy and vegan, but they only had one flavor on at the moment that fit the bill and I wasn't particularly interested, so I sampled a few of the dairy boozy flavors and went with a vegan non-boozy ice cream for my actual order because a full scoop of dairy ice cream does not sit right in my stomach. I liked the boozy flavors more but that was only because of the flavors offered - the vegan ice cream itself was great, very smooth and creamy, not overly sugary. I got the float season vegan ice cream: blackberry ice cream with salted dark chocolate. I did still enjoy this flavor a lot. I really liked the crunchy bittersweet dark chocolate bits. I didn't get anything to drink but I was kind of tempted. The ice cream + beer or wine flights looked interesting. I don't know wine well enough to comment, but it looked like they had a good selection of beer with quality brewers and a good variety of beer types.
