Very, very disappointed in this place. Had cataract surgery there at the recommendation of my optometrist. Getting pre-op appointments were also challenging. Though the results were OK, I had an assortment of issues with office staff and my doctor because of allergies to meds the standard anesthesia used. After care is non-existent. They sent me to my optometrist. Recently, when I had acute eye pain, I could not get an appointment - how can they not have emergency availability? They referred me to their on-call physicians, Boulder Eye Surgeons, which I highly recommend! read more

I have had 2 cataract surgeries out of this office, with new lens. One surgery in late 2022. One in the spring of 2023. The results are exceptional!' They now have two Boulder locations - one off of Arapahoe and now another off of 28th. The surgeries were at a eye surgery center in Lafayette. I have had appointments here with several doctors, and that at times with many of their support technicians, all of whom I have been very helpful, well informed and courteous. Insight Vision Group is NOT Good! in fact I'd say they rate ZERO! I paid for the expensive pre-surgery (cataracts) consultation/measurements, then I tried to get Insight to give me a cost estimate of the after insurance cost to me. Insight refused to submit an insurance authorization! The receptionist was RUDE and kept stating their policy, "we don't submit to your insurance until you have scheduled for surgery"! I tried to get to a work-around for their policy, but the receptionist was rude and kept repeating the same stuff. I went in person, but to no avail! So at that time I requested they send ALL of my patient files to another local surgical center. Insight said they would, but sent only a portion, which caused me to pay for the full pre-surgery consultation/measurements at the other provider (or cancel the appt. and pay cancel fee, to reschedule appt. for a future date when Insight FULLY COMPLIES with my request for results to be forwarded). I wouldn't recommend Insight Vision group! They are rude, incompetent liars, and I want to know surgery costs before I sit in the chair! read more

Got lasik a few months ago. Best decision I have ever made for myself. Doctors and staff here are crazy nice and helpful. The procedure is over before you know it. 1st day recovery isn't fun but go to sleep once home and you wake up a new person. Follow recovery guidelines which are clearly laid out by the staff and your golden. Couldn't be happier. read more

I seem to get good thorough exams here, but no follow through. Been trying for MONTHS to get eyedrops renewed and they can't figure out how to find prior prescription and doctor information in their system. Called every week, followed up and sent the information myself from pharmacy download, and was told they sent appeal to insurance and NOTHING. Literally after months. Think twice if you have eye health needs, nobody there seems to care. Pass the buck, drop the ball, no follow up operation. read more

I had to have a check on my left eye after a infection (not pink eye) left my eye feeling swollen still after two weeks. Wanted to make sure everything was healing properly since I had gone to urgent care for the initial infection 2 weeks prior. The front office and assistants were great. The doctor on the other hand couldnt get me out of the office fast enough. Didn't ask me any questions and litteraly opened the door which was his cue for me to leave and I had to ask if that was it, it was. It shocked me and I just left. My wife made an appointment in Longmont for problems she was having with her eyes after she had nasal surgery. I went with her since she didn't want to drive since her eyes were dilated. We had a very long wait for her appointment. The waiting room smelled very musty and stale and the chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever sat on. There were also stains on the ceiling tiles in the examination room. She was seen by Dr Gitchell. She was diagnosed with dry eyes and given a list of things to try including prescription eye drops. She was told to use them 4 times a day for 10 days for both eyes but was only given 1mg of drops. On average there are 20 drops per mg so she needed at least 4mg (80 drops). Do they not teach basic math in med school? After 3 days my wife was out of drops. She called the office to refill the prescription and after a few phone calls she was told they were too busy to work on her prescription. My wife called her daughter who works in healthcare and she called and ripped them a new one. In return they dropped my wife. Stay away from Insight Vision Group. They are lazy and incompetent. read more

One month out from Lasik surgery, I have 20/15 vision. Can't ask for much better than that from a lasik provider. They include lifetime touch up, hopefully won't need it. read more

Went to Dr Howard Amiel in new office in Arvada on 52nd St. Again, so IMPRESSED w Dr Amiel for his help with my Severe Dry Eye problems. His recommendations have elevated my painful, burning, dry, inflamed and red dry eye issues!!!! So happy I found him! Very nice staff in the new office read more

Can't speak for other Doctors in this group but, Had some post-operation issues. Richard Stewart was combative, patronizing and pompous. I understand there can be post-operative issues with any medical procedure,but do yourself a favor and find a different Dr. There are plenty out there who will treat you much more professionally and sympathetic to your needs. read more

Not a fan of professionals who keep their patients waiting. I had an 11am appointment, was told I would be done within an hour for an initial consultation as a new patient referral. I didn't see the actual doctor until 12:15. No respect for people's time is a no go for me. Thought I would move my review from their previous campus over while I was updating it. A fellow coworker asked me about Lasik and I sent him this response. Figured it'd be good for anyone looking into Lasik and especailly if you're looking into Insight here in the Denver Area. Insight has 2 locations. I went to their northern location at SR 287 and 36 in Lafayette. --- I had mine done in January 2013 at Insight Lasik. Best experience ever. They gave me a discount for our company ($400), being referred ($100) and for vsp ($400) - ended up being like 3700$ total with everything. Well worth it. Don't get "discount" or "free" lasik. And if they are giving you a television... well... let's just say you're not buying a used car - you're getting a laser shot into your eyes. I've always worn glasses, never contacts. I'm pretty sure you have to quit contacts for a week before your procedure. I had LASIK (as compared to PRK) on a Friday morning. They give you a little pill that makes you super sleepy afterwards as they want you to sleep all day and not use your eyes. 8:45am - check in to the office. 9:00am - pre-op (hair net, shoes net, some preliminary steroid drops, the drugs above) 9:30am - walk into the laser lab 9:36am - walk out of the laser lab. Seriously. Took 1.5 mumford & sons songs. They were literally jamming music while doing these surgeries. 9:45am - they take a look at your eyes in the post-op room. 10:00am - doc comes in with your post-op bag, goes over last minute questions 10:30am - out the door. Eyes are swollen and watery. 7:00pm - woke up, took a shower. When I got out of the shower I could see the oven clock across my apartment. I cried. Literally so happy that I cried. 8:30pm - went out for dinner and drinks wearing the goggles. Hilarious. Next day at 9:00am, 1 day checkup. Vision was 20/20. I drove to the office. Next Saturday. 7 day checkup. Vision was 20/15 and improving still. I have 2 month checkup coming up at the end of March. We are "expecting" 20/10 vision. They also do a 6 month and 1 year checkup - all included. [update, 4/18/2013] I had my 2 month checkup. Eyes are a bit better than 20/15 and still have some chance of improving. I can read all of the letters on the 20/15 line and some of the letters on the 20/10 line. I'm still using some drops (I work at a computer all day and play a lot of golf). [update, 10/16/2013] I can't believe it has been 8 months. I also can't believe that I ever lived wearing glasses every day. Every part of my life is better with Lasik. I used to wear glasses while playing softball and soccer -- it's incredible to not be bound by those plastic frames. My eyes still get dry from time to time, but I am 95% off drops. This is most noticeable when I am working long hours in front of the computer or outside in very dry conditions. I'll keep updating this review as i remember to do it or if anything changes, but so far this has been the most incredible experience and something that I would recommend 1000% (yes, one-thousand) to anyone who is even thinking about getting this done. [update 4/29/2015] It's been 2 years and 3 months and my lasik is still one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have no idea how I lived 26 years without it. Kind of surreal thinking about wearing glasses now... [update 2/12/2017] I was driving to work the other day and reminded myself of this review. It's hard to believe it's been 4 years, nearly to the day, already. I've never had any issues with my vision. Anyway, still a perfect experience and one I highly recommend to anyone in the market. --- --- Insight offers a lifetime insurance plan free of charge. In the first 2 years if you need re-lasered, it's free. After that, $500. They stand behind their work. The strangest part - you go completely blind while they perforate a flap on your eye. This lasts about 30 seconds. Also, you smell your eye burning (smells like burning hair) for 6 seconds while the laser is on. I took some half sick days the week after to go home and just chill out. Probably didn't have to do that, but it was nice. Also, I still use some drops every now and again when it's super sunny or I'm on the computer for a long time. You'll use drops a lot (once an hour) for the first few weeks as the flap on your eye heals. I have been to this eye clinic many times and I think I've seen all of the doctors there due to my complicated eyes. They have a great staff who have always been helpful and attentive to me. The doctors are very caring and thorough. They are all specialized in different parts of the eye and it is apparent how much knowledge and experience they have. Had a retina examination and it was fine. Paid through HSA, but then started receiving invoices for the service, even though it was paid. 6 phone calls, and several reassurances that yes, they had made an error later, I received a collections letter. The admin staff is incompetent. read more

If you're going to get Lasik use Michael Bollenbacher. Very good and he won't recommend LASIK if you don't need it. I felt like he had integrity, efficiency, and very competent. He also takes the time to explain everything in a very clear way. read more

Had my initial visit with Dr Richard Stewart. Staff excellent beginning to end. Dr Stewart was very approachable and informative and willing to answer any questions clearly. Gave all the facts and recommendations but intimately left that decision up to me. I look forward to my final eye measurements next month and cataract surgery in July knowing I will be in good hands. read more

This facility is very deceptive. On the surface, everything looks great, and the doctors will try and schmooze you into what they want you to believe. They will lie to your face and deceive you. They will pull you in for tests for their own purposes to try and cover their own asses, falsify records, and try and bill the insurance company for it. I called them out on that, and they didn't get away with it. They abuse their employees. The doctors pull the employees in on their ruses. I over heard two employees talking about my case, and they were in on Dr. Johnson's ruse. I'm filing a complaint at the state level about this facility. read more

I went to visions in June 2017 and will not go back. They were very busy to the point of being disorganized. After having several tests run I was examined for a prescription. The examination by Dr. Stewart seemed rushed. After he left another person came in and tweaked the prescription by trying a few other settings. I paid by medicaid. I was sure that the left eye prescription was not correct, so I went to an ophthalmologist in Boulder to have another eye exam and get a prescription, and it was very different for the left eye from the one I got from Visions. Two months after going to Visions I received a bill for $50 for a 'refraction'. I called the billing office to ask why I was not informed that was not covered by medicaid. The woman just said that it wasn't and the fine print states that I'm liable for all charges. I paid it, but would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I had PRK done in of July 2017. I had the worst eye sight. I could not even recognize you if you were standing right in front of me. I had to have the PRK because my cornea was to thin. I was really nervous and worried about the surgery but the staff at Insight are amazing they made sure I felt comfortable about the procedure and walked me through what to expect. It took me a good 3 months before I could see and not have blurry vision, I was so worried that it would not change. But Dr. Bollenbacher told me not to give up and assured me it would change, just had to be patient. Now I can see great! I just wish I would have had this done many m any years ago. It was the best decision I have ever made! I would recommend Vision Group to anyone that is thinking about getting Correctional vision. I went to 3 other lasik centers and had the free consultation done. Insight Vision group was the best one. They answered all of my questions and made me feel like I was not just a patient but someone that they wanted to help see. Also they wanted to pick the best and right procedure for me. I had cataract surgery from Dr. Richard Stewart. When I was rolled into the Operating Room late, Dr. Stewart was engaged in conversations with the support team in the OR. He was trying to determine why the OR was running late that morning and was looking for someone to blame. He began the surgery without ever addressing me at all to describe what he was doing and what to expect while he was doing the cataract surgery. When I finally raised my hand and pleaded with him to please talk me through his procedure while he was doing the surgery so I would know what to expect, he rudely offered to stop the procedure if I wasn't happy with his unrelated conversations going on in the OR. Surgery follow-up is not done with Dr. Stewart but is done by Dr. Lee. She apologized for Dr. Stewart's behavior and explained that he sometimes forgets that patients are not unconscious during cataract surgery. A week later, I foolishly had Dr. Stewart do my second eye. This time he made sure he spoke to me during the surgery, which I appreciated. However, when I got home and looked at the implant record cards to document the lens implants used in my eyes, they both indicate both lens were put in my right eye. I followed up with Foothills Surgery Center to obtain my medical record, which indicated the same problem, that both lens were for my right eye. Obviously this was a mistake. However it left me with uncertainty about just how deep the errors were regarding my cataract surgery. I also learned that I was the 17th of 19 surgeries Dr. Stewart performed at Foothills Surgery Center the day I had my second eye surgery. read more
