Wouldn't give me the measurements for my glasses. I had an eye exam here and the nurse was very nice, the doctor was above and beyond great. After the exam, met with staff in charge of frames and lenses. As soon as I told them I was relying on my TWO different insurance companies for the product I was quickly convinced they would not help me. I asked for the measurements for me to order glasses online and they said they wouldn't, even had to ask her manager, they both said no. I've been going to Complete Eye Care for 3+ yrs now even though they are 20+ miles away. Their staff is professional, courteous and kind to their customers. They listen to the customer's needs and finds the best solution for glasses and pricing. They are especially wonderful when it comes to working with Veterans such as myself. When I need glasses the Veteran's Administration provides me with a voucher with a low dollar a.ount and yet the folks at Complete Eye Care always seems to match me with a great pair of glasses. I've had an annual exam and several follow up appointments after my LASIK procedure and am very impressed with all of the measures that they are taking to keep patients safe. You must call from the parking lot and answer questions regarding symptoms, all of the staff are wearing masks and face shields, you just sanitize your hands prior to a pulse ox reading. I've also only ever seen one other patient in the building during my appointment. Even pre-Covid I would give Complete Eye Care five stars based on my experience over the last two years with them. read more

While setting up the appointment for an eye exam I gave them my insurance information. I also gave them my insurance card when I arrived for my appointment. After my exam they informed me that I had a copay and they would not honor my discount for glasses provided by my insurer (AARP Medicare Advantage) Why didn't they give that information when I made the appointment or when they checked me in? I love Dr.Carlson, however the staff leaves much to be desired. The first time I visited the office was 3 years ago. I walked in 20min early to fill out the paperwork, turned it in and was asked to wait. Okay, sure I was early, whatever...so I wait. Receptionist helps a couple other people with their glasses, okay, that happens, but then she walks to the back and literally forgets about me. An hour and 45 min after walking in the door, she walks back, sits down and ignores I'm there. Livid, I walked up and asked her how long it would be. She then decides to tell me there was an emergency, and it would be a few more minutes. That would have been nice to know an hour earlier.. So I wait, and finally Dr.Carlson is available. My appointment went fine after that, so I decide to let that one slide as a mistake. And I shouldn't have. The next year Dr.Carlson is unavailable for and appointments, so I book an appointment with the new doctor in the office. She's got 2 appointments in a row, so I book my son right after that. I very clearly said I would like a contact lenses fitting. Receptionist says okay, I got you down for a fitting and your son's appointment. Great! I think.. I show up 15 min early and fill out the paperwork, very clearly stating I would like contact lenses. My son goes first, and all is fine. Then it comes to my turn. She asks if there is anything I wanted to talk about and I say 'yeah, my eyes have been a little dry, and I would like contact lenses'. She says okay, and starts with the eye exam. That was literally the last time she directly said anything to me before 'goodbye'. She goes through the exam chatting away with my son, doesn't say a word about dryness, and doesn't bother with a lens fitting. She ushered us out quickly and vanished back into another exam room before I can even say anything. Again, I left pissed off. My husband urged me to give them another chance, because I do like Dr.Carlson. So this year I call and book an appointment. I literally stated I wanted to book a contact lens fitting - no mention of 'eye exam' at all. I got an eye exam, which was fine, but they looked surprised when I said I wanted a lens fitting...really guys? Okay, no biggy, no one forgets to actually do the fitting this time. I order my 1yr supply, and they should be at my house within a week. And they are, but not the right prescription. I call them up to say there is an issue the next morning and she says they will fix it and they should be in within another week. I made the call on 2-6, but they didn't remember to order them until 2-11. I got them today and they aren't even the right lenses, again (right prescription, wrong product). Fantastic, I get to call again! On top of all this, my son managed to break his glasses so badly that they were unwearable. He had an appointment anyways on the feb 22nd, so I called to see if there was any way to get him in earlier. I was told there wasn't any appointments, but she could put him on the waiting list. Okay, I think that's reasonable, and let them do their thing. My son is having trouble in school, and can't see, so on Friday I call and see if there is any way to get him in. Oh yeah! They say, they can put him in for Monday. With the history, I'm glad I called them, as I doubt someone would have remembered to call me.... So now I'm sitting here 2 1/2 weeks past my appointment, with no lenses. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but be warned they do NOT value your time, and certainly overbook appointments so that even in the case where it's somewhat urgent to be seen, the chances of getting an appointment within a reasonable time are very slim. After this year, I'm done, Dr.Carlson is great, but the staff attention to detail and customer care is absolutly abysmal. read more

Complete Eye care is great! I have been going there for nearly 10 years and have always had a positive experience. Linda Carlson is a great Dr. She not only prescribes the proper eye solution, but gets to know you. This is important because I wasn't aware that my eye sight was fluctuating over the past ten years, up and down. By the Dr. asking the right questions about how things were going in life, she found that under higher stress situations she noticed the pattern of my sight getting worse for longer periods of time. So, she took in all the information and took the time to understand you. I never had an issue with the front desk staff. Always picked up the phone on the second ring, and at random appointment or drop-in there was always someone at the front counter available to help immediately. Also, when I arrived for appointments, I noticed no one ever leaving the front desk for any long period of times. Recently, I ran out of contacts (oops, customers fault! yes that is possible! But, customers are always perfect right?!). I called Complete Eye Care and they took care of my miscalculation and mistake! No trouble at all! So, I would highly recommend Complete Eye Care and Dr. Carlson and the staff. They always have been great and always provided the good customer service over the past ten years. read more

Been going here for years, had eye appointment today and without even letting us know they were not on our insurance network anymore, I went to checkout instead of the $20 co pay we're charged $118! Talk about shocked they could have at least said something when I made appointment. Very disappointed and will be finding new eye doctor. read more

That one star is for the new doctor. She was awesome. But the three other people I had the DISPLEASURE of dealing with were not. First, we walk in, a little late, my husband toting my newborn and I step up to the counter. The lady pulls out paperwork and tells my husband to sign the guardian paperwork.... for me. I HAD ALREADY CALLED HIM BABE. I'm like, I'm his wife, and she looked generally suprised.... wow.... anyway, minor slip, no big deal. The next guy that does the normal yeasts doesn't talk or laugh. He's just quiet. No big deal. Neither of these people deal with people as a doctor - I'll deal. Like I said the new young doctor is FANTASTIC. She was sweet and funny. But the real kicker came AFTER the exam. We go to look at frames and the differ won't let us look. Now before I continue, let me mention that My husband has SEVERE CPTSD and one of his triggers is things being shoved in his face. We ask to look at frames and he automatically says we NEED to get the non-reflective coating. Mind you, this only costs at most 40 to put on without insurance, but our insurance offers this or a number of other 'upgrades including a high frame balance(what we wanted). We both ask for the frame balance amount. He doesn't answer. Instead he starts handing glasses to my husband saying - this is what you want. This is what you need. Obviously he wanted us put. All the while I'm watching my husband panic. His hand starts movinf at his side. A sign he's being triggered. Mind you, I'm still asking for space AND OUR AMOUNT WE CAN SPEND. The end of it comes when my husband says he might like a pair but wants to look. The guy says no that s the pair you want and shoves the measuring device to his face. I watch my husbands hand clench and tell the guy to stop. We're coming back layer. No. No we aren't. I calm my husband outside and he goes in to get our prescriptions. I'll never come back because of that guy. You lost my 7+ year use of you all. And I personally called everyone I've recommended you to and taken back my recommendation. Hopefully that sweet doctor finds a place where everyone respects their clientele read more

When I first went in to get an eye exam, the ladies were great. It took a little longer than expected only because they wanted to make absolute sure that they were accurate on my eyesight. Much appreciated. Writing this part of the review for Britney. She helped me choose my glasses and was very patient with my indecisiveness. Made great suggestions and made me feel like she really wanted to help. She called me to pick up my glasses and stated they closed at 6pm. I work an hour away and was rushing to pick them up. I got there at 5:57pm and she was getting ready to close down. When I walked in, she helped me and took time to make sure that my glasses fit perfectly. read more

I feel Dr. Carlson is highly qualified and experienced. To be honest, however, I have considered changing because of the apparent issues with the office staff. I have left messages with them to have Dr. Carlson call me. Eiher they have not given her the messages, or she's too busy to call me back. I called this morning with a poential emergency caused by new eye drops she's having me use. I called at 9:30 am and said it was rather urgent. The staff is less than pleasent and the wait time far exceeds the average 15 minutes that most allow for. I think the Dr is good at her job but doesn't allow enough time or respect the fact that the rest of us have other places to be and didn't plan to spend an over excess of time in her office. I was doing some work installing a security camera in a drop ceiling. I should've been wearing eye protection but I was almost done. Darn it! Don't you know that is always when the inevitable bad thing happens. I looked up to slide the last ceiling tile into place when something fell and landed directly in my eye. I blinked and I felt a little burning sensation. It was then I just knew a piece of fiber glass was causing it. My wife told me we had to get Dr. Carlson to help me with it. My eye was irritated and red and burning. It looked like I was a sobbing mess. Dr. Carlson saved the day. With her crazy awesome expertise she retrieved the fiber glass shard and treated my eye. I had an abrasion because I rubbed it out of reflex. It so would've been much worse without getting seen so quickly. Thanks Dr. Carlson for saving me from further injury! I received an eye exam from Dr. Wills Vanray, and was very pleased with the professional service I received from the receptionist, eye exam tech, and Dr. Vanray. I had Lasik surgery 10 years ago, and had not had an eye exam since. I felt the exam was thorough and Dr. Vanray did a great job of answering the number of questions that I had.
