Stopped in for a couple of beers: sold on their Saison Blanc farmhouse ale. It's in Mid-City Industrial, but the food truck and tons of parked cars, and bikes, will clue you in that you should stop in. read more

Good beer, great story. The tour was great. I can't wait to see what the patio will be like. There seems to be a high demand for their beer so hopefully they can keep up with the growth. read more

Went here when our friend came to visit from Connecticut. Really liked the location and setting of the taproom. A few different game options, but some were missing pieces or cards. We got a flight, as we usually do. I enjoyed the porter and my girlfriend loved the IPA. read more

Great beer, cool atmosphere and neat T-shirt's! Staff was very helpful and polite. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town!

Insight brews some great beer, no debate there. Definitely try anything you haven't had from them. Their double dry hopped IPA was excellent, as was their wine barrel aged wild ale. Service was good, but their options in terms of ordering smaller sizes of beer are pretty rigid. You can order six sample pours (5 ounces each), but not less than six at a time? Come on. You also can't order pours that are smaller than a pint other than the sample flight (i.e. no half pints or 10 ounce pours). When I asked if I could do a shorter pour, the bartender bluntly said "no, I don't have any buttons for those options." That said, they will give you free samples of anything you would like. read more

One of my favorite taprooms in the cities! They have a good range in their flagships and are always experimenting with new approaches. Definitely not another gold rush enterprise. These folks truly respect the beer but they know how to have fun with it too. Food trucks, cool peeps behind the bar and in front of it, a nice space and great beer. Come in on Mondays for $7 growler fills. read more

I first started visiting this brewery last year, and it quickly became a favorite. All of their beers are amazing, I haven't had one I didn't enjoy. Crazy Aunt is my favorite for Summer, it is unusual and refreshing. Otherwise Troll Way and Dankbot are awesome for when I am in the mood for a more hoppy beer. They have friendly and helpful staff, an affordable happy hour ($4 beers) and a comfortable atmosphere. Everyone should definitely visit this brewery. read more

Well it's a brewery and that means it's pretty bare bones. The staff moves like molasses considering that they don't have to mix shit and the place was not packed. The price is right to deal with it however. I also think that the order here line should never be too long because you are pouring beer. I also think service could be be faster. read more

This place flies under the radar! It's not far from the massive Surly brewery so it's usually not as busy as some other more established NE taprooms (Indeed, Dangerous Man, 612, etc.) and we enjoyed high quality brews at a reasonable price. They have both indoor (well appointed with plenty of tables) and outdoor seating (we lucked out and had gorgeous weather so we played a game of bags outside while drinking) in addition to a taco from the food truck parked in their lot. read more

To be fair I was upset at being turned away when people obviously had fresh beers. But thems the breaks the thing I really learned is you can't trust hours listed on yelp. I'm a troll on this review. Insight is cool the beers are tastiee and MOST of the staff are hospitible. read more

Solid beers, especially the seasonal Gravity Well. Beers have gotten better since the place opened. A decent selection of food trucks always listed on the website. The taproom is bustling and it's good to go during off-hours - sometimes the line to order drinks can be long and some evenings they run out of seats. read more

Good beers and decent happy hour specials. No food but food trucks show up regularly. Nice atmosphere/taproom.

Excellent selection of beers and a friendly staff. They have don't make their own food but have good food trucks visit. I enjoyed visiting this brewery. read more

Great brewery, it has been a staple in my Twin Cities rotation. The space is excellent and the staff has always been great! I love the hell chicken and trollway brews that are part of the standard line up. Only down side is that on busy nights the order queue can get lengthy as the employ an 'order here' system, not for everyone. But this can be remedied with a small dose of patience. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough! One of the cool features if the space is the large glass doors that allow you to see into the brewery. Additionally they have a diversity and large amount seating from high tops to booths to leather couches, making it a great place to meet and socialize. read more

Huge tap room. Lots of seating. Didn't notice a patio, but I hear they have one in the works. Great place to grab a beer and shoot the shit. read more

Just an amazing day at Insight, celebrating my 50th! They had a spot reserved for us, everyone there was more than helpful. Friends were loving the beer and the environment...thanks for everything Insight! read more

I love this place! I found it on a brewery crawl and do come back often now. Great atmosphere and superb beer! I do love stouts and porters but there Hell Chicken beer is growing on me. read more

I love the beers at this NE Minneapolis brewery. I'm a fan of imperial stouts, and nothing beats Insight's Gravity Well, which you can get either aged in either Scotch or Bourbon barrels. Another standout is the Troll Way IPA, the perfect beer for a warm summer evening. read more

Fantastic place with great tasting and unique brews. I couldn't believe how easy drinking yet flavorful all the beers were. I have never cared for porters much but the Chiswick was great. The place is huge which made it comfortable on a very busy opening night. Staff and owners are all great people who welcome conversation with the patrons. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with Insight. Lots of room and plenty of seating. Like many tap rooms it has games for people to play. A food truck was there right in the parking lot. The beer list is unique, I enjoyed the Lamb & Flag beer on tap. Three different sizes of beer available 10oz, 16oz, and 20oz makes for a great way to try a beer if you'd don't want to buy a flight. If it had a few more beers I like it would be a perfect spot for me. I would recommend this spot. read more

Awesome taproom. Every single beer was really great. They had a LamBerry Cask on tap that was perfectly beer-y, but not too sweet. I've been to most new breweries in the metro and this is one of my new faves because I really loved every beer. Awesome service. General manager was friendly and fun to talk to. Need to give Insight a try if you haven't been there! read more

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of Insight's beers is: MEMORABLE! You can never be disappointed with your choice. Beers: check; Atmosphere: check; Prices: check! #wecraftlegends read more

I'm a self-proclaimed wine and cider lady, but I do like the beer here (as does my beer-loving husband). I like the food trucks and outdoor space, hoping to bring my pups there this summer. The trivia nights on Tuesday are great! Love the $7 growler refills on Monday too! read more

Just a beautiful taproom, lots of space, artwork, and ambiance. My favorite is the Yuzu Pale Ale, yuzu is a fruit from Japan which gives this beer a mild sweetness. It is not very hoppy and easy drinking. The IPA is very well balanced. Growler refills are only $12 while most other taprroms are 15-17 dollars read more

I usually stop in Monday nights so there are plenty of tables and can accommodate larger groups. The food trucks out front are fun but usually pricey because they are your only food option around. The most important part is that the beer tastes great and there are a variety of types that satisfy each member of my picky group. read more

Great spot to sit and have a beer with friends. The atmosphere is laid back. Went here with a friend on a Sunday a few weeks ago to do homework. The staff is friendly and conversational. I recommend the Troll Way beer. Enjoy! read more

Excellent selection of beers, nice tap room and some nice food truck options when I have been there. One of my favorites in the cities now.

One of the few breweries open in the early part of the week. What's better than their beer is their happy hour which is hard to find for a brewery. $3 pints till 6 mon-wed. Fun place for me and my wife to meet on our way home from work. read more

Stopped at Insight this last weekend and walked into heaven! The Yuzu Pale Ale was extremely tasty and nothing like I've had in town. Their porter was to die for as well and I would recommend everyone to stop in and try some beers. The taproom vibe was contagious and the staff was very helpful, I will definitely be making frequent stops here! read more

I feel like there should be two reviews here, one for the quality of the beer and one for the taproom. The beer I give four stars. My friend brings home growlers frequently which I have enjoyed on numerous occasions. Highlights are definitely the IPA and saison. Don't recall all the brews he's brought back, but none were offensive- all very drinkable. So beer I would give four stars. I have visited the taproom once. Service was impeccable. We had a great French dip from Vic's food truck outside. I have what may seem like a petty gripe, but the beers were served too cold. There have been some other mentions of strange aftertaste and such in the reviews here, and the beer temp is the problem, brings out the bitterness in more complex brews and hides all the good stuff. So I implore you, insight, get the beer to the proper temp! The mountains don't need to be blue, you're not serving swill! Until they warm it up a bit, I'm sticking to growlers. read more

This is my first time reviewing on yelp, but figured that this was a great place to start with! Insight Brewing Company was a great experience. The space is absolutely amazing; very spacious and comfortable. Their logo is completely awesome! It was great to see their support of local artists by having their work displayed on the walls of the taproom. The service was excellent. Even though it was busy the night I went in with some friends, the employees made you feel welcomed. We had an order of three flights which would normally take a while to get ready, but the bartenders helped each other out to get us the flights quickly. The beers were phenomenal! It was exciting to see that the beers reflected on the places that the Master brewer brewed in. We were all very impressed with how Insight got its name. It's a very unique story that separates them from the rest. The other thing that we really enjoyed was that the owners were at the taproom. You could tell that they were very passionate about what they do because they were there, at 9pm, talking with everyone that wanted to meet them, had questions or simply wanted to tell them how great the beer and space was. We were one of the groups that had a couple of questions about the brewing process so we asked and then we ended the night with a tour of the brewhouse. Overall, Insight Brewing was awesome! Great beer, great company, and great service! Definitely will be telling everyone I know to check this place out! read more

Really good beer. The crazy aunt is like a gin and tonic that is like no other beer I've ever had. The IPAs were all good. The bartenders were excellent. The atmosphere is good. read more

I recently attended a tour at Insight despite not having super strong feelings about their beer...I'd tried some of them in cans or on tap around town (Hell Chicken, Sunken City, and Troll Way) and thought they were good, but actually visiting the taproom really elevated my opinion of them as a brewery. The service was top notch, every beer I tried was excellent (especially the Devil's Companion on nitro) and the back story (which i will not spoil for you...go on a tour and hear it for yourself!) was super interesting. There was also ample seating, and the bar was well staffed so I rarely had to wait for a pint despite the fact that it was busy. Overall, the taproom has a fun atmosphere complete with an absurd number of games I've never heard of -- so for that reason alone, I'd like to make it back soon. I also love a good sour, and they had a few in barrels that sounded intriguing so I'll be back to give those a try. read more

Good brewery! Sunken city is my favorite beer here, it is one of the best saison I have had. They used to be a more fun spot to visit, staff were friendlier, and the happy hours were better. They are closed for a private events so much! I have made the trek here quite a few times and found them shut down. I wish there was a way for them to give a beer coupon (other breweries do this) or communicate that the brewery is closed. :/ Over all I give 4 stars for beer quality but now I walk in and feel like a stranger. It definitely is not the small brewery it was two years ago. Good for them though, I'm glad they are making more money (I assume them having a more corporate feel means that), they earned it. I used to look forward to coming in and now I would rather just buy their beer in the store and drink it at home. read more

This place gets a low rating from me for customer service. There seems to be an attitude thing from the people behind the bar.I have so many other breweries/taprooms I would rather go to. read more

Overall very horrible experience here. The beer is average at best especially considering the steep prices. There is very little seating and no food offerings. Service was unprofessional and very unwelcoming. Other breweries in the twin cities have much better service, more seats, and better tasting beer. I certainly won't be back. read more

I'd give this place five stars for the space and the beer, but one (or zero!) star for the service, so two stars is generous. I was there this past weekend, and we had a great time DESPITE THE FACT that we were totally weirded out by the guy who waited on us. We sat at the bar for an hour or so. In that time, we watched him count the tip jar at least three times, rather than wait on people. I've been going to bars for a LONG time, and I've never seen anything like that before. It was as if he only cared about knowing how much he was making in tips! It was a little disconcerting (and a LOT rude). Teach your tenders that the service comes first! The tips get counted at the end of the night. (And the guy kind of weirded us out in other ways, too, but whatever. I guess it takes all kinds.) read more

Best beer in town! Great variety. Can't wait for their Banshee Cutter beer to come back. Super friendly staff too!

great beer. Yuzu pale ale is very unique, Monday's you can refill your growler for SEVEN DOLLARS!!!!

I've visited Insight several times now, for their open house, soft opening and their grand opening and it gets better every time I go. Well laid out, spacious taproom. Walls are adorned with art from local artists, which serves as something of a rotating gallery. If you really like a piece, almost every thing is for sale with the prices listed right below, along with the artists contact information. Great way to show off some talented local artists. Beautiful bar that sweeps all the way across the back wall, so there's plenty of room for people to pull up to the bar and have a pint, or just come up and order a pint to take back to any one of their many tables, booths or couches. The beers themselves are fantastic and really seem to live up to the tag line of "globally inspired brewing". The Chiswick Porter and the Lamb & Flag english bitter would feel right at home in an English pub, both of which were probably inspired by the brew maestros time spent brewing at Fuller's in London. Yuzu Pale ale is a pale ale brewed with a Yuzu fruit, which is citrus fruit discovered while brewing with Kiuchi in Japan. Lots of unique styles and ingredients gathered from around the would, now available to us right here at home. Really looking forward to spending more time in their taproom and seeing what other interesting recipes they brew up next! read more
