Unbelievable place. First of all when my insurance approved my co pay the center was very slow to get in touch with me and when they finally did they wanted me to come in same day for the study. This was not possible so I did schedule for Sunday night. Unfortunately I came down with the flu and did not want to expose their team so called many times on Saturday and Sunday to reschedule. I sent an email and even talked to their chat assistant Which turned out to be a total waste of time. It took until Tuesday morning before I heard from the center. They did not care that I was sick and want to charge me another 200 dollars for not showing up. In my mind I did them a favor. The last thing I wanted to do is expose their team. Over all I will never show my face in that place. I feel this company does not even deserve a rating. Money before heath, perfect description of Innovative Sleep Center. You ask what to improve? How about closing your doors so a real sleep center can be established. read more

My device was recalled. I was told by Phillips that this place would call me. I waited a year after my recall. Lo and behold, after I called them, they all of a sudden "found" my machine. Terrible company. Terrible people in general, actually. They made fun of me in the back. Snickering, like mean girls in a high school. They always kick you around like they don't want to actually take care of you. It takes months to get stuff done with this company. They are very unfriendly. They give off vibes like they don't give a shit about you or their job. I will take my business elsewhere and make a file with the BBB. If your doctor assigns you to this place, called them back and do what you can to get out! They told me they don't accept Medi-Cal and then all of a sudden now they do. Just had a sleep study here last night and the walls must be paper thin - I could hear someone hacking a lung for the first 2-3 hours and anytime someone opened or closed a door it sounded like mine was being opened. The bed was also one of the most uncomfortable one's I've slept on (think, motel 6). I complained about being unable to sleep to the tech and have been told I will just have to do the study again and "take a sleep aid" depending on my results (AKA, spend more $$$). Overall, for the almost $800 I had to shell out I was expecting much more out of my first sleep study. This may just be another one of those medical things us Chiconians need to drive down to Sacramento for. read more

Ask how much you have to pay in co-pay. They say that "insurance accepted and your ready to schedule" once you get there they hit you with a $300+ co-pay. I went there and every person that walked in for their study was surprised with this co-pay. Don't use this service, try to find a pulmonologist and actually talk with an MD. read more

If I could leave 0 I could. My review has both to do with the professionalism, and humanity this place seems to be lacking overall. I generally only take the time to leave positive reviews, since I work in customer service and I know people complain just because they can, so I'd rather be the exception, except in this case... I've been there a total of 2 times. Tonight will be visit 3. The first time the woman was courteous and helpful. Made me feel comfortable in a situation I truly was worried about experiencing. I would give her personally 5 stars. The second time the Male tech barely responded to any concerns, seemed to have trouble doing anything the female tech did with ease, and there was zero bedside manor. When I told him the troubles I was having, I was told that the trouble I was having was my fault, not the mask. Yet when getting the follow up call, I was told the mask given to me, made my sleep worse and I need a more advanced mask so to come in a 3rd time. Day of 3rd visit, we have to rush our pup to the vet and get the worst news, our beloved dog Arlo has fatal liver failure and cannot be left alone. I call to explain the situation, apologize and ask to reschedule given the horrible circumstances. Fully expecting to pay $25-50 copays bc I called last minute. I am then told they have a strict no cancel late policy, and would be charging me $200. I cannot afford $200 given I'm already paying so much for our pups unexpected emergency care. I realize people call out for silly things, and that causes issues, but given that I could not keep the call through tears, I honestly cannot believe the heartless reply I got. I'm not sure how you're supposed to get an accurate sleep reading on anyone losing a furry family member actually sleeping with any accuracy same day, but if you have a choice of where to do your sleep study, and want any sort of comfort or human understanding while doing so, DO NOT go to this place. ***and just for some background, I grew up in hospitals and medical environments because I have CP, and have had 10 surgeries total. I was also a military kid for most of those, so not only am I not someone who expects extra comforts (military hospitals dont have that) where they do not and cannot exist. I ALSO have a family full of nurses and techs etc in the medical profession, so I fully believe they have some of the hardest jobs around, and never the respect they truly deserve in most cases. And I STILL think this place lacks empathy both in the patient procedure (for my second visit- the female tech was their only bright star in my first visit), and in how they handle their schedules patients with an actual emergency. Any place willing to take advantage of an actual family emergency, in such a grievous way, is not really someone I would recommend having enough empathy to truly see the patient as a person, something that should be essential in modern medicine and care especially considering all the symptoms and considerations needed to diagnose apnoea. read more

Very rude staff at the Chico location. I have been in there for numerous sleep studies and have seen cockroaches in the building.

I'm sure some of the people that work here are good at their job and care about the patients, but this is very much a for profit business. Helping people with medical issues is not a priority. $45 copays for maybe 10 minutes of time spent there, that includes the time to weigh me and take my blood pressure. Then wait a few minutes for an employee to come in and tell me everything looks ok. They email me, text me and call me when it's time to "refill my cpap supplies". Over $100 for a new mask that I can buy online for less than $20. The first lady I dealt with in my first appointment seemed to know her stuff but the second time I came in there was a young man who didn't know jack. He wasted my time and money. Also, in none of the visits I had with them (I've been using the machine for over a year now) did anybody tell me about the app I could download to monitor my data myself. read more

Had my 2nd experience here, this time getting fitted for CPAP. It was another great experience. I definitely recommend the Chico location.

AVOID. They are liars and thieves. They ordered test after test that were unnecessary! After calling around to other local sleep centers, I found out that they should not have ordered additional sleep tests on the different breathing machines that could have been done during the first one or two tests. The tests are not pleasant and this caused a lot of additional stress and discomfort, not to mention big $$$. After completing several tests I was informed that there is a time limit to completing the "series of tests required" in order for Medicare to cover it and that I had exceeded that time limit, therefore "requiring" that the SAME TESTS BE REPEATED. I have done at least five tests as well as two consultations specifically questioning their practices where I was assured that this is correct. I and an adviser in the field searched through the Medicare rules for this topic and can find NO SUCH TIME LIMIT. The front office staff could be heard chatting and giggling during some of my visits and there were food smells in the office. I worked for years in a medical office where both of these are strictly forbidden. The night time technicians' behavior and mannerisms were professional and courteous. I never saw a doctor there. read more

10-27-21 I had a sleep test done and the guy was very disrespectful very mental health pushy disrespectful a beautiful I've been a client for over 10 years and they tell me that I cannot sleep with my mask on and I sleep with my mask on all the time and if I don't I have more hallucinations I don't sleep my mind runs around on me which makes me more depressed and suicidal and the guy just does what he wants to do he kept telling me he can't do this he can't do that I'm not a first time customer I ask for the wires to be taken off of me 2 different times and he refused to do it so I pulled all the wires off of my head Guy is mentally abuseful read more

Speaking with billing my account issue has been resolved. I will be getting (I forgot the specific term here) a statement of sorts detailing this for my records. Service when you're going in for a sleep study is top notch, however I did not need this additional stress during a very stressful 5 months. On top that it seems my insurance overlooked a small detail preventing them (Innovative Sleep Centers) from being able to properly bill for my account. It's taken well over a dozen phone calls and intervention from their supervisor (my insurance carrier's that is) to fix the issue and only AFTER it's too late do I know why there was a problem. read more

Ok I need to verify a policy that they have at the sleep study in Chico. They want you to reschedule 24 hrs in advance which I did but you may not reschedule more than three times. The first time I wasn't feeling good had a cod and thought wow I want a good study so I rescheduled. The second time was before my pay day didn't have gas. So I just called to reschedule on my third time and they wouldn't do it Wow thanks a lot I think you should maintain a good enviroment for PEOPLE's health or is it not that important. Beware......they charged me $100 for my copay, telling me before they even had my insurance info that it was going to be that much, just figured wow that's high, but okay. Never questioned it until I got my EOB from my insurance, they over charged me $75. So I called my insurance they agreed yes you were over charged so she did a 3 way call to the sleep center, and they had the nerve to blame it on my insurance saying they were misinformed, saying we call insurance to find out what each person's copay is, NOT TRUE, NOT to mention it states right on my insurance card $25, I just didn't know any better to question it at the time. I'm still waiting on my refund, but you have to wonder how many people DON'T question it. Pretty dishonest if you ask me. And I'm only giving them a star cuz you have too. read more

This review is STRICTLY about the front office. Coming from a family with a background in and above average knowledge of how medical offices are run, front offices are more or less a separate identity and not necessarily an indication of the MEDICAL service provided, however, fairly few practitioners are aware of the problems unless someone says something to THEM. Let this serve as such. 1.) Send paperwork out in advance of the appointment so it's: a.) Completed in an environment where pertinent information is at the patient's fingertips, b.) Not having to be completed in less than private surroundings c.) Completed in a thorough and timely manner Note: consider sending electronically to minimize errors and maximize efficiency 2.) Conduct all patient contact in a private setting. The current setup has your waiting patients listening to employee banter (read kvetching), in on confidential information being gathered/discussed with other patients 3.) Instruct your staff to ONLY use emergency contact information WHEN THERE IS AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY, not as a primary contact! a.) Our initial contact was during unrelated 3 HOUR SURGERY to the patient's sister who lives 300 miles away and made for a great deal of worry that was completely unnecessary b.) Since then, all contact has been via the secondary emergency contact and NEVER directly to the PATIENT, thus delaying the process on both ends c.) Why is the primary emergency contact for someone NOT in the household? Of the 20 people we shared this frustration with, all had the same response; their "closest" non-resident emergency contact was no less than 3 hours away and generally not even a party to the individual's medical status. d.) Even though the non-resident emergency contact can supply necessary patient information in the event of an actual emergency does NOT mean they are privy to the patient's present AND CONFIDENTIAL medical situation. Thus, when what is a benign contact for the purposes of scheduling an appointment, the patient is thus forced into having to share private, personal information with the concerned relative. Remember, we still have to attend Thanksgiving dinner with them and prefer not to be the main topic of conversation. 4.) When scheduling a sleep study, and during the initial consultation, why isn't there a brochure/pamphlet and checklist provided to the patient so they know what to expect, what to bring/not bring/wear, addresses frequently asked questions (e.g. what happens if I have to use the restroom during the study?), has information for the person who will be picking them up afterwards, and tips for how to prepare so that the best results are afforded from the study? We were given nothing and yet a study was scheduled for 48 hours later subsequently and resulted in a lot of calls, missed calls, and reservation/nervousness. That doesn't seem to be a very good combination especially given the circumstances. 5.) Misinformation seems rampant, disorganized, and is utterly frustrating (and possibly why the patient's bp was elevated). From the initial contact to the secondary and tertiary contacts (you were told to wait 2 weeks after the surgery, yet called 6 times subsequently within 3 days); from the scheduling to the confirmation which had us in the Yuba offices when we're in Chico thus causing yet more confusion and frustration as the next available appointment was a week out, to the scheduling of the actual sleep study which resulted in several calls yet again to the secondary emergency contact instead of the patient. And the patient will actually have decent results once the study is completed? How, precisely? Finally, for this part, what is that odor that permeates the center? It's horrible! read more

My mother in law refuses to go back here and i don't blame her. They can't seem to get it right the first time. Or the second time. Or the third time. I feel there just out for the money involved and not to help the patients. I'm glad her doctor agreed and has referred us somewhere else. read more

This sleep Center is wonderful. Very neat and spotlessly clean! The staff is wonderful, especially Sarah, the tech who worked with me. I'm hearing impaired and she obviously is used to working with hearing impaired people like me as she does it very well. She's very patient and kind, and really put me at ease. This place has been nothing but wonderful! From the start, the staff has been nothing but professional, helpful, and caring. I had a ton of questions regarding the process surrounding a Sleep Study, the girls in the front office as well as the Physician's Assistant that I saw for my appointments answered all my questions and concerns. They helped put my anxiety about the testing at ease. When I left my new patient appointment, they provided me with information that would help me prepare for my study and went over the breakdown of my insurance coverage. My questions were answered and I was ready for my study. My sleep study was scheduled shortly after my new patient appointment (which I was super happy I didn't have to wait 2 months to get in). The night techs were informative and explained the process of the sleep study well. When my results were in, the staff in the front office call me to ask if I wanted a follow up with the PA or to go over the results on the phone. Since I was informed that there could be more than 1 study in the process of diagnosing and treating sleep apnea, I chose to go over them on the phone. I had to come back for an additional test to be treated on a CPAP machine, during that test I was diagnosed with (in addition to obstructive sleep apnea) central sleep apnea. I had no idea my apnea was so bad! The front office called and when over my results from this test and I ended up having to come back for another test to be tested on a more advanced machine for OSA and CSA. Upon completion of my testing, I was nothing but happy and thrilled with my results. I was anxious to get setup with my machine and start my new journey at home apnea free. This office and the staff has been gone above and beyond my expectations and would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone! read more

The first study with the CPAP machine did not work, so they required another sleep study with a different machine. That has been ineffective too, so they want another study. I don't think so. The shift manager came in to the room and started lecturing about use of the TV. She was angry and agitated... for no reason. Could not understand her hostility nor get her to go away and leave the room. Extremely upsetting. Our assigned technician was very nice, but the manager was... well, you know. I would not recommend this place, and will not go back there myself. read more

I had my sleep study last night. Shawnee was my tech and she made me feel so comfortable with the study. She was professional and had such a warm personality. When I was getting ready to leave, a very kind young lady was cleaning the rooms. Lisa was the PA I had my consultation with and she was knowledgeable and wonderful to speak to. They explained what the cost would be up front....very very affordable. I highly recommend this Chico office. read more
