Dr. Robert Reeve is a brilliant ophthalmologist. I have been a patient of his for a long time now and he takes the best care of my eyes. He is a compassionate, kind, caring, respectful, professional physician who puts his patients first and foremost. Whenever there is an issue with my eyes he is always on top of it and brings me in the office to take care of it ASAP. His office staff and optometry department are absolutely amazing as well. Especially Cheryl in the office and Jordan, Romona, and Jessie in optometry. They always make sure all of my optical needs are taken care of in the most professional, respectful, kind manner. I came in on a referral from Amphla health and the eye doctor thought I had red eye when I had a eye virus and the eye Dr. Reeves bed side manner is cold and no caring. I won't be back. I'm a Chicoan. So go back to where you came from Reeves you suck. You were not helpful for poor folks. read more

Dr. David Woods is amazing. I had had cataract surgery 4 years ago in my town. It was a major fail. All my surgeon could say was he had no idea what the problem was, and he was sorry. 3 more specialists all said the same thing. Lens was perfect no reason I couldn't see. I was referred to DR Woods by another Chico eye clinic who did not take my new insurance. I spent 4 years looking for answers. It took DR Woods less than 2 minutes to diagnose what was wrong. I had been fitted with an expensive multi focal that was NOT Toric. Since I have astigmatism I needed Toric lenses. Surgery was quickly done on other eye, with a Toric lens and a contact lens in the first eye. I now see perfectly. Office is beyond professional... I have no negative comments at all. Who does that? You lead people on telling them insurance covers their glasses, then get them to sign a quick paper when they arrive that says the opposite. Then go to fit me for the most expensive ones. If you are preppy business that doesn't take medical. Say so. Instead of giving the impression that you do. Now they won't give me my prescription( it's not a prescription they can send out) whatever that means and want to charge me full price. You guys are cheats and it's all about sales. Waiting room was close to packed at 9:30 am. 110 minutes for a regular checkup. 3 minutes with the actual doctor. Over priced eye glass store. We don't have too many choices here in Chico. It's a mill. Too bad. It's getting harder and harder to find medical care that values quality over quantity. read more

Love these doctors and my experiences with the office. I had Lasik with Dr Woods in 2017 and not only was my surgery experience wonderful but also during my post operative period. I am a bit of a worrier and he saw my daily for at least a week to help me feel good about all the changes in my vision. I would highly recommend this office for all your eye care needs! read more

I have been going to Reeves-Woods for years now and they are, by far, the best eye doctors I have seen. As long as I am in Chico, I will never change doctors. They are thorough, compassionate, and address all your eye issues with sound judgment and expertise. I also just had blepharoplasty & ptosis surgery and Dr Woods did an Amazing job. I would highly recommend Dr Reeves & Dr Woods. All I can say to patients who have complained of long wait times is Good things come to those that wait and patience is a virtue! So I was originally scheduled to see another Optometrist in April and was very frustrated about that. However, my amazing doctor at NVIH got me in to see Dr. Reeve today basically and stated they would authorize my glasses/contacts. AMAZING because to be honest I have medical and the glasses with those are less than attractive. I get there today for my appointment and the front desk staff was more than courteous. The young lady that took me back to have my eyes dilated and checked was very funny and personable. Doctor Reeve himself was short, didn't double check the young woman's numbers and just assumed that they were the right prescription and sent me out to get glasses and contacts. Fine, I get it he is a busy man but it would have been nice to have them checked again. I get to the station to get my glasses/contacts and all hell breaks loose. I get there and wait 20-30 mins to get seen for one. And then, I get called up. She right away tells me she cannot accept the waiver for glasses after I was already told by NVIH they would. I argue with her about this and finally break down and say to show me the medical glasses. They are hideous and she again speaks up and tells me that there is a 3 month wait for Medi-cal glasses. If not longer. At that point I ask her if I can just pay out of pocket for the frames and she says it would have to be both that they have to basically bill medi-cal all or nothing. I say nvm to the glasses and just take the trial contacts and leave. I am on the verge of tears at that point and call NVIH thinking I misunderstood them when it came to this visit with the frames. Nope they again say that they were supposed to pick up the frames and medical cover the rest. I was literally treated like I was poor garbage because I have straight medical. At this point I wish I waited for my other doctor in April. I wish I caught the woman's name but she was the only one working the eye station this morning so I am sure they can figure out who it was. I am okay leaving A STAR for the amazing women that took care of me from the start. However, everything afterwards was horrid. DO NOT GO TO THEM IF YOU HAVE MEDI-CAL! I am serious, they say they accept it but they will treat you like shit and you will probably walk away crying like I did. read more
