Walked in 10 minutes prior to my appointment. They have you fill out a few papers, most not filled out so no personal information, and they blast the whole social security number in the front page. Then asked me to fill out the same paper I just filled out. Waited 40 minutes to be called. The lady that scheduled me was super rude. The whole front side lobby girls clearly don't want this easy job. They way over book the place. Dr. Levine was so nice. And she clearly loves her line of work. Definitely only going back for her expertise. read more

Quality of care Good WHEN you get care Care is Hit or Miss. mainly Miss Wait times of 1 1/2 hours is normal. They have gotten bigger than their capacity to handle. Do not recommend read more

The office staff is very unfriendly. They don't return your calls. Had to call 5 times on different days until I told them I wouldn't be put on hold because they never come back on the phone. read more

We've been going there for the last 5 years or so, and this time was our best yet! We were both in and out in an hour! Dr Hastings was kind, polite, and professional. He gave us good advice on how to take care of the dry eyes we both have. All the staff has been friendly and nice every time we've been. read more

Dr. Robert Reeve is a brilliant ophthalmologist. I have been a patient of his for a long time now and he takes the best care of my eyes. He is a compassionate, kind, caring, respectful, professional physician who puts his patients first and foremost. Whenever there is an issue with my eyes he is always on top of it and brings me in the office to take care of it ASAP. His office staff and optometry department are absolutely amazing as well. Especially Cheryl in the office and Jordan, Romona, and Jessie in optometry. They always make sure all of my optical needs are taken care of in the most professional, respectful, kind manner. For all of your optical needs Reeve Woods Eye Center is the best! Intelligence, Integrity, Importance. (The I's(eyes) have it here). Many Thanks to you Dr. Reeve and your incredible staff. Extremely negative atmosphere. No one seems happy to be there. No cohesion between departments. Doctor's bedside manner is atrocious. They seldom pick up the phone. I recommend going elsewhere if you have a choice. read more

Clean area, comfortable chairs. Kind and polite service from behind the desks. Seemed to be modern technology/machinery, which is beneficial for all After my first visit, I feel very comfortable going back to that office. read more

Possibly the best eye dr I've ever had. Highly recommend this place. Spotless clean location with very knowledgeable staff.

Yolanda in the optical department at Reeve Woods eye center was amazing. She was kind, patient, and very sweet with my daughter as we got her glasses for the first time. She was informative and very pleasant to work with. Thank you for a great experience! read more

Dr. David Woods is amazing. I had had cataract surgery 4 years ago in my town. It was a major fail. All my surgeon could say was he had no idea what the problem was, and he was sorry. 3 more specialists all said the same thing. Lens was perfect no reason I couldn't see. I was referred to DR Woods by another Chico eye clinic who did not take my new insurance. I spent 4 years looking for answers. It took DR Woods less than 2 minutes to diagnose what was wrong. I had been fitted with an expensive multi focal that was NOT Toric. Since I have astigmatism I needed Toric lenses. Surgery was quickly done on other eye, with a Toric lens and a contact lens in the first eye. I now see perfectly. Office is beyond professional... I have no negative comments at all. Highly recommend. read more

I came in on a referral from Amphla health and the eye doctor thought I had red eye when I had a eye virus and the eye Dr. Reeves bed side manner is cold and no caring. I won't be back. I'm a Chicoan. So go back to where you came from Reeves you suck. You were not helpful for poor folks. read more

Who does that? You lead people on telling them insurance covers their glasses, then get them to sign a quick paper when they arrive that says the opposite. Then go to fit me for the most expensive ones. If you are preppy business that doesn't take medical. Say so. Instead of giving the impression that you do. Now they won't give me my prescription( it's not a prescription they can send out) whatever that means and want to charge me full price. You guys are cheats and it's all about sales. Not to mention the awful long wait times. I knew it was too good to be true. read more

Everyone who works here is absolutely great. Dr. Reeve is such a patient, caring, competent doctor! My family has been seeing him for decades. My husband and I had him remove our cataracts in the last year and we are really happy with his care and the kind helpfulness of the office. read more

Waiting room was close to packed at 9:30 am. 110 minutes for a regular checkup. 3 minutes with the actual doctor. Over priced eye glass store. We don't have too many choices here in Chico. It's a mill. Too bad. It's getting harder and harder to find medical care that values quality over quantity. read more

Front desk girls were so rude to the older clientele. Yes they were busy but the way in which they talked to them when the patients wanted to ask questions was so unprofessional. read more

Love these doctors and my experiences with the office. I had Lasik with Dr Woods in 2017 and not only was my surgery experience wonderful but also during my post operative period. I am a bit of a worrier and he saw my daily for at least a week to help me feel good about all the changes in my vision. I would highly recommend this office for all your eye care needs! read more

See all

I saw Dr. Woods yesterday and was pleased with the care I received from each person involved in the process, from Gabby at the front desk, Rosa and (another) Gabby who tested my vision, and Dr. Woods himself who explained everything and presented my choices re: cataract surgery. I don't need it yet but will surely return in this next year to get this done. Thank you all. read more

I have been going to Reeves-Woods for years now and they are, by far, the best eye doctors I have seen. As long as I am in Chico, I will never change doctors. They are thorough, compassionate, and address all your eye issues with sound judgment and expertise. I also just had blepharoplasty & ptosis surgery and Dr Woods did an Amazing job. I would highly recommend Dr Reeves & Dr Woods. All I can say to patients who have complained of long wait times is Good things come to those that wait and patience is a virtue! These doctors are worth the wait. Great job Doctors! Keep up the good work. You and your staff are phenomenal!! Thank you read more

My husband went to Dr. Woods recently and he was very impressed with his service. He found an issue that needs immediate attention and he had his staff refer him out. The front staff and back office staff very nice and answered all our questions. We would highly recommend this office. read more

So I was originally scheduled to see another Optometrist in April and was very frustrated about that. However, my amazing doctor at NVIH got me in to see Dr. Reeve today basically and stated they would authorize my glasses/contacts. AMAZING because to be honest I have medical and the glasses with those are less than attractive. I get there today for my appointment and the front desk staff was more than courteous. The young lady that took me back to have my eyes dilated and checked was very funny and personable. Doctor Reeve himself was short, didn't double check the young woman's numbers and just assumed that they were the right prescription and sent me out to get glasses and contacts. Fine, I get it he is a busy man but it would have been nice to have them checked again. I get to the station to get my glasses/contacts and all hell breaks loose. I get there and wait 20-30 mins to get seen for one. And then, I get called up. She right away tells me she cannot accept the waiver for glasses after I was already told by NVIH they would. I argue with her about this and finally break down and say to show me the medical glasses. They are hideous and she again speaks up and tells me that there is a 3 month wait for Medi-cal glasses. If not longer. At that point I ask her if I can just pay out of pocket for the frames and she says it would have to be both that they have to basically bill medi-cal all or nothing. I say nvm to the glasses and just take the trial contacts and leave. I am on the verge of tears at that point and call NVIH thinking I misunderstood them when it came to this visit with the frames. Nope they again say that they were supposed to pick up the frames and medical cover the rest. I was literally treated like I was poor garbage because I have straight medical. At this point I wish I waited for my other doctor in April. I wish I caught the woman's name but she was the only one working the eye station this morning so I am sure they can figure out who it was. I am okay leaving A STAR for the amazing women that took care of me from the start. However, everything afterwards was horrid. DO NOT GO TO THEM IF YOU HAVE MEDI-CAL! I am serious, they say they accept it but they will treat you like shit and you will probably walk away crying like I did. read more
