I've been coming here 6-7 years when I was transferred from another " pain specialist" as he retired. The office staff while friendly enough is for the most part, uneducated in this field. The turn over rate is extremely high. The Dr's have their moments. Dr. Bonus I feel is the best for me. He is who I started with but like most was moved to Dr. Diya. Dr. Bonis has to fly up from SOCal and isn't always timely. Lippmann I don't see often. No complaints. I'm a pump patient so am seen every 4 months for a fill. I received a steroid shot on my back in Sept of 25 and felt s cattle prod like jolt and immediately lost all feeling in my right leg and still do not have it back in Feb of 26. I reported it to the nurse who was taking care of me after the injection and the doctor came in and said nothing he did caused that. He had been storytelling during the injection and the shock came when he was laughing. Follow u appointments and he still denied it. I asked if anything could be done and he said he would put in for physical therapy. He never did. Then my primary care physician said I could get an emg nerve study done. Why didn't IPS recommend that? read more

Dr.Diya did not pay attention during visits. Staff was poor getting back to patients. Although message on office phone says nurse will get back to u in 24 hours. Medication was not called in to pharmacy and could not get response back from nurses. Patients r not treated well by staff. My experience left me with 2 trips to Enloe ER and needing to be transported to UCSF ICU. I still suffer from PTSD after this whole experience. As many have already mentioned, the doctors are amazing. They listen, they seem to care, I've never felt rushed, and have always been given multiple options for my care (this goes for my husband as well). But this review is geared towards the office staff, which I believe takes the biggest hit from patients. I've never, ever had a bad experience with any of the office staff here. They're polite, they've listened to me whine, and even helped me while I shed some tears. When I've had emergencies, they've put time into making sure I was taken care of. I need to give an extra shout out to Heidi who seems to take the brunt of my requests, phone calls and teary sessions. Thank you to everyone for taking on such a huge role. The doctors seem pretty good and approach treatment plans eagerly however some of the office staff could use some real training when it comes to working with the public. I rarely encounter such rude unprofessional behavior as I have here and it's enough to make patients want to seek treatment elsewhere. Perhaps it's the growing pains. Maybe it's their corporate. Either way, since they have "grown" the attitude of some of the staff has been brusk and seemingly focused on numbers instead of patient care. I wonder if Dr. Lipman is aware of this. read more

I went there a month ago. Gave me 18 pages to fill out. I missed some. I was 15 minutes early. I said I can finish now. Only one there. She took my documents and said no. I took the entire morning from work off driving from Red Bluff. The receptionist said no you are cancelled. I said can I speak to someone else and she said no. She said dont take your frustrations out on me. Cost me money and work time ony to be dismissed rudely. I am going in tomorrow hopefully a better conclusion read more

I saw Dr Bonis in Lincoln before that office closed. Compared to UC Davis Pain Management, Dr Bonis wins. It's no contest. Doctors at UCD do not use anesthesia. It was so traumatic, I will never go back to them. I'd rather take a bullet! Dr Bonis is brilliant and experienced, plus he's funny. I had great results. When you're in pain for so long, you forget what it's like to be free of it. People (especially women) in chronic pain die early, so he is saving lives. He helps level the playing field so we can be more independent and enjoy life again. Under treating pain is criminal, but it's the norm now (unless you can see Dr Bonis). read more

manager sucks. front office sucks. most nurses are rude who bring us to the room's, but i finaly met a nice 1 this week for my appointment with doctor bonus. I hope she doesnt get sucked in with the mean 1's. only have seen a couple doctored there dr bonus who is good and 1 other i don't recall his name but was good to. 4 stars for nurse and doctors and 0 stars for the rest. read more

The office staff does not get back to you. They are not friendly. I had three appointments, and saw three different doctors, Dr. Bonis, Dr. Lipman, and Dr. Maurice-Diya. I don't understand why I would not be seeing the same doctor but I digress. The first indicated that they would take over the pain medication I was on and ordered an injection. The second perfromed the injection, and I really had no more interaction with him. The follow up with with a completely different doctor, Dr. Maurice-Diya. The injection was not helpful, and though in pain, was told they will not help and to go back to my family doctor for any medication, even though the first doctor indicated that they would take over the medication. The staff is really not helpful. I called a few weeks after my injection and left a message with the assistant of doctor who performed the procedure, letting them know I am in pain, etc. No response for days, and I get a text message out of the blue saying I have a new appointment date or time. No one called or asked if I could make the new date and time, nor did they call and address any of the questions I had when I left the message. I am going to see about getting a referral to another pain management specialist, this one obviously does not care. There is zero sense of concern, or urgency, when dealing with me. It's funny, it's almost as if you are putting them out by simply having questions, or concerns. If you do anything other than nod your head yes to whatever they say, you become a problem to them. There is no sense of care or compassion. I sincerely do not want to waste my time and energy dealing with people like this. read more

After a couple of procedures that were less invasive Dr. Bonis suggested an external battery interacting with a implanted conductor and wires attached to my internal nerves that blocked the pain from going to my brain. While it did not end my pain it substantially reduced the pain that has caused me to be on Norco for decades. My thanks to Dr. Bonin' knowledge and persistence. Stanford Spine Center, UCSF , etc. were unable to help me. read more

I've had really good experiences with the doctors here but the office staff tend to be rude, impatient and take several reminders to do things like sending referrals or getting test results. There's always an excuse and it usually starts with blaming the patient. I went here in the past and had a lot of issues with the office staff then as well. I was hoping with the new people it would be better but it isn't. Unfortunately there just aren't many choices around here. read more

My Dr is wonderful. The medical staff is absolutely horrible & lazy. They never call back. I've run out of medicine before. I didn't get any until i could talk to my Dr days later. You can no longer leave a Google review as 99% of the reviews were complaints about the medical staff & not getting medication or callbacks. Dr's are great but staff is CRAP!!! read more

I arrived a 2:40 for a 3pm appt. I did the proper paper work. Returned it to the receptionist. I waited 45 mins without anyone updating me on delay. I said something about it. Then was taken to an room for my BP. Which was very high by then. Imagine that. I waited another 15 mins. I stepped out in the hallway to get someone's attention and I was only going to stay a little longer because it had already been an hour wait. By then I was anger and appalled how inconsiderate the staff was. I told them don't even think about billing my insurance. I will not go back! read more

I've lived with chronic sciatic nerve pain for a long time and I ended up with bulging disc and could not hardly walk if it wasn't for dr. I made an appointment with Interventional Pain and had to cancel several appointments secondary to being hospitalized. I am sure they got tired of me calling and canceling but it didn't show! The office staff was super polite, and always wished me well! Well, long story short, I finally got to my appointment with Todd, PA and I couldn't be more impressed! He got right to the point, and is making it possible to get the treatment I need. Todd and the office staff are both professional and eager to solve my problem. My experiences with the doctors were great. I would like to say the first procedure was prompt; it only took three weeks to authorize and schedule because the doctor walked me up to the office window with directions. However, I had to wait three or more months for the following procedures for a bulging disc with arthritis. When I called about it, none of the front office staff knew anything about either procedure, though they offered for me to come in to make another appointment. I called my insurance on both occasions and they stated that both procedures had been authorized a month ahead of time. The front office cannot get out of its own way. On top of that, they are rude over the phone and they rarely get back to you if they tell you they will they will investigate a problem. The front office and their service is horrible. This is what you are really paying for, very poor customer interaction. This does not apply to the doctors. As I said, they were all great. read more

This is about the office, not the doctors. I've been going here for a few years or so now. Every single time I need a procedure/treatment done the staff doesn't send in the correct paperwork for a prior authorization, so I have to wait even longer for it to get approved. In fact, my last visit was this past spring and it has almost been 5 or so months with no response from the office on when I could get back in to get what I need to get done. I called 5 or so times, left messages and kept getting the run around. I kept getting told to call this person or that person. I've talked to several different staff members and getting an approval from insurance should not take as long as it does here. I used to do prior authorizations myself. I eventually gave up. HORRIBLE, horrible patient care. I gave an extra star for Dr. Todd being such a nice guy and someone who listens and wants to help. read more

I have been going to interventional pain solutions for more then four years. I have seen every doctor that is in the Chico office at one time or another & I have nothing but rave reviews for them all. I have had chronic pain for 26 years & have been to a number of doctors over the years. This is the 1st time that I actually felt that someone actually listened to me. Dr. lipman was a blessing after so much hardship. they have worked with me to find ways to help where others just gave drugs or worse tried to take away the only thing that gave me a little bit of relief, thinking my pain would get better or go away. dr lipman & his staff actually care and go above & beyond to help there patients. the staff make you feel comfortable talk to you like a person. it's refreshing knowing that they care. I would recommend Dr. Lipman & his staff to anyone. In fact i have referred two family members as well as friends & strangers. Do yourself a favor if you have pain if you want someone to listen and want to help then make an appointment see for yourself. You won't be disappointed. read more

This office is very perplexing to work with. Constantly changing appts. around sometimes not answering phones . The pt. Fell and broke a bone..asked that Dr. Gets message, the nurse took it upon herself that if the pt. Runs out of pain meds, which was intended for another purpose, the pt. Cannot get a refill sooner. This judgement call was made by the nurse, not the dr...really? The Dr. Wasnt even present in the office to ask. read more

OK, so after a few hoops, my surgery in Redding was set up as outpatient for 45 minutes. Day of surgery the team had been moved to another building due to the contractor not completing the job at where they were supposed to be able to work. Despite this, they had everything set up and were working all day on patients. I ended up being last due to complications from a lot of scar tissue (this was a replacement of my pain pump - the third one), and there were a lot of people involved - the guy from Medtronic (manufacturer of the pain pump), three of the doctors (Lipman as head surgeon, Gasman as anesthesiologist, and Dr. Diya, my care doctor), and various other folks. Oddly, I was semi-awake for a lot of the procedure, although I didn't feel any pain, and couldn't talk or anything. Dr. Gasman did an outstanding job of balancing my anesthesiology throughout an unexpectedly very extended (several hours) session - I didn't even have the usual nausea afterwards, nor any "hangover", so it was the best service I have ever received (I have had many surgeries) in that department! My caregiver (waiting in the lobby of the operating facility) said he saw Dr. Gasman leaving, and that he looked "truly exhausted", so anybody who tells you it is only the surgeon doing the hard work is wrong. Because of the excess scar tissue, poor Dr. Lipman DID have a lot of extra work with me, and he was super careful, which translated into a reasonably quick healing of the incision area despite previous scarring, and not a lot of extra pain brought on from having to remove all of that built-up excess internal scar tissue. I am not exactly svelte, either, and I know that made it harder for everyone, but I never heard any complaints or criticisms - only concern for my well-being and the possible complications brought on by my unique situation. I also liked Dr. Lipman for having a personal, frank conversation with me about the considerations attendant to my being accepted as a patient there. I like it when professionals step out of their official roles and speak like regular people about things that are really important to them - while allowing you the space to do so as well. That happens rarely these days - especially in the now-highly-politicised area of pain management, and I appreciated it. I hope with the new CDC Guidelines coming out at the end of this year, that some of the problems we have all been going through since 2016 will lessen in severity, and we patients will get better, more appropriate pain care, while the doctors who have been scapegoated and harassed horribly will find some relief so that they can do the things that are important to them - taking care of us patients. I write and call my legislators (state AND federal) regularly about pain patient and pain doctor issues, and so should any of you reading this post. If you are a lawyer, or know somebody who is, get involved with advocating for pain doctors and their patients too! read more
