Dr. Cohen is an amazing healer. I tell him that he is going to put himself out of business... before seeing him for my neck issues, I had to see a chiropractor twice a week. After a few sessions with him I was able to come in once and month and now it is only once in a long while when I need a tune up. I've had chronic neck pains and a reverse c curve. I had been visiting another chiropractor for one year and hardly made any progress. I also felt like my visit wasn't specialized for me, but instead a standard routine that he applied to all of his patients. Dr. Cohen is completely different. He pays close attention to my specific needs. Not only has he helped me so much with my neck concerns, but also has gotten rid of the loud snap that my hip did daily as well as the pain that I had in my left knee. Dr. Cohen is by far the best "chiropractor" I've seen. I say that in quotes because he isn't a standard/traditional chiropractor who wants you to come in 3 times a week to make adjustments. He uses a variety of techniques that also focus on muscle work. This includes active release, physical therapy, rock tape, traditional adjustments, and more. He really takes a whole-body approach as opposed to looking only at alignment, and his knowledge is incredible. I saw Dr. Cohen for back and neck issues involving nerve pain and loss of mobility but found out that my issues extended to most of the right side of my upper body. I had several muscles (from my lat to my forearm) that weren't firing properly. Within 3 visits (one per week) I regained full functionality. As an athlete, I was thrilled to be able to return to exercising. Yes, he seems expensive out right, but considering it only took 3 visits for me, he was much cheaper than traditional chiropractors. He also takes insurance, which makes treatment considerably cheaper (at least for me). He is also a very honest practitioner (and very friendly). He wants to permanently fix your issues instead of having you come in once a week for an eternity for so called "maintenance" adjustments that other chiropractors have you do. read more

Over the last 3 years I've seen many doctors, specialists, and have gone to physical therapy. I love this Dr. Cohen! This man is a chiropractor like no other, he has so many tools in his toolbox, and is able to diagnose the underlying issue very quickly. He has helped me with my low back, my neck, and my knee, as well as given me easy-to-implement tips on adjusting my posture and gait. He takes the time to look at issues from several different angles, and does what it takes to get it corrected. He has used cups, deep tissue massage, taping, and applied kinesiology to treat my problems, in addition of course, to an adjustment. But because he uses these other modalities, the adjustments actually stick. Plus there is an awesome acupuncturist there as well, I like to go in for back to back treatments! (If you're really nosy you can read a review of one in my list) Basically, they were OK and a lot cheaper, but not the same experience. After having these pains for several weeks - literal pain in my (left) butt and my right knee. I decided I needed to make the time to go to Innate, and I was really glad i did. It's been about 4 days since my appointment and my glute feels no pain and my knee, while still a bit rickety - has shown improvement. Dr. Cohen is an amazing specialist whom I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon! I've been seeing him semi-regularly for nearly 5 years now. I also drive from two towns over just to see him, when there are literally dozens of other chiropractors in my immediate vicinity. Years ago we met at a climbing gym in Berkeley where he was giving free spinal evaluations to people using electrical sensory equipment. Being familiar with these scans (having had them before) I wanted to see how I was faring after all the rough treatment I'd been giving myself at work and the gym. It turned out that I was in need of some adjustments, which didn't surprise me as I'd had previous conditions (work injury claims) and was an avid climber. He scanned my girlfriend at the time, who was also in the same trade and climbed regularly, but said she had no alignment problems, so it gave me the sense that he is not out to try and make a buck - which is a reassuring feeling when seeing a medical professional. On that same note, I've also noticed he doesn't try to schedule appointments as frequently as other chiropractors I've seen. Dr. Cohen's practice incorporates spinal adjustments, active muscle release technique (which feels to me like an extremely targeted massage), vortex energy work (which is like reikki), neuro-emotional technique (NET - which is amazing, see this link: http://healing.about.com/od/net/a/net_jgazley.htm ) and applied kinesiology. He can use these techniques to recommend (or warn against) health supplements or agents which we come in contact, which is quite unique. Although not actively practicing, he even has a certificate in Shiatsu (he studied in Kyoto - ask him to speak Japanese). He has a fantastic massage chair, a great detoxing foot bath to boot, and from what I hear he plays a mean saxophone. His wellness center has acupuncture, massage and nutrition specialists, and I believe they have yoga and pilates instructors, as well. I had a great chiropractic but was looking for something very close to my house. Based on good yelp reviews I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Stefan. I've just gone once but was very pleased. I had pain and tension all over my neck, low back, shoulders. He used different methods I have never seen before, but everything seemed very knowledgable and caring. Left the office feeling lot better and still have tape on that he put on me for adjustments to stick better. He called few-days later, himself, to see how I am feeling and ask for feedback. This was my first chiropractic experience and it was amazing. I came to the doctor with unbearably hip pain and the inability to run on the treadmill to my full potential. The doctor is a magician and work for weeks with me and has taken my pain level during and after a run from 100 to almost zero. Dr. Cohen is the best! I came here a couple of months ago after dealing with a weird back injury for the last 6 years. It would occasionally flare up and cause pain and some numbness in my right arm, which would lead to a cycle of doctor appointments, imaging, and massage/physical therapy. I was tired of doing this every year so I decided to try chiropractic. I had never been to a chiropractor before and, honestly, I was a bit skeptical. Dr. Cohen did a very thorough initial assessment and a few adjustments and I almost couldn't believe how I felt after just one visit. My whole back felt SO much better- no pain, muscle stiffness and tightness were significantly reduced, and no numbness. I've been back twice for adjustments in my hip and shoulder and cupping on some very tight muscles. He's also given me exercises to do at home to strengthen my back. As another reviewer said, he makes surprising (and very accurate) connections between parts of the body and seems to fix these problems with ease. Overall, really nice office and staff. I was a little concerned at first about having a male chiropractor, but Dr. Cohen is so gentle, respectful and knowledgeable, has brought my body from a place where it was getting way overloaded with stress, to a place where it is so much more balanced, and in a very short time. There's nothing I've brought up as an issue that he hasn't dealt with before. When I first came in, my body ached in a lot of different places. Muscles, hips, legs. My whole body felt creaky standing up and moving after sitting in the car for 20 minutes, and I felt like I had to warm up my bones to get them going so I could do the simple walking I needed to do my errands. I tweaked my back and ended up with sciatica - half of the left leg numb, muscles inflamed and spasming. In pain, barely able to walk I ended up calling Dr Cohen's office on a whim - and dang. Best call I ever made. He took the time to work the muscles and spine, and his treatments showed super quick results. He doesn't just crack your back and sends you on your way. Dr Cohen's Active Release focus is a lot more subtle, and ends up treating the actual cause. In my case my spine was adjusted fine pretty quickly - but where I needed help was removing tension from over-stressed muscles to ease the pressure on the sciatic. Dr Cohen will talk to you how everything connects together, what he's doing, and what kind of stretches/exercises will help in getting back to normal. Dr. Cohen is a true healer. Whether isolated injury or multiple pain complaints have brought me in, he looks at the body holistically, takes in information and is able to test and treat in an effective manner. I've been to see him several times for specific body complaints - IT band pain, hip and back pain and he performs manual muscle testing to find the root of the pain. I love how he uses several different types of treatment (myofascial release, gentle adjustments, stretching, kinesiotaping) to address the problem. Dr. Cohen and his staff are really amazing. I have worked with him on and off for two years. On my first visit he immediately identified my pain as coming from an emotional place. He took me through a series of questions and we uncovered the emotional pain area. He did a couple of light adjustments and it was released! He works with various modalities and always stays current on what's new. He loves learning new things and finding ways to improve what he does. He is very honest and will not treat you if it is outside his expertise. I recently had a car accident and had pain with my shoulder. He tried to treat it, and after 2 or 3 times we did not see much improvement. Dr. Cohen was the first to suggest the next avenue of treatment and refer someone for me. I love his integrity & honesty. Tatiyana, another practitioner does a combination of massage and release work. This work for me was extremely helpful. She gives you tools to use and call on to release old conditions, habits and fears that live in your body that you can use any time. If you are detoxing, cleansing or just want to treat yourself, get a detox foot bath. So relaxing and the toxins just oooze right out. Innate Chiropractics is like one stop shopping for your health and wholeness! From time to time you will find different classes and teachers utilizing the space to do yoga or different workshops. They are always good as Dr. Cohen sets high standards for what he does and the wellness community that he is creating.
