Had lunch with a friend. Lovely setting on the side of Lanark Loch. Friendly, busy restaurant with good service and good food.
The restaurant is on the upper level with a balcony overlooking the loch.
We started with sharing the Bruschetta with tomatoes, red onion, garlic & fresh basil. Just what we needed - not too much and tasty.
Onto the mains with the Classic Beef Burger for me with smokey bacon, house sauce and hand cut chips. There are four other sauces - Creamy Pepper, Diane, Drambuie and Red Wine - but I stuck to the house. Friend had the Chicken, Leek and Bacon Pie which consisted of chunks of chicken breast, smoked bacon and sliced leeks covered in a rich creamy white wine sauce topped with puff pastry.
Both cooked to perfection and munched with much appreciation and enthusiasm
The bar knew what a "Rock Shandy" was without me having to explain so another tick for service.
Could not eat anymore so never got to the sweet menu. Next time for sure.
Lovely location, food, service and atmosphere. We will return. read more
