Pieri's has a nice selection of cold meats and cheeses as well as some gorgeous handmade chocolates and delicious ice cream. There is a café at the back of this deli and you can get a decent cup of proper Italian coffee and watch the big screen TV mounted on the wall. The staff are really friendly but unfortunately as Pieri's is quite expensive I don't get to pop in as often as I'd like. My budget can usually only stretch to Billy Bear Ham from Asda but next time I am feeling flush I shall certainly be treating myself to some fancy smancy ham from the lovely people at Pieri's!

Situated just round the corner from Helensburgh Central Railway Station, The Buffet Shop is the perfect place to top for tea and a bun while you are waiting for the train. With vibrant, friendly and helpful staff, this place is a breath of fresh air for the town and offers some truly sumptuous deli treats, including a fantastic range of freshly made sandwiches. I adore Peckhams, but I have come to realise that I don't frequent it enough. Must. Try. Harder…read more They're one of the original delis in the area and arguably still the best. Whether you're after a wee snacky delicacy for a dinner starter (or dessert!), that essential but hard-to-find exotic ingredient that you simply must-have for a recipe, a designer beer or three, or even a quality malt whisky, Peckhams is the place that you're likely to find it. I usually visit here when my eye is caught by a fancy malt whisky in the window (cunningly displayed right beside their cash machine, the cads!), or when I'm seeking margaritas mix for what has become a Christmas cocktails tradition with us. The West End would be a poorer place without Peckhams. Long may they continue.

I love Peckhams. I'm probably there far too often. They pride themselves on being able to cater to your foodie needs all day long, with pastries and rolls in the morning, a wide range of lunch options and even their own range of freshly made ready meals for dinner. Then of course they have offers for coffee and cake, should you need anything else in between. As far as I'm concerned, this is what delis should be like. They would get five stars out of five too, but the service can be just a little bit on the slow side. I don't mean when they're struggling with the lunchtime rush because that's fair enough. I mean, it can take them a few minutes to realise that you haven't been served, and in serving you some things they can be very slow (don't bother getting butter on your roll in the morning, unless you've got plenty of time on your hands). It's easy to forgive them because they're friendly and helpful and because everything is delicious but if they were just a tiny bit more efficient Peckhams would be perfect.

The stock is perhaps limited by its size but I aint complaining I would just like to see more. I havent used Food Heaven for its cafe so cannot comment. I use it purely to add to my larder. They sell Stornaway black pudding which often goes as soon as it comes in so you have to be quick, although I do think they order it. They also sell Really Garlicky Aioli which is divine. Purple basil jam, chili jam, quince lots of lovely stuff to go with the nice selection of cheeses and pates they have. The bread is also nice here again I would like to see a broader range but both the bloomer and the irish wheaten loaf are delicious. Findlaters pressed pear and dunsyre pate is also a current fave of mine and they stock this also, although its made in neighbouring Linlithgow and for sale at the monthly farmers market.

PS they do BYOB and stay open til 9pm some nights.

I have been a few times now and usually have a main, cake and I cant go past the hot chocolate! The only reason i've not given it 5 stars is because the steps leading down to it can be slightly dangerous and it isnt wheelchair suitable.
