Service was good. The food was exceptional. The Steak Pie was flavourful accompanied by fresh vegetables. The pastry served was flaky and hit the right spot. My daughter had the lasagne which was good. Wife had a Brie Beetroot and kale tart which was excellent. Pricing is reasonable. A short walk from the bus stop and you'll get to enjoy a delicious meal with great service. This place is located on a golf course with a hiking spot nearby, so you can enjoy the fine dining experience before trekking out to see Highland cows. First thing to recognize is the location, it's just gorgeous! it was about a 10-15 min drive from our flat in old town (not far at all)! I recommend bringing your walking shoes and make the walk up the hill to see the highland coos, as well as seeing an outside perspective/view of Edinburgh. Bring a jacket, it can get windy. Great services! Anika was amazing :) The food was brilliant, it was fresh a well prepared!we tried a a variety of plates, Swanston 8oz Beef Burger, Mac n Cheese (mouth watering bites)! The Swanston Steak Pie was also delicious! BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. A must have for dessert, Traditional Scottish Cranachan (with whisky). So. Good! Also tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Delicious! Great place to go for a drink. Great views lovely location in the Pentland's. Only down side is the last meal we went for was terrible ...hopefully this was a one off as up until then the food was good. read more
