After more than two weeks with no answers, I pushed them to investigate further and discovered that they hadn't properly connected the results to my account. When I finally received results, it was only for HALF of the tests that were ordered. The other half are still missing, and now I can't get anyone to respond or help resolve the issue. This has been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and unacceptable -- especially when people are often waiting on important health information.

I saw that the entrance doors open outward, which seemed to be a problem for some people. The reception gave me directions, and I found Radiology quickly. X-Ray staff were super friendly and helpful. The ED does some things very well: a dedicated nurse and doctor who triage each patient together; very friendly security guards who are helpful; polite and helpful registration people; and a separate room for families or individuals who need a dark, quiet place to wait. What is evident is: everything is resource constrained from parking to staff to chairs, to rooms, beds, doctors, nurses, etc. Some people seem to be here as if it's a convenient place to meet after tennis with the added benefit that they can get a shot for pain management. Others are splayed across sofas groaning and have been for the three hours we have been waiting for my husband to be seen for a stroke. My rating would be lower if everyone working in the ED wasn't hustling and very pleasant. They are all extremely dedicated to helping others. But, it is frustrating that resources are choked at some point and when your loved one needs emergency care that bottle neck is a huge problem.

I was obviously frustrated and upset, but that's on United Healthcare, not the people at SimonMed. In fact, the women at the front desk (Katherine and Adriana... I believe those were their names) were incredibly kind, going above and beyond to try and help me out. They called my insurance, they called my doctor, they walked me through what I needed to do to ensure I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. They made sure I was able to be seen the next day, and they did all of this with compassion, empathy, and smiles on their faces. Listen, healthcare in this country is a joke and MRIs are no fun, but let's not blame the people who are trying to help. If anything, the staff at the SR SimonMed made the situation as pleasant as possible. When I went back for my MRI, they checked in on me and even got me in and out early. Show a little kindness and you'll get it doubly in return.
