About 5 years ago I decided I needed more personal attention to my medical care and I knew Mei-Ling was the one for me. She is excellent at diagnosis, which is the bottom line most important thing you want when you leave a doctors office. I also have another primary care doc at ucsf but that's become a very difficult place to get attention, so I save him for when I already know what's wrong and need a scan or something similar to really define a problem. I also think the specialists at ucsf are among the best, but some of our locals are actually former ucsf staff members. Mei-Ling for example worked there prior to starting her own practice. Anyway, for too many reasons to enumerate I think if you aren't getting adequate attention to your needs, contact her regards her concierge service. It adds a bit of cost, but I've found it more than worthwhile to have a first quality doctor who will call back within an hour or so.

She's careful enough to research when necessary, so when she gives an answer immediately I trust it. When a serious problem came up a few years ago, she lined up the necessary consultations for us almost instantly. We've been with her for 9 years and value her care.

Dr. Dijkstra (now Dr Tagliaferre, she just got married) is one of the best doctors I've had - she's…read morejust wonderful. She makes her patients feel at ease, is very knowledgeable, and gives balanced and measured advice. She also goes above and beyond for her patients...I was in a pickle at this year because I found out my ob/gyn practice didn't accept doulas (they hadn't informed me, and I was 3 weeks away from delivering). Unfortunately most of the other practices were already booked and not accepting new patients. Dr Dijkstra empathized with my predicament, made a few calls and found me a solution. I was relieved and grateful to both her and her staff.

Dr. Tagliaferri is an amazing physician. She is seriously brilliant - very up to date with current…read moretrends in medicine and has a wonderful and kind demeanor about her that makes you feel comfortable, trusting of her expertise and in very capable hands. I saw her recently for cardiac symptoms that I was experiencing (as a young and athletic female, I'm not exactly your typical patient who has heart troubles). Dr. Tagliaferri listened to my concerns, asked key questions, and then thoughtfully explained potential diagnoses...it was easy to speak to her and I could clearly understand what she was thinking. I really appreciated that she did not dismiss my concerns because I am an atypical patient; she was very thorough. I am so, so glad I went to see her because I was referred (very quickly due to Dr. Tagliaferri's perseverance - she got my appointment moved up by a week and a half!) to a top-notch cardiologist who is very concerned about ruling out a serious issue. She even told me questions that I should ask the cardiologist! Dr. Tagliaferri really took the time to listen, investigate and understand what I was experiencing and I am truly grateful for her knowledge, compassion, and attentiveness. It makes me feel so much better to know I can put my health in such good hands.

The doctors and nurses are great here…read more The office management is a real mess with a very entitled office manager. My referral info was lost 2X. The day before my appointment I received a phone message that they had no info on me and didn't know why I was going there? I HAND DELIVERED THE SECOND COPY OF MY REFERRAL! There is a cadre of rotating front desk people serving a few different disciplines and they really don't know a thing about individual patients. I am just transitioning off KAISER and--- No info was taken off the forms I filled out. Instead old outdated info from over 7 years ago was put into the system and sent to the CT and all over everywhere. In still chasing down corrections. A friend of mine had her mother's referral info also lost several times I sent a message through MCC to Dr Evens and got a reply from the office manager which was generic info I had already read on the internet. IM NOT FEELING VERY SAFE HERE. Several months have gone by and I never got the log in info for the patient portal so I m unable to communicate with the doctor. A CADRE of rotating front desk serving several disciplines makes for a less cogent and weak follow through. They don't know a blessed thing about any individual patients. This is, BY FAR the worst I have ever encountered. I would think a bunch of blood tests and a CT of my brain would at the very least warrant some follow up communication and interpretation FROM THE DOCTOR? Am I supposed to read the test results and interpret for myself?? I have made uncountable requests for a written interpretation of values in question---many, many emails to Sydney Rankin the nurse for Dr Evens----got zero response I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! A FEW AREAS IN THE TESTS WERE INDICATED AS 3X HIGHER THAN NORMAL AND ANOTHER INDICATION AS BEING ABNORMAL. FOR GOD'S SAKE I would like to HEAR BACK FROM THE DOCTOR. But I got not a word from the doctor--just a "come back prn" from the office manager. which leaves me to assume what?????????? There is nothing definitive about a "come back prn " from the office manager! WHERE IS MY COMMUNICATION FROM THE DOCTOR? never got it--sadly have had to file a complaint with the medical board REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE--I DO NOT RECOMEND

It really is the most depressing experience calling here to get an appointment. I feel like saying…read moreto the staff, I'm sorry you hate your job. I'm sorry you have to answer the phone. I'm sorry if you're stressed and don't have enough appointments to go around. It's just a demoralizing experience to have sarcasm, rudeness and impatience creeping into just about every single conversation I've ever had with this office. It's like these people don't even LIKE dealing with patients, that much is clear. I don't know why they sign more and more people up with the doctor you have because the result is, it's a month's wait at least to see your own doctor even if the matter is urgent. Their website advertises 'world class care'. They forgot that you have to actually talk to someone to access this care when they wrote that statement. This health system is very broken.
