Their online site has never worked! I've made two appointments online and when I go in there's no record of them. Waiting room is always packed to the gills. The lab techs are very overworked and understaffed. Lots of reasons to avoid this lab!! Mismanaged. read more

The technicians have always been competent. My beef is with the organization. If you don't have any billing problems, or need to talk with someone, the experience is fine. But their customer service at the organizational level is horrific. And their prices, if insurance does not cover it, or if it's not prepaid through something like groupon, are way higher than the same tests at my local hospital. read more

I will make Quest Diagnostics in Safeway in Terra Linda San Rafael my go to lab. Rosier is very good at his job. He is relaxed, kind and efficient. I think Quest is lucky to have such a great employee. read more

I go to quest but in Marin it takes a week compared to two days at the most in Silicon Valley to get an appointment. Also the phlebotomist's are so over worked and not paid for it that they tend to be in a foul mood in Marin county. Sorry. read more

They are literally the worst. Appointments are never available unless you book months in advance I tried twice for a walk -in and the first time they got so backed up that ai waited until the closed for lunch and still wasn't seen. I said I'd come back, but they said that I would have to sign up for the standby list all over again, losing my place in line after waiting from 9:05-12:30. I tried again a few days later and came earlier, around 8:45 and there were 0 people waiting and 0 people being seen. I was so happy and thought for sure I would get in. They messed around on their computers for 10 minutes instead of seeing me. A person came in and signed in for her appointment. Still I waited hopefully. The lady with the appointment was seen. No one else came. The waiting room was empty. The other tech was idle. I still was not seen. At 9 some people started to check in for their appointments. It said that 6-7 appointments were scheduled every hour.... And yet they were only taking back one person every 20 minutes. The place was empty and the one person who had an appointment was waiting. Of course by 10:30 things got crowded with people and others looking to get a walk in so finally I left. Again. It feels like they purposely don't see the walk-in's to teach us a lesson or something. They are slow and very rude. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I spent 15 mins arguing with the technician about my insurance even though I had input all the information the night before into the check in. I have a government subsidized insurance that does not provide an insurance card. I go to the doctor probably at least 10x per year and have lab work every 4 months.. every other place has accepted me telling them my insurance info. I will never return to this lab. I know he was just following protocol but this was ridiculous. I had a letter from the government saying I was insured. This should have been sufficient This also caused me to spend over 15 mins in close contact with the technician in a small room during covid. Not happy read more

One cannot even ever talk to a person when you call the local number. I had some questions - but no - no questions allowed. The online appointment process is a nightmare. One can only check one location at a time. I needed appointment on any Monday - but no way to communicate that. I am a CLS and a CAP inspector. This is horrible serivce. They are all about the money and productivity - patient care is not even on their priority list. read more

I just wanted to say that Rosier is the best. He's usually there alone and always friendly. He's 1 in a million when it comes to drawing blood. Although I'm an easy stick and blessed with dream veins for phlebotomist, he was able to draw from daughter who's veins are next to impossible. 5 stars to Rosier for holding down the fort, making patients feel calm and cared for. read more

Do not come here if you are short on time. Questa's automated phone system insisted that 10:30 was one of the few available time slots for today. Thirty minutes past my appointment time, I am yet to be acknowledged and there is now a line of people behind me, presumably also with appointments. read more

Rosier was the technician, real sweet guy, very efficient. Didn't know what to expect from a lab in a grocery store but great experience.

Great staff, particularly Mr Rosier, and great service. I went here regularly for about three years for blood work and switched to San Rafael D Street (NOT recommended and I plan to switch back). They deal well with difficult patients (e.g kids, patients afraid of needles) and in my book have their priorities straight. As others have noted, there is often one person in the office when they need two. I always sign up for appointments on-line, almost always am seen on my appointment time although I feel bad when I jump walk-ins. No one likes medical tests but they are needed and the staff have a positive attitude. read more

So glad Quest is now in Novato at Rowland Way - very convenient. I made an appointment online which was really easy and I recommend because you can register and add your insurance information ahead of time. When I arrived there were quite a few people waiting. My appointment time was 10:30 and I ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes. The phlebotomist that did my blood work was very friendly and professional. I was in and out of there by 11. That's the way you want things to go - easy. read more

The technicians at this clinic are overworked. Long lines and only 1 person handling it all. He does it graciously and is kind and cheerful. But for the volume, he is clearly too busy to handle all of the volume. Quest leadership please help him. He is great, just needs help. read more

I came here a few months back for my 2nd blood test in my life. I am so afraid of doing blood tests, never go to the doctor to avoid this. But finally decided I should do a check and getting old... Wozier was very friendly and insured me that everything will be fine. As he kept a conversation with me, the blood drawn was painless and so quick I didn't notice it was done. AWESOME! read more

I went to this location last week, and was pleased with the experience. The log in screen was simple to use. There was no one at the desk when I came in but that wasn't a problem. The wait time was short, maybe 5 to 10 minutes. The lab tech was competent and pleasant, no problem finding the vein. He made sure to show me the vials with the blood drawn and my name correctly spelled on the label. All in all I was in and out of there in under 15 minutes. I'll use this Quest office in future as the one on D St. in San Rafael seemed to get poor reviews. read more

My husband made an appointment online for urinalysis and blood work that required fasting. Because the blood work required 12hrs fasting (and he wanted to avoid missing work), he was hoping to be seen in the morning- the best they could do was an 11AM appt to make the appointment. He did the fast the night before, went in for the 11AM appt and arrived to find a packed waiting area, an unstaffed reception desk which just had a sign-in sheet. He signed in and then waited about 20 mins before a technician came out and called another patient who they identified as having an 11AM appt- my husband asked when he would be called, since he also had an 11AM. He was feeling woozy from fasting and was desperately ready to give that urine sample. The technician said they had no record of his appointment and it would be about an hour and a half if he wanted to wait. My husband said there was no way he could wait and left, stopping my his dr's office which is just a few doors down to report the issue and see if there were other area labs that he could use instead. The doctor's office said they've been hearing complaints lately and gave him a list of a bunch of other labs he can use- although we don't know yet if his insurance will bill directly like Quest. I've used Kaiser for years, where you never have to make appt for blood work and generally get seen in 15 minutes or less- at least every time I've been there. Based on that experience I was so surprised at what happened with my husband that I did some quick Yelp research and found that strangely enough all the Quest locations in Marin have really poor ratings- except the one we went to; which is why I felt we really needed to share our experience. read more

This Quest location has the best people working there. Don't worry because it is at Safeway, these people are experts at drawing your blood. If you see any bad reviews, there are from grumpy people who complain about everything. Make sure you go online and make a appointment and you will not wait long. And if you had to fast for your blood test and you are hungry from not eating, your at Safeway already. COOKIES! read more

This has nothing to do with the poor phlebotomist who was staffed BY HERSELF with no administrative help, but everything to do with how stupidly Quest runs their business. Have adequate support. Hire another person. Your bottom line is less important if people walk out and leave you with less business. Saw this happen twice in the hour I was waiting patiently. This is the WORST lab I have ever been to. I went fasting for blood work and signed in. Two other patients were ahead of me. I sat down and waited for 30 minutes. The inside lab door never opened to let anyone out or in. Went to receptionist who was doing paper work. She said that there was NO ONE there to take blood. She said that hopefully someone would come in 1 and a half hours to help her out. I couldn't believe my ears. We promptly left and drove to our regular lab in Greenbrae (20 min away), LabCorp and I was seen immediately in 1 minute and out of there in five minutes Don't go to QuestDiagnostics EVER This was not my only experience of waiting at this lab. We have waited close to one hour at other times. Inexcusable read more

i booked online and expected the lab to be closed, since it's President's Day. Lab was open, with only one person running everything - Rosier. He is awesome. Efficient, pleasant, professional and upbeat. I was in right at my appointment time and out in 7 minutes (routine blood draw). I wish all me interactions with the medical industry were this efficient and productive. read more
