This place was disgusting. My son said to me, "shouldn't a place where you're going to get your blood drawn be clean?" I'm attaching pictures of the entry. It was not lit and clearly disgusting. There were no open appointments for three weeks and desperately needed to get this done so had to try to walk in. When you walk in it's all automated so you just sign up and wait. We got there at 11 am and they close at 12 (Saturday). At 11:30 someone who works there comes out and says they will not be servicing anyone after 11:50. At that point we are #6 in line so probably not happening. They come out again at 11:47 to say no one else is getting in. They were kind of rude in how they talked to everyone in the waiting area. Why we had to wait for 30 minutes to find this out is beyond me. There has to be a better way. They could tell you this when you first register. read more

Once you get in, the employee is very nice, upbeat, and efficient. She deserves 5 stars. The rest of the experience from booking an appointment, scarcity of appointments, check in experience, comfort waiting area, lack of WiFi, appearance and cleanliness of waiting area adds up to zero stars. I was one minute late, but my appointment was cancelled because I didn't check in early. The grace period is 30 seconds. The kiosk for check was so slow due to lack of Internet service or its age. Quest not only made it incredibly hard to find an appointment time that wasn't months out, they also didn't run all the tests my doctor ordered. And many of the tests they ran "didn't work" and said test results not available. I attempted to get in touch with someone there to tell them and ask for their assistance getting something scheduled before the end of 2025, and no one even bothered to answer. I went to Sutter Labs instead, but I had to do 2 blood draws for a basic order and it took me a ton of time and frustration to get this done. Of course, they had no problem sending me a bill even though they did all of this. I will not be going back to Quest. I can tell you, it's not worth it. read more

After fasting for over 15 hours, I went to Quest as a standby walk in and used the self check in which said I might have to wait for 30 to 60 minutes. After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, an employee came out to say that the staff would start taking lunch so things would slow down even more and that they only take standby walk ins when and if a person is a no show for an appt. I waited a bit more and then spoke to a short and dark haired female and asked how much longer it could be. She said it could be 3 hours and never said sorry for the wait, or showed any empathy. She said she had just got back from lunch, while there was a waiting room full of people waiting like me, and many of whom like myself had not eaten any food since the day before. She told me to call the 800 number on the back of the Quest business card if I want to complain about the ridiculously long wait time and lack of staff at that location. But when I called the number it just gave me an automated system for making or changing an appt, and never any option to speak to someone. I left this poorly run Quest location after fasting for 15 hours and waiting in their waiting room for 1 1/2 hours WITHOUT getting my blood drawn. While I was waiting I went on Yelp and saw the very poor ratings Quest has, especially at this location, with some reviews saying they had various problems, and I decided I did not want to do business or have my blood drawn by people who don't have better reviews and by people who lack customer service skills and empathy. A walk in or standby appt should be handled within a reasonable amount of time by a competently run business. It's disgusting that they have so little humanity or empathy for people who have not eaten any food since the day before and expect them to wait for 3 hours. Hire more staff and focus on customer service, treat people as you want to be treated and don't give a phone number that you know just wastes more of my time. I will never return after the very long wait and poor treatment at Quest. read more

You are encouraged to make an appointment, and directed to the most frustrating online scheduling process (over three hours trying to make an appointment on a system that frustrates at every turn and ultimately does not permit you to make an appointment). So, I tried showing up in person to make an appointment -- there is no receptionist, and no other human being working there has authority to make an appointment for you. This company is the WORST. I found a competitor nearby and made an online appointment in under five minutes. read more

So, I am medical professional that drops off specimen. I don't usually drop off in this site but since my patient is close by I went here. A lady was helping another patient and from the sound of her voice she is very nice. I forgot the name of the lady helping me though which is very nice and asked her if she can spare me some baggies for quest. She went to the lady who is very "helpful" and I guess she pulled her a side. The phlebotomists helping me told me that they can't. I said never heard of that, usually Quest is very generous since we give them clients. The lady who seems nice is name Satya or something....she said that Supervisor will call me and I will be waiting for it!!! It looks like someone in the upper management needs to visit this sites since there are a lot of complaints! read more

I needed a simple blood draw and walked out with bruises all over my arm. Additional bruising occurred when they wrapped the bandage too tight. It is hard to believe this is our only option and the technicians are so sloppy, they can't find a vein. Then, she finally got a little blood out and it spilled onto the floor and was on her gloves instead of in the test tube. I will request a different option for the future and recommend everyone stay away from this place. I don't bruise easily and this experience was ridiculously unprofessional. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A BLOOD TEST! I had an apt. for 8: 30 and arrived on time but the check in machine would not let me check in. I then waited 10 minutes and neither of the two technicians asked if anyone was not able to check in. So, 10 minutes later I asked one technician - who was just finished drawing blood from a patient, if someone could help. In front of the patient - she (Satyam) accused me of rolling my eyes by stating "we don't appreciate you rolling your eyes" and I informed her I wasn't rolling my eyes. She then stated " I saw you do that'. Then, later one blood technician could not draw blood from either arm, then the other one (Satyam) as able to draw my blood. When she was finished, I tactfully tried to give her feedback by coaching her that in the future if she see something - a non verbal behavior - which is not verbal , rather than use words to discuss this is front of another patient, she should speak to the person (me) privately. And what was her response; " You need to learn not to roll your eyes, and she could have asked me to leave." Why go to this branch with employees who are poorly trained and communicate in an angry way??? read more

My phlebotomist was doing just fine when the phlebotomist in the next cubicle came into ours and started YELLING about " coming in here telling us what to do ", that I was RUDE and if I didn't like", ect! The young woman doing my blood draw was GENTLE, very professional, kind and found my vein on the FIRST STICK!!! I was in heaven until, boom out of the Blue comes Mz. Mouth. I have her name and would really like to see her gone. I will be going to LabCore from now on. My experience with them has always been stellar. I've lived in Marin C'S fifty yrs and have had occasion to come b 4... always a 2 hr wait ( unless U have appt which I did), but a nightmare experience. Again, the young lady who did my draw was gentle AND painless!!! The day started poorly because the website wouldn't accept an appointment after inputting my wife's data 4 times so we decided to walk in since her surgery is in 5 days. The office is very dark and dingy and is staffed by a single young woman who was trying to do everything herself, with a waiting room full of patients. We filled out the request at the online terminal and was given an appointment an hour later for a blood draw. we returned a hour later and waited for 90 minutes while those with earlier appointments cycled through. Finally I asked the young woman for help and she said she could only service us if an earlier patient cancelled, even though we had been given a time. I asked her if I could be sitting here all day if no one cancelled and she answered "Yes". We called UCSF for help and they sent us to Marin Health and we were done in 15 minutes. I can't imagine why UCSF would send anyone to Quest. I've run my own business for 40 years and I'm sure Quest makes good money, in spite of themselves. A proper level of competition would put them out of business quickly. read more

Laughable would be generous. I thought I was getting punk'd or in the worst Black Mirror episode. Quest's website states that one can get a blood draw at Carbon Health. Nope, Carbon Health was friendly but they were wondering why Quest had not updated their website. -No receptionist. An awful marketing video on loop, in addition to pumped-in music of a different variety. -The person who did the blood draw called me in. Then said, "No wrong person. Wait outside." Then within 5 minutes, she called me back to say "You're the right person." -2 attempts for a blood draw. I asked 2x if she needed another sample. I then showed her the request on my printed lab form I brought that she needs another sample to which she replied, "Oh good thing you (me) caught that." She got blood on my paper and on the plastic unit where one signs. -I asked if she would remove the blood from the signature block. She said, "Oh, I didn't see it." The lack of thoroughness and professionalism was appalling. Quest, as a publicly traded company you should do better. read more

An old man who was a patient in the lab just told me " I think you're wonderful".... I helped him check in and gave him my stand by spot because he was flustered and fighting with the people working in the lab. He had another appointment to get to and was really stressed. He didn't have a wife or child to help him and he was having trouble with the computer and understanding the standby process. He also didn't have a mask and they would not give him one. They said they didn't have any. It was heartbreaking. When I gave up my spot, the woman working there told me I might not be able to get in, but of course I did about five minutes later. Miraculously they also found a mask for him. He had earlier called them liars and he wasn't wrong. I'm still steaming from the way that they treated him as well as the man that went in after me. It's impossible to get an appointment online and the only way you can get in is through walk in and they are rudely discouraging everybody who walks in, and refusing to help them navigate the system. Not nice to treat older people and people who are sick that way. read more

I went into this facility and the blood work order was sent by my physician. She scanned my insurance card to tell me that my insurance did not cover routine bloodwork. I needed to pay out of pocket. Immediately I called my insurance rep and they had to provide codes so she billed the insurance correctly. She later admitted to me she lived in Lafayette and they do the paperwork differently. Further my husband had an appointment right after and she said he wasn't covered. Really got th feeling here they were forcing payment up front for whatever reason I really felt the person was incompetent honestly read more

completely broken location. dystopian. ~10 angry patients at 7:05 AM, five minutes after they opened. 1 tech who couldn't have cared less. there was an old lady who was crying as a result of the broken kiosk system. they schedule you eight hours or so after you do your walk in and expect you to stay there. I tried to get on the app to make an appointment, and it said I already had an account. When I tried to change the password, it said I couldn't and had to call up technical support. There is no easy way to get technical support on their phone queue . I will be lucky if I can get my pre-op diagnostics done at all. Avoid quest and avoid thid location. read more

I had a very negative experience at this office. It seems the rules constantly change on what criteria are for actually being able to be seen on a standby basis. For someone who is working or has two working parents trying to get a test for their kid who has to go to school, this is practically impossible. I understand that scheduling appointments as possible, but those appointments are very far out, and that is simply untenable. On top of that the attitude that of the service personnel there was not very reassuring, and did not make me feel like I was being taken seriously. I would not recommend going here. read more

I hate monopolies. Especially when the monopoly owner has so little consideration for patient needs. I needed some basic blood tests and tried to make an on-line appointment. The facility that I normally go to has been closed, but the Quest website only shows that no appointments are available, not that it has been shuttered. So, going to the location for a hopeful walk-in was the only way I knew that it was shut. I then found an appointment at a location 45 minutes to an hour away. I made the appointment and then tried to call to confirm that the doctor's order was in fact received. The Quest phone system is intentionally set up so that you cannot get through to anyone, especially the location of the lab. I drove the 50 minutes only to discover that they had no record of the order. It was a Saturday, so there was no way to get hold of the doctor, and I had to return home "empty handed". Shame on Quest for not spending the little money it takes to enable patients to actually get hold of a real person, but rather making their convoluted message system give you the run-around only to say "The (some extension) is not available. Good bye." and just hanging up on you. I wish I had an alternative choice in Marin Co. read more

This Quest lab on Bon Air Rd is the only lab I will use. It is exceptional. I have 2 young children, both had their first blood draws there. Perfect, painless experiences for both kids. My first child had blood taken for the first time at 4 years old. My second child had their first blood taken at 2, just before turning 3. They make them comfortable, they are quick, give them stickers, they really know what they are doing. I can't recommend this location highly enough. My older son, now 5 years old, had to be hospitalized earlier this year but he was not afraid of getting an IV or a blood draw because of his positive experience at this Quest Lab. I am also a very difficult person for a blood draw, I have tony veins and lots of scar tissue. The average phlebotomist takes at least 2 trys for me. They always seem to nail it on the first round no matter who is doing the blood draw. read more

Quest is the worst most incompetent service when you call on the phone it takes you round and round can never get anyone, after listening to their auto messages over and over, they tell you to press 7 for customer service , when you do it says "This is not a valid extension", I tried 4 times. The worst ever. I think I will just throw the lab work away and skip the whole thing. Same for my husband. If their phone tree is this bad I'd hate to think what the lab blood draw is like. There is absolutely no reason to try dropping into this location for a lab test. In fact that rule probably applies to nearly all Quest locations. Quest simply does not staff for any drop in patients. I was number 12 on the drop in list and sat in the waiting room for about an hour by 12 noon. Finally I went into one of the draw stations and asked. They point blank told me that I would not be helped that day. So they were happy to let me sit there for five hours for nothing. This forces the staff drawing blood to continually come out of their cubicle WITH their gloves on and help patients with the kiosk! This is not sanitary or good customer service! First time I visited was fine, as I had an appointment. This time I needed to drop off a specimen in a containerr this lab had provided.today. There was no tech today to help me to do this simple task (drop off) , nor anyone at reception area- so unable to complete doctor's instructions to drop off the specimen... this act does not require an appointment, and I was told by computer that I was 103 on the "walk in " wait list-- in order to get someone's attention. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Needed an urgent blood test, all appointments were booked for weeks in advance so I had to be a stand-by. One person was working at 11 am, two others were just floating around. In an hour, only 2 appointments and no stand-by patients were processed. My 6 year old needed to get blood work and I was really impressed with their level of service. Her phlebotomist was Susan N and she took care of us from inputting the order slip and then taking my daughter to a separate room for the draw. For pediatric clients, they can lay on a bed or sit in a chair. Another staff member also helped during the blood draw. Susan inserted the needle with no issues and it was done within a minute. She was really gentle with my daughter and I really appreciated it. My daughter was so scared but it went as seamless as possible. Highly recommend this location for pediatric blood draws! read more

Then, when you schedule as a walk-in there is also the chance you don't appear in their system. And they refuse recognize and adapt to system problems.
