This place is delicious ! The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get ! The green sauce is addicting ! Waitstaff is awesome and the owners are super friendly ! Love love this place ! read more

This place is awesome but since it's closed right now I actually just want to talk about the cushy cozy comfortable seats on the patio next to this gorgeous tree. Sidewalk patios usually have me looking at cars or streets but this is like a courtyard with squirrels and room for children to stretch their legs. read more

Inkas Irvine - Paradise hidden in office buildings - Peruvian Near Me - Irvine, California

I was dying for some good ceviche in Irvine and found Inka's Restaurant on Yelp. And boy was I glad to have found this place. The first time I went here I ordered the ceviche and arroz con mariscos. The ceviche was excellent with just enough sourness to it. Arroz con mariscos was also a great dish. They were a little stingy on the seafood, but the flavor makes up for it. When the say "a mussel" they really mean just one mussel. Just because I couldn't wait to have more ceviche I came back the next day with my boyfriend. Once again I got my ceviche and this time we ordered Tallarín a la Mar, a spaghetti like dish with fish. The tomato sauce was a bit lacking in flavor, but the fish was perfectly cooked. They give you some bread before you meal comes. I advise to hold out on the bread and use it to soak up the juices from the ceviche. Overall, I love this place. Since they are located in a business area, it isn't too busy during late afternoon and dinner time. The service was excellent and they even recognized me after my third time there =) read more

We went on a Wednesday night when it was completely empty. The empanadas are fantastic. The Peruvian paella was very good, and the fish dishes were fantastic. For Peruvian food in the OC, it doesn't get better. read more

Just like the one in san clemente Had the epinadas, delicious as always, especially with the sauce is comes with. Green hot sauce is a must with everything. Slightly breaded flank steak, awesome. Finished with fried plantains. Pleased to find this closer to north oc. Almost same menu as restaurant down south read more

Inka's is still a go-to spot for its ambiance, helpful service and good food. The only challenge is parking. It seems parking issues goes hand in hand with good food joints. Inka's shares a parking lot with a a coffee & tea shop and a couple of tech companies. As such, lunch during the week can be very busy. For those in a rush, order to-go and make use of the short-term parking spots in front of the store. On this visit, I wanted seafood. Based on my menu favorites (Escabeche; Lomo Saltado; Saltado Vegetales) our server suggested the Fish Chorrillana; the fish version of their Escabeche. Rather than the boneless chicken, it came with a boneless filet of fish. It was very good. I will definitely order it again. read more

Don't waste your money! Very overpriced for the quality of food you get. Seems the owner is only concerned with PROFIT and not QUALITY. In addition food completely lacks flavor. Very disappointing. Years ago it was good but not anymore! DO NOT RECOMMEND, plenty of better options for Peruvian cuisine. read more

This place is great because it's within walking distance from my office. Also, it has a HUGE menu and pretty much everything on it is great. So far I've had their lomo saltado, a yellow curry chicken dish, minestrone soup (that's green!), fried rice, plantains, and their shortbread/dulce de leche cookies. They also have a very sweet wait staff who remember you and try their best to remember what you like and offer suggestions. The staff are primarily family members, and their grandmother is the chef, and on the days that she's in the kitchen they have some really interesting specials. My favorite by far is the green minestrone soup. I think the only thing that makes it a minestrone is the fact that it has beans in it. Other than that it's like no soup I've ever had. Again, its broth is St. Patrick's Day green which throws a lot of people off. The flavor isn't overly strong or spicy, so I can't really tell you why it's green, but it is a very tasty broth. It's loaded with veggies like broccoli and green beans and white beans, and you're given a choice of meat - chicken or beef - to add into it. So far I've only tried the chicken, and it's delicious. They also give you the option to add noodles to the soup, but I haven't done that yet. Seems like it would make it too heavy, and the soup's hearty enough as it is. The only thing holding me back from giving this place 5 stars is it's location - it's in a business center. I know it's open on weekends, but it's definitely not a place I'd think to go to after hours because it's tucked away in a nondescript building in Irvine. Makes for a great hole-in-the-wall lunch place, though! read more

Best Peruvian Food in the OC! I always find myself asking... well myself... "How come there aren't any Peruvian places to eat in the OC?". I've tried Inka Grill in Costa Mesa -- food is ok there, but nothing special. Yelped this place and thought I'd give it a test. Have to say it doesn't disappoint. You enter -- greeted by the same two ladies you see on the web site - I think one is the mother and they other, obviously is the daughter.. They are super nice and once seated they are more than happy to go over any questions you have on the menu. Be forewarned however, if you ask them "Is (fill in ANY item on the menu) good?" and their response is an overly enthusiastic "Oh, it's like the best anywhere". -- Empanadas... three flaky crust stuffed bites of goodness, 2 filled with steak, one with chicken. Not the "best thing ever".. but ok. A little too much pastry taste, and not enough inner-goodness if you ask me. Also needed some more kick/flavor. #47 Picantes.... fish & shrimp combined with potatoes in a spicy chili and garlic sauce with a decent portion of rice. Overall, enough food to keep a normal person happy. A nice change of flavors from your typical Mexican style restaurant. #34 Picantes de Pollo... ok ok.. made the unfortunate decision of ordering basically the same thing as the little lady. This is what I get for not asking her what she was ordering before hand. Anyway -- same flavors as above, except with chicken. Next time we are ordering something different. So this isn't a full review yet.. we need more samples.. For desert... Lucuma and Plantains"the best desert ever" --??? have to say it was actually really really good. And totally different than any ice cream flavor I've ever had before. Imaging a fried banana with caramel and ice cream.. I mean.. you can't go wrong here. Prices range from $8 - $14 a plate for entree items.. seating is lunch casual (not a romantic dinner spot), service was good. While food wasn't the "best thing ever".. it was definitely different than your everyday dinner experience. 3.3333 stars for good flavor, good service, decent prices, and a unique experience in an ever dull Irvine setting. We'll be back. read more

I was in town for work. Super long day. Even longer night. I was probably the last customer and it was a quick to go order. I don't know which item I ordered but it was pretty delicious. Looked like a snazzy place to dine in and hang out. The hostess/cashier was polite. So that didn't bite too much. Didn't really strike me as a "OMFG, this place is amazing and i must bring my loved ones here..." So 3 ouf of 5 stars for some decent late night cravings. If I am in the area... I wouldn't mind hoping in! read more

Best Peruvian food in OC. there are other INKA'S in the area but none are this place- this spot has the best service (love the girls and their mom) and these flavor profiles. the food is delicious high quality and awesome portions. My mouth waters when I think of having the fish or the green sauce or the tender chicken dishes. read more

I've only been here once so far but it was excellent! Best vegetarian Peruvian food I've ever had (which is very hard to come by). I came here on a Friday at lunch time and it was pretty busy but we only waited five minutes and sat outside. I got the Saltado vegetables with green rice, soo good. Highly recommend getting the green rice with any meal. And the bread they serve to the table is not stale or cold like I've seen at other Peruvian places. The service was excellent, our waitress was very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back here, next time I'll use the Yelp check-in dessert deal to try out the lucuma! The only problem is the hours! They are not open enough :( There have been several occasions on weekends when I want to eat here and they are closed! They are only open for 4 hours during the whole weekend - Saturday from 5-9 I think. Closed on Sundays. Boo :( read more

Just discovered this lovely Peruvian restaurant today. The place is small with an adjacent patio, but tastefully decorated with Peruvian art and had a modern upscale restaurant vibe. The food was excellent, and the service friendly and welcoming. We ordered the empanada trio (beef, chicken, spinach/mozzarella) for appetizer (yummy although a little pricey at $9+). The Peruvian paella was delicious, and they graciously accommodated our request to exclude the calamari. Their paella definitely beat the paella from a fancy Irvine Spanish restaurant which was overpriced and greasy. The Peruvian beef stew was flavorful too. Next time I'll order it spicier (medium) rather than "mild." The menu was varied, and we look forward to trying their other dishes. I feel bad for them that their location is a bit "out of the way." I bet they would do even more business if they were located in a more central business area. As it is, they're in a small "campus of offices" area at the corner of Laguna Canyon Road and Alton Parkway in Irvine. I hope they get a lot of business from nearby Brandman University, Kaiser Medical, and others. We're already planning our next visit, when we take our daughter there. By the way, Yasai Japanese Restaurant is two doors down. We like the Placentia location and were about to try this location when we saw Inka's. Will go to Yasai next time and do a review on them then. Hope this was helpful read more

Everything about this place was great! Food was delicious service was absolutely great, will most certainly be back!

The food is great! We got inka kola, chicken with the green pasta and picante beef. Also got a box of cookies to go. Box of 6 3-bite-cookies was $7.50. I understand that Peruvian food is a little on the expensive side (more than $10 for lunch) but I was a little upset that they didn't tell me green rice was $1.50 more. Lunch for 2 ended up being around $45. I feel that if there is an up charge for certain items, we should be informed. I was simply asked white or green rice so I said green, I did not know it was extra. But other than that it was good. Can't complain! read more

Flavorful, super nice interaction, very responsive. Happy to give a little more during tough restaurant times ... but portion was pretty small for the price of a rice dish. read more

This place is very good. I have tried Peruvian paella and Chorrillana and both of them were delicious. Perhaps the best Peruvian food in Orange county. read more

I work right by this place, so I go there fairly often. I have to admit, I've only ever gotten one dish- the vegetarian tallarin verde- but it's so good I just crave it too much to try anything else. Plus, like some other people have said, the green sauce they have at the tables is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Only if you like spicy stuff, though. Oh, and I've always had super friendly service there. read more

While they do have some tasty food it's simply too expensive for what you get, and the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. This restaurant seems to be run with a mentality of maximizing profits with an overpriced menu, low quality ingredients and (seemingly) cheap or inexperienced wait staff. You get the feeling there's a lack of soul or passion for running what could be an excellent restaurant. read more

I have been going to this place for years since my engineer hubby found it because broadcom used to be across the street from inkas back in the day. It is family owned and run and I always leave full and happy. The owners greet you with a smile and the waitresses are super nice. Every dish that I've tasted is great. My fav. is peascado a la chorillana...mmhhmm. the green hot sauce is always good and spicy. Don't forget to order some delicious alfajores for dessert. This place gets very busy for lunch so get there early or late. Its so nice to have diversity in irvine. I hope this place never closes! read more

Friend/co-worker brought me here. We had fried squid for appetizers. Was pretty bomb! then I had the loma saltado. it was tasty. it had a great combination of diced beef, onions, fries and rice. nothing spectacular though. The setting was relatively authentic and gave you somewhat of a Southern American feel. service was good, fast, and the waiters/waitresses friendly read more

Great Peruvian food; we always get the Empanadas, Ceviche and Lomo Soltado. Having lived in Miami, we were spolied for great Peruvian food, but this is up there !! The only issue is it's in a strip mall in the middle of an office district, so not open on the weekends. read more

I love this place! The food is always delicious and the staff is super friendly. They give nice big portions and the food always feels filling but still healthy. It's a great place to go with family for big meals, or to just grab a quick bite. The patio outside is super cute and such a nice place to have lunch. Everyone should try this place! I would definitely recommend the Lomo Saltado with green rice; also make sure you get some of their famous green sauce!! read more

The appetizers are extremely small portioned and lacked flavor. I myself am Peruvian and this is pretty much not it. The Chica was poor in taste and mostly watered down, it was even missing lime in it as well. The menu was extremely limited and consisted of just changing the meat/vegetables. I do not recommend this place as it's poor and even doesn't have enough ingredients. We tried to order the lucuma but they literally brought out the tub of ice cream to show us that they are completely out. Infact, I quite don't understand how hard it is to get these things done. This is a poor representation of Peruvian food and this will definitely not get my support. read more

Nice waitress but food was not to my liking. If you have good aji sauce to start, I can eat anything for dinner as long as I can get aji all over it. But there's was not very good. Didn't have much flavor to it :(. I ordered a beef dish, which also lacked flavor. But their empanadas were sooo good. I wanted to love this place but their aji is no good and since it's really empty during dinner time that translated into less staff and longer wait time. But willing to give it another try at later time. read more

The food is delicious and the service great! How did I not know about this place? Our colleague made a reservation for our party of nine at 11:30am. When we got there, there was nobody but when we left an hour later it was packed and there were people waiting in the 90 degree weather! So many good options to choose from but I went with the seafood Saltado. It was excellent. Good amount of seafood and the cilantro rice was great. The service was also really good and you can tell the staff is genuinely nice. I shall be back! read more

The food was great, we've been there a lot of times in the past several months, and me and my co-workers loved it! It's close-by and the food was awesome! But a couple of the waitresses weren't very helpful and friendly, they do not treat you as a valued customer, the way they deliver the food and the check is like they are giving away to charity reluctantly even though we as the customer pays! They also need to hire more waiters and waitresses because they constantly keep you waiting to pay or wait for food. I think I'd rather drive further to eat at Inka Mama's in Lake Forest instead of here. read more

The food is amazing. I've been to South America many times in my life and this brings back the memories of my childhood. When you go, get the cookies...called "Alfajores" for desert, they're ridiculous. Everything is good here, i've tried various things Escabeche/Tallarin Verde Pollo are my favorites (if you like spicy add a lot of the green sauce /yum). The waitresses are really nice too, I'm sure the cooks are too for cooking such win. ~Lorenz read more

Peruvian food isn't easy to find, and this Inka's is great :) I'm obsessed with the aji de galina, and I love that this is a family-run restaurant. The food is a smidge slow, but it's not bad--especially for Peruvian food. Oh! And lucuma is hard to find, so to find an excellent lucuma sorbet is always so fantastic. read more

I have been there three times for lunch. The last two times I ordered the pescado chorillana and the filete de pescado frito. Both were good but I preferred the pescado chorillana. This restaurant offers a unique and authentic Peruvian cuisine. They import a particular type of pepper, the aji pepper, which is responsible for the spiciness in the dishes. At each table is also a bottle of aji based sauce in case you want to kick up a dish. I'm a real fan of their tallarin Verde, pasta with a creamy spinach basil sauce. On top, you can get your choice of a thinly filleted chicken breast or steak. A long time fixture in the area and family owned, lunch here is always a treat. read more

This establishment was recommended to me by a colleague. It's located in a quiet business area, ample parking, and very pretty, romantic, and laid back...Can dine in or outside... we were a party of 7 so we had about four different types of dinners and they were nothing short of outstanding! Beef, chicken, beans, bread, etc. were world class. The Peruvian "chicken fried rice" was from a different planet!!! Flan and lucuma ice cream were delicious.. atmosphere and servers were friendly and warm.. very homey place... highly recommend... read more

Really good food! We couldn't use the patio because of the covid but the big patio looked really inviting.

We ordered here for the first time through Grubhub. They didn't have our order, but we were charged for it. My husband had to wait over a half an hour from the time we were notified of when the order would be ready by. They did nothing for our inconvenience when we have three kids waiting for now a late dinner. The service here and Grubhub is terrible. Really upsetting! read more
