I chose Ink Bomb Tattoos for my first tattoo after researching several highly rated shops and being impressed by their portfolio -- but my experience was the complete opposite of what I expected. I paid a $60 booking fee a week in advance, and was told it covered the artist's drawing time and the appointment slot. Yet when I arrived early for my 3:00 PM appointment, nothing was prepared. After about 20 minutes, the artist showed me a design that wasn't even close to what I had provided, so he had to start over while I waited even longer. After an hour of waiting -- including watching the artist step outside for a smoke break -- I left without getting tattooed. I then learned the booking fee was nonrefundable, despite the fact that the delay and lack of preparation were entirely on their end. If the fee is supposed to cover the design work, the design should be ready before the client arrives -- not started after check-in. What should have been an exciting first tattoo experience was instead frustrating and disappointing. I reached out to the owner, hoping for understanding. Instead, I received no apology, no responsibility -- just the implication that I was being unreasonable for expecting my time to be respected. Extremely disappointed. I won't be returning, and I hope others know what they're signing up for before booking here. read more

My friends and I stopped in here while we were in town for a bachelor party and all of us came out happy and impressed. I requested a tattoo of Jack and Sally's faces and Alec came back with this gorgeous tattoo. I can't personally speak for everyone but Alec here does great work. He kept everything calm and relaxing, did great work, and kept up nice conversation while he worked. I would recommend anyone stop here for their next tattoo, especially if they can get in with Alec. I've been kicking around getting another tattoo that meant a lot to me during my addiction recovery back in the day. A week ago I woke up and decided it was time and came back to Ink Bomb. I didn't have an appointment, but as luck would have it, they had an open slot and I took it. My artist was also the owner, Tabitha who did an amazing job! It was great reminiscing about the early alternative bands we saw live from back in the late 80's and early 90's! The shop is amazing and clean, everyone I've met there on staff get 5 stars. Shop was very welcoming. Décor is very entertaining, everything was clean, and screams professionalism. Didn't feel any of the old school artist toxicity vibe that is so prevalent. Set up with open bay style sections for each artist so its nice to hear the buzz of other projects while you are captive on the chair. Chose the artist Abby for my piece after seeing her previous work. She took my ideas and examples and created a piece for me that fit perfectly where I wanted it. I am so happy with my new tattoo from Manny! I did a lot of research and they're obviously very popular based on all of the positive reviews. Their website made it easy to see each artists' work and specialties(with explanations for those like myself who isn't familiar with all the styles). I went in on a Saturday and it was pretty busy but I was helped right away and got to talk with Manny. I came in with pretty vague ideas and a ton of pics with various aspects I liked. He was able to give an approx estimate and I got scheduled 2 weeks later. He sent me a draft of the design beforehand so I could weigh in and had a minor change I wanted to see. When I arrived the actual sketches(he had multiple versions) were beautiful and I felt 100% confident and happy with the design. This is my 3rd time going to Ink Bomb and having Christina be my tattoo artist. The first time I went was to get a humming bird added to some flowers I already had. Christina asked if I wanted to retouch my flowers and I didn't at that time. After seeing how vibrant the humming bird was I contacted Christina to get my flowers retouched. She did such an amazing job. The flowers looked like a completely different tattoo (in a good way). I knew I would be going back to Christina when I was ready for a memorial tattoo. My husband got tattooed here in January. In September we lost our unborn at 21.5 weeks in utero. We were given hand and footprints and my husband wanted to get his footprints tattooed on him. He researched a lot of places and really liked Scotts work so he booked an appt with him for November. When it came time for his scheduled appt, Scott texted my husband just few days before and said he needed to reschedule my husband because he had accidentally double booked (we get it these things happen - no problem!). Scott was nice and said he would go in on a day off on tattoo my husband. They moved the appt to a week and a half out on a Saturday morning. Keep in mind my husband and I live about 50 mins away in north Phoenix. Saturday comes, my husband drives to Mesa... well, no Scott.... My husband texted him.... Scott ended up replying that he cannot tattoo my husband because he had an emergency with one of his children being in the ER all night and was up all night. (I get it. This is out of his control - what is not out of his control is texting my husband the night prior to let him know of even the morning of). My husband then drove back home and Scott said he would be in touch with a new date. Against my advice to look for a different tattoo artist, my husband stuck with Scott and booked for a January appt. My husband only got partially what he wanted (he had wanted the footprints of our baby with Angel wings and then our anniversary date). Scott said he only had time for the footprints and Angel wings. The tattoo came out awful. When my husband got home, I didn't have the heart to tell him, but after a few days he quickly realized it was not good. You could barely make out the details... the worst part was what happened a week later.... The toes of our babies feet completely shed off!!! Needless to say, my husband has to get it redone by a different artist (one who specializes in touch up work). My husband has several tattoos so we understand how they need time to heal and that things happen, however, Scott was extremely inconsiderate of our time and money and the sentiment behind this piece. He told my husband it would lighten up but never said the feet would completed shed and not last. My husband didn't feel like calling or asking for a refund or to get it fixed because 1. We made the choice and chose to go with Scott despite his unprofessionalism with the scheduling/booking and 2. Why would we go back to the same person who messed it up? I spent 10/14/2020 with my aunt in celebration of my passed cousins bday. When we initial walked in we spoke with Abby who had Zach come and talk to us. He was able to take my aunt that day. For what I wanted we needed to book a couple weeks out. When i came back my appointment was with Scott. He was so genuine, down to earth, and professional. I called and Abigail at the front desk answered with the best customer service and consideration that I have ever heard of at a tattoo shop. I sent an email as requested with my design idea and in not even 10 minutes, tattoo artist Zack had completely taken my rough idea to pure perfection. I am more than pleased with his work. I scheduled a week out so I could get this matching tattoo with my boyfriend on a Saturday from the same artist Zack On the day of the appointment, we arrived about 10 minutes early to fill out some paperwork and confirm our sketch with Zack. My boyfriend went first while I waited to be next. They showed us where water and the bathroom were from the start which I thought was really cool and added to their consideration. Literally every single person in the shop was respectful, friendly, kind and especially talented. I've been coming to Ink Bomb for several years! All the artists at this shop are crazy talented. Everything they put out is strong work and their unique styles can really be showcased just in the shop decor! Brycen does amazing work- I definitely recommend him to all my friends. Since the shop relocated, the space is vast. Everyone observes Covid-19 guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing. Often times, there is not more than 8-10 people inside at one time. I appreciate how serious they take cleanliness, it really makes a difference and reassures me when I visit. There's always good vibes from everyone who works here and those who come by to get worked on as well. Every vision/idea I've had for a tattoo has been completely achieved and blown out of the water as far as what I expected the end product to look like. Why isn't there a 10 star option?! Decided to go here after getting a quote from another shop for the tattoo that I wanted to get. Went to the shop with my wife, who was interested in getting a tattoo also. I was quoted a price of $120 while the other shop said it wouldn't be over $300. Decided to set up an appointment to go ahead and get the tattoo done. Zach did my tattoo at my appointment and was very professional about making sure of how I wanted the tattoo placed and the colors that I wanted and if I wanted it to have a black outline or not. Once we got that out of the way and Zach started the process of tattooing me, he made some small talk and was great about his work. After he finished the tattoo, he went over the care of the tattoo. This was my 5th tattoo so far and I have another appointment next week to do one of the "get what you get" tattoos with Zach doing that tattoo. read more

I got a 'Get What You Get' tattoo on my bicep by Tabatha in the fall of 2022. I like my tattoo, but during the experience, her needle slipped and hit my forearm when she was wiping my GWYG. She did say she was sorry and moved on with finishing my tattoo, but I noticed when I left that it was not only red from the needle, but it did have ink. I took a picture of it when I got home, a picture a week later, and a picture today. I'm not thrilled that I have a permanent squiggle on my forearm. I've been hesitant to post this and I didn't want to tell her I was upset because I don't feel comfortable with her covering it up and it would be weird to be the person getting a cover up with another artist that was because of her at the same shop. Getting tattooed at Ink Bomb was a phenomenal experience. Brycen was the one who finished my all black traditional sleeve and I couldn't be happier. He's got a light hand, took my ideas and made them better, was always fun to work with, and he never overcharged me like a lot of people will try to do. He's everything you want in a tattoo artist. You can tell that he's passionate in what he does and he truly cares about what is being put on your body. As for the rest of the crew at InkBomb, they're a bunch of stand up individuals as well. From start to finish the crew from Ink Bomb has delivered on great service. The place is clean, vibrant, and has a fun vibe. Zack Aker has made my tattoo that I have been waiting on getting for over 10 years, worth the wait! He treated me with kindness and understanding of 2 special tattoos I wanted to get done. The first was a mother/son symbol of a Dragon and Rabbit that I been waiting on the right artist to complete. Zack made it even better than I thought possible. His attention to detail was impeccable. Things I didn't even consider before talking to him, made my tattoo mean even more to me. It's not only meaningful he made it uniquely beautiful without compromising his artistic interpretation of what I was going for. The second tattoo he did in the same sitting, was of my dog who we just recently lost in an accident. Zack sat and listened to my stories of Bingo and empathized for my situation. I got a tattoo from Scott ledbetter and had an awful experience. I have over 20 tattoos and this was by far my worst experience. I was getting a half sleeve which should have been a full day if not more. I had been scheduled for 11am around 4 months and then the night before he texts me and reschedules to 1pm causing me to lose out on 2 hours. I get there and he had forgotten to add a couple elements I had asked for so he said he could just draw them in once we start. It was obvious he was rushing the tattoo yet still managed to take around 6-8 smoke breaks. He started just using flat gray shading to cover the majority of my arm because he was rushing to finish. The tattoo was nothing like I asked for and the experience was no good. Around a month later, once it healed, I told Scott I was unhappy with the tattoo and would like to make some changes. I tried contacting him a few times with no response so I told the manager about my experience. The manager did not care at all and said I obviously liked the work I got from Scott because I tipped well. I work in the service industry and always tip no matter what. I tipped Scott exactly 18% which is lower than I normally would, but still a good tip. The fact that the manager treated me that way and essentially punished me for tipping well is ridiculous.. so if I tipped poorly you'd believe me? Makes no sense. Overall awful experience with no accountability from Scott or the shop itself. Plenty of other good tattoo shops, no need to come here! Response to owner: Tried working with me over and over? I repeatedly reached out and tried to schedule and never got a response. I was never "very happy with the tattoo at first" and don't know why you would say that. You were not there and have no idea how I felt about the tattoo. Again, I tipped because I'm a good client not because he did a good job. Now you are making false statements that I was initially happy with the tattoo when I've literally never met you. His portfolio is good, but he doesn't put all his tattoos up. The tattoo he did on me he did not post because he rushed it and it's not well done. I never said he's not capable of being a quality artist.. just he is capable of being a bad artist. Finally, I was bullying? You are just trying to place all the blame on your client and none on your artist. All I expressed to him was I am unhappy with the tattoo. There was no name calling or rude behavior. The only bullying was from you, the owner, making false claims about what went down. I didn't threaten to post bad reviews.. I told you I am going to post a bad review because of the way I was treated by you and your artist, which now I have. read more

He combines new school and uses an iPad and app that allows him to get the placement prefect in no time and it really helps you visualize what it's going to look like. Then he uses a little old school thing called, asking you what you want and helping you work that into reality. It's obvious from the minute you talk to him is that he really cares about tattooing and giving you the best tattoo possible. He's a tattoo nerd. I mean that in the best possible way.
