You made a highly emotional business decision because you felt "disrespected" when, in reality, I was holding you accountable for multiple service failures -- delays, miscommunication, and incorrect orders -- all while remaining composed and direct in tone. You continually confused accountability with confrontation and took offense to reasonable, industry-standard requests like being looped into vendor communication after repeated mistakes. I didn't "demand wholesale access" -- I asked to be informed, after you failed twice to deliver what I ordered. The vendor themselves asked me to follow up via email, and I shared that with you transparently. You refused, not to protect policy or privacy, but because your ego couldn't tolerate client involvement. What's truly unacceptable is that you fired me -- and my brother, who had a walk-in piercing done the same week -- while we both had healing piercings and no continuity of care. That's not professional; it's reckless. In this industry, you don't just take someone's money and then walk away when accountability gets uncomfortable. Your studio may be fine for walk-ins and simple jewelry swaps, but for curated, high-value clients who expect collaboration, clarity, and true professionalism -- Emily at Red Art is not it. ----- I had a deeply disappointing experience with Emily, the co-owner of Red Art Tattoo & Piercing. While I came in excited to work with someone on high-end custom jewelry and ear curation, I was met with defensiveness, ego, and an unwillingness to take full accountability as an owner when tough issues arose. Be careful and be sure to read all the fine print - Emily will rely on strict, inflexible shop policies when things go wrong, and refuses to meet clients at a human level. Piercers make commission on custom jewelry orders -- and when my $1K+ custom jewelry order arrived incorrectly for the 2nd time -- after shipping delays and multiple sizing issues that resulted from poor piercer-to-vendor communication (because Emily does not have an official order form for custom jewelry orders -- and if she does now, it's because I gave her the good business sense to make one) -- I decided to reach out directly to the vendor on Instagram to flag the problems. The vendor themselves asked me to follow up with them via email. I immediately shared that exchange with Emily and had previously asked Emily multiple times to simply loop me into her email thread with the vendor so I could stay informed and help resolve the issues we kept having. Instead, Emily refused, insisting on total control of the situation. That refusal wasn't based on process -- it was personal. I even asked her to loop me into a new email thread with the vendor where there was no pricing or commission details. I know from Reddit that top-notch, experienced piercers will loop in clients with the vendor proactively for placing custom orders to ensure the jewelry gets made correctly (my pieces were made incorrectly not just once, but twice) -- so what I was asking from Emily is well within the normal scope -- even for the piercing industry. But Emily took offense at my involvement, prioritized protecting her "authority" over actually solving the problem, and ultimately chose to end the client relationship with me entirely when I continued to push for basic communication and accountability as an owner. I never once even raised my voice at her, I never used profanity or insults or any degrading language -- I simply held her accountable as an owner and she retaliated against me. Rather than offering real customer care, Emily wanted to label me as a "difficult" client and was more focused on maintaining control and "winning" than delivering the level of professionalism you'd expect from someone in an owner role. If you're looking for someone to collaborate with on custom, high-level jewelry and ear curation -- someone who knows how to cultivate a longterm business partnership -- this is not the studio for you. In an industry making permanent marks while taking hundreds or thousands of dollars from clients, there is no room for piercers like Emily -- the co owner of Red Art.

After reading through the website (which is beautifully curated), I scheduled an appointment to get my mid-helix piercing. Maria was my piercer and she is so personable and professional. She did a wonderful job with my piercing and when I returned for a follow up to possibly size down, she was quick and very kind. I have also met Emily who is super nice and professional as well. The studio is very clean and organized and has a very homey/welcoming feel to it. I highly recommend this studio!

I had the most amazing experience with Maria. I did a walk in after calling to confirm they take them during certain hours of the day. I was quickly greeted by an employee who had me take a seat while Maria finished up with another client. She was extremely detailed, knowledgeable, and patient as well as friendly. She helped me find a good spot for my double eyebrow piercings and took the time to inspect and feel my eyebrows to ensure proper placement. I took Maria's advice and had them done closer to my arch, even though I originally wanted them right in the center of my brows. She took the time to explain why this placement was a better choice and gave me details on what to expect before continuing, such as the size of the jewelry and healing process. I also called about a week later to ask for some advice because one of my brows was very inflamed and the owner, Emily, was so kind and informative on how to reduce the swelling. After just one day of following her instructions, my healing was back on track and the swelling went down immensely. I'm now 4 weeks into having my piercings and they look fantastic. Don't skip out on this place because of the pricing, remember that quality matters when it comes to tats and piercings and price is secondary. Excellent customer service, friendly and professional employees, clean and atmospheric. Thank you so much Maria and Emily!

I got my 2nd earlobe hole pierced here and it was such a smooth process. I booked online and once I had to reschedule and once the owner, Emily, needed to bump back the appointment (life happens!) But when we went in she spent time explaining the process and the aftercare while we waited for my new earrings to be sterilized. I wasn't paying super close attention because I was nervous but in the end it didn't hurt at all. When I need to get smaller posts in a few weeks, she's got me covered; that much I remember! Emily found my prior 2nd hole and smoothly re-pierced through the hole that I thought was closed up. If I ever decide to go for a third I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

Emily was an amazing piercer! I had such a great experience with her! She was so sweet, walked me through everything, communicated well, and made sure I was comfortable the entire session. She has beautiful high quality jewelry to pick from and adheres to strict cleaning and sanitization processes. I had 4 lobe piercings done in the session, which I was nervous about doing all at once but she assured me she'd check in with me throughout the process to see how I was doing and she did. During the actual piercing, she guided me through a simple breathing exercise which helped calm me down and better prepared me for each piercing. The anticipation of pain was greater than the actual pain since she has a light touch and knows exactly the right angles and pressure to apply. It's only the day after my piercings and my ears don't hurt at all, and they're already healing so well! She was very knowledgeable about piercing practices and I just can't say enough good words about the experience and her professionalism and kindness. I spent several months searching for a tattoo studio to do a cover up tattoo for me. Several had poor quality or refused to do the work. If you are thinking about getting a tattoo, do your do diligence to find a qualified artist. I highly recommend Brandon! He worked with me to come up with a design that liked. Brandon is a very professional and talented artist! As I stated above, it took me several months to find an artist that does quality work. I love my flowers and Taurus constellation! I have had several compliments on my new tattoo and I will definitely be back for more work. This tattoo healed better than any other tattoo that I have received. The second skin was still firmly attached 7 days later (it was left on longer because of the size). When I removed it, there was hardly any scabbing or dryness. I love this studio! I have gotten a couple of tattoos done by Casey, their junior artist and am always happy with his work! He is very respectful, always makes sure if you need breaks or anything and if you're like me and would prefer less conversation while being tattooed he's your guy! He's also very light handed and quick, when he tattooed my foot it felt like a walk in the park. The studio itself is always clean and the rest of the employees have been nothing but nice as well! read more

I've been here twice with my daughter for her piercing and 1st tattoo. So why would I choose another place when I needed a price quote for a cover ups and a few piercings? Now I know this place has been a great experience for a lot of people. But I guess I'm the lucky one with miscommunication. Originally I booked a tattoo consultation, I showed up on time only for a text to come my way...pretty much stating "didn't know you were coming" oops we didnt block off persons schedule...in the middle of rescheduling conversation...the person I was talking to decided "hey im working a half day, let me stop responding. I had arranged for some piercings today and so my consultation was at noon, piercings at 12:30. Well wouldn't you know it...Brandon is another no show...apparently no communication on his end that my appointment was at noon.... I walked out...at this point I'm pretty livid and I have every right to be. Emilie calls to give some apology, throws Brandon under the bus, and tells me I'm going to be charged as a no show for piercing, because they are apparently contracted. She prides in being an owner and as I told her "then work it out with the piercing girl." As she replied "Well their time is valuable and now they can't book for my slot." As I told her "And my time is also valuable, lack of communication twice, my gas for showing up, your the owner, work it out." So yes my time here was not the greatest. Just on a side note, don't throw your main tattoo guy under the bus and say "I don't know whats going on with him, he's probably going through some things, but he should've been here." read more

I was having difficulty getting some of my nicer earrings into my current holes so I sought help from Emily at Red Art. I certainly am glad that I did!! very professional and personable. she found my current holes (which were 50 years old) were too low and angled. she measured and gave me perfectly placed new holes with beautiful earrings. I highly recommend this place. very clean, professional and kind! read more

Maria gave my first nose piercing and she was awesome! She was super sweet and went over the whole procedure with me and aftercare. She made me feel completely comfortable and checked in to how I was feeling throughout. The ambiance was super calm and she set me up for my next appointment. Overall, I would recommend her to anyone for their piercing needs. I can't speak to tattoos because I haven't gotten one there but Maria was great and will definitely go back to her again. read more

I originally met Emily and Brandon at the AZ Tattoo Expo and was impressed by their quality of work. I was interested in getting my conches (ears) pierced and she had beautiful high quality jewelry and a super chill vibe. Before piercing she made sure it was the perfect spot on my ear with the right piece of long-term jewelry. I actually learned a lot from her. I'm so glad I waited to get my piercing with her. My ear is healing so nice. read more

I have to say this was kind of an emotional experience for me. I had contacted Em to try to get a sitting to get my moms memorial tat while I was in town. Of course they were booked lol. Needless to say she put me put me on a cancellation list and lo and behold a couple weeks later I get a text! YES! I'll take it! Emily did my helix piercing and my daughter's septum. She did an amazing job with both of us, took lots of time explaining everything and cleaning all of the piercing materials. She even replaced her gloves several times to make sure everything was perfect. As a result, we have both had incredible results with absolutely no infection, pain, or problems at all. Healing has been the best with her techniques and explanation for aftercare - so much better than any other piercings I've had. We will definitely be back. read more

So I had an appt scheduled today 9/8/21 at 12. I've had this appt schedule for months, paid a deposit of $60 to reserve, took a day off of work and I live 2.5 hours away. I drove all the way to find out the tattoo shop was closed due to flooding. I would have like to be notified of what was going on, to either reschedule my appt or make other arrangements. Now I'm out a day of work and my deposit and didn't receive my tattoo because you couldn't inform me of what was going on. If you schedule appts for clients, you should keep track of them and notify them of changes. It's common courtesy and customer service! I do not live in the area to know about the flooding nor do I have social media to have known what was going on. I was also in contact with you through text and email, which you could have contacted me about the changes. read more

I contacted Red Art after reading the reviews and from the very beginning till the tattoo was complete was a wonderful experience. My son, who is autistic wanted a tattoo to honor his dog that he got as a child. Em answered all l my emails and questions and assured me Brandon would be patient with him and make it a great experience. She didn't lie. I went in to see Emily today for a nose piercing change. My appointment was at 12:45 pm. I was a bit disgruntled when she came out to tell me she was running 20 minutes behind (for two reasons - 1) she has quite the policy for late appointment arrivals so I was sure to be on time, and 2) I took a 'quick break' from work for this !5 minute appointment). When all was said and done, I will definitely return to Emily for future piercing changes and/or additional piercings. She looked at my cartilage piercings that were done in February and told me how to take care of them going forward (all piercings were done in a different studio, not with Emily). She walked me through the nose piercing change, and was very helpful and educational. My only suggestion would be to notify your next appointment when you're running late. I'll definitely be back! A tattoo is a big commitment so to find an artist that can take a vague idea and turn it into more than you imagined is talent. Brandon has completed two of my tattoos, one in progress, and one cover up. I have been blown away by his vision (of my ideas), talent, and skills, I love each one of my pieces. I get so many compliments on my arm (2) pieces and leg piece, from patients, colleagues, and strangers. I have not received a piercing from Emily, yet. When my daughter has a week off from school we will be making an appointment to get a piercing together. I have listened to her explain what is to be expected and how to care for a new piercing. My daughter is 12 so she needs step by step instructions (not by her mother). Lastly, the facility is clean and wrapped to keep fluids from transferring elsewhere. Great tattoo artist, knows what he's talking about. He was able to explain things to me in the consultation so I felt like the tattoo would come out the way I wanted it, and it did. All I need to say is this place is AMAZING!! I'd like to elaborate though. Emily Jane was so sweet when I called. She made me comfortable and the odd question I asked probably doesn't come everyday. I had to have a mammogram so my barbells were removed. I couldn't get them back in the next day. Emily saved the day, she is so professional, so sterile, so sweet and I would recommend Red art Tattoo and Body Piercing to anyone. I chose a fun dangly 14k gold piece for my piercing as I know from a previous cartilage piercing that I need a more hypoallergenic metal. And while my ear anatomy doesn't quite make the piercing fully hidden, I'm happy with it. I'm glad to have had the consultation with Megan prior so I knew what I was getting myself into. Do yourself a favor and get pierced by Megan (walk-ins are allowed for piercings). Buy some saline solution here, tip generously, and walk away being a more decorated and shiny version of yourself.

I have never once had a bad experience. The piercers here are professional and great to interact with, the front desk peeps are amazing, and the shop is spotless. When I last came in it was with my sister to get her nose repierced and I wanted to see if my septum was still open. Our piercer was phenomenal. Luckily my septum was still open and he just had to put the hoop in - within about a week it felt normal again. My sister had a rougher time and almost passed out but the piercer was so nice. He was patient and talked her through it, gave her time to recover and caprisuns. We were both really well taken care of. I will mention that they require you to use their jewelry at first, which can be pricey. But the pieces are really solid quality and there is definitely a range in price. They do take walk ins and appointments both, which is pretty rad.

We went back and 2 out of the four were incorrectly pierced on a downward angle and right/downward angle on both of her left side. Our daughter is too afraid to remove the helix piercing to have it redone but has removed the lobe piercing so it can heal to be redone correctly in a month. No manager reached out on that day or the day after Thanksgiving until I called to complain. Apparently protocol is to have an available manager reach out the same day. Sage had not told anyone until after I called. This is a very unprofessional outfit. Make sure you ask how long the "piercer" has pierced ears and ask if any issues with anyone prior. Sage told us after the fact she had done the same thing before on thtee other occasion's all on the left side. Our fault for not asking prior. It's definitely worth the drive to go to Chandler Mall, apparently there are two locations there. It's where we previously went where we had no issues. Unfortunately we live further away from that location. Learning curve for us is to do due diligence in future.

She casually shrugged off the appointment saying I could wait or come back another time but the piercer isn't usually in this early (12pm). Why make appointments for when they don't have a piercer?! She said I could come any time though because "they take walk-ins". But do they? Because they certainly wouldn't have been able to accommodate any walks in for the next hour and a half till their piercer came in. When I expressed my displeasure at them not showing up for an appointment she made it seem like it was a common issue. She seemed to not care in the slightest to have wasted my time. Before leaving I went to look at their jewelry to double check they had the ones online I found. They did, but the price changed from $50 online to $80 in stores. The employees response was "yeah, our website is old and needs to be updated." That was the nail in the coffin of potentially coming back. They won't have my service, not that I think they care at all. I will also strongly urge everyone I know to not even contemplate going there. Very poor business and lack or service. Waste of time.

I just happened upon this place a couple days ago and walked in to inquire about a second earlobe piercing. I was impressed by the cleanliness of my surroundings and the accompanying serenity. Emily greeted me with a smile and after talking with her a few minutes, I knew I would go there for my piercing. Well, she just happened to have an opening in an hour. Yes, this "old" lady took it! Can you imagine that! Piercings have come a long ways since my grandmother pierced by ears with a potato and a needle threaded with dental floss! (The dental floss served as an earring and stayed in until my ears were healed.) Times have certainly changed. Emily walked me through each step and easily calmed any fear I may have had. She had a nice selection of high quality jewelry from which to choose as well. I was so impressed with everything. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciated the care, time, thought and genuine interest that Emily shows in her clients. She explained everything so thoroughly, offered suggestions, made adjustments based on what I was looking for, took the time to look at a botched piercing from Claire's on my 7 year old daughter who was with me (if you're getting your children's ears pierced, or your own, please see a professional piercer like Emily and DONT go to the mall) and gave me a plan to get her ears back healthy and not painful. Contacted Red Art via email, quick response and set up free consult with Brandon. Met with him a couple weeks later with pic of Juniper Tree I took, pic of Raven, pic of waning gibbous moon and pic of vegvisir. Told him how I wanted them to all come together. Then gave him the freedom to draw it how he saw it. Luckily grabbed a cancelled appt slot as he's booked out pretty far. Walked in for appt, showed me his design (perfection) and got set up. 6 hours with one 15 minute break. Unlike many artists I've had...he kept working through! He is very kind and professional and his artistic ability and realism can't be beat! Cost was higher than previous artists I've had in other states, but I promise you he is worth every penny. You do get what you pay for! Shop was exceptionally clean, little traffic as there are currently 2 artists and 2 piercers, minimal disruptions. Highly recommend! read more

The tattoo studio was clean and inviting. I was in contact with Emily up until my appointment and she was very helpful. I changed my design days before, and she was understanding and helped me sort it all out. Brandon was patient and took the time to know what I wanted before he began the process. This was my first tattoo, and I am extremely pleased with how it went! He made sure I liked the placement and how it looked before he began. He also made sure it looked correct which he adjusted because it looked just a little off to him. That made me feel more at ease knowing he really cared about not only his work, but that it would come out as perfect as it can be. Emily is an awesome piercer, very professional and informative. Emily has children, and is fantastic with children! My six-year-old daughter was immediately comfortable with her, the process was very smooth and skilled, her jewelry selection is beautiful, and everything is healing perfectly! Our girl is loving her piercings! Our family friend also had her helix, lobe and conch pierced with Emily, which also healed perfectly. The space is beautiful, sanitized and well-kept, a very clean, professional setting. She has beautiful jewelry selection for kids and stunning pieces in gold and natural stones! Emily pierced my double lobes! She was great and professional. She is very sanitary and knowledgeable. When I went back to downsize one of my lobes was experiencing some swelling so I tried to replace to the longer post by myself and well, something went wrong. I was in a little bit of a panic as I had the back post of my earring in the middle of my skin. I reached out to Emily and she was able to accommodate my work schedule that very evening and took care of my emergency. I have a very low pain tolerance and she has made everything bearable for me. I booked an appointment with Emily to get second lobe piercings and she did a wonderful job. She walked me through the entire process - picking out jewelry, sterilizing the pieces I chose, prepping her workspace, cleaning my ear, and walking me through every step when it came to the actual piercing. I had a hip to hip tattoo by Brandon and I just wanted to say what a GREAT experience it was. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo!!
