Do you guys do surface tragus piercings with a 90 degree barbell?

If we were doing a Surface tragus, we use surface barbells. There is a long flat piece with two 90 degree bends where we thread the jewelry.

I paid a $60 booking fee a week in advance, and was told it covered the artist's drawing time and the appointment slot. Yet when I arrived early for my 3:00 PM appointment, nothing was prepared. After about 20 minutes, the artist showed me a design that wasn't even close to what I had provided, so he had to start over while I waited even longer. After an hour of waiting -- including watching the artist step outside for a smoke break -- I left without getting tattooed. I then learned the booking fee was nonrefundable, despite the fact that the delay and lack of preparation were entirely on their end. If the fee is supposed to cover the design work, the design should be ready before the client arrives -- not started after check-in. What should have been an exciting first tattoo experience was instead frustrating and disappointing. I reached out to the owner, hoping for understanding. Instead, I received no apology, no responsibility -- just the implication that I was being unreasonable for expecting my time to be respected. Extremely disappointed. Within 30 minutes of walking in, I was sat in his chair. That day, I put another deposit down with him for another piece coming up lol My most recent piece here was with Aarin. He did my heart and dagger (pictured). This was another kismet thing. I walked in to go over ideas with Jarom for my next piece and saw this design on the flash design wall. I found this lovely shop via Facebook because the unique, one of a kind jewelry caught my eye. Once I laid eyes on the 14k rose gold feather stud, I knew I had to have it! I contacted Robert Wilson through Facebook for prices and was immediately greeted with all the information. Not only were his reply messages prompt, but he worked with me so much when it came to information, questions I had, appointment times and prices. There are so many shops in the West Valley, but I drove the 40 minutes to his shop and did not have one regret! Robert is just as friendly in person as he is through messaging! The facility is clean, bright and friendly and is easy to locate. His jewelry line is one of the best and most unique I've seen in Phoenix. He carries gorgeous, one of a kind pieces that any person, no matter what you already have pierced or get pierced, will immediately fall in love with and Robert gets new pieces all the time! I was in the shop at least half an hour visiting with Robert about piercings and jewelry before we even performed my left forward helix piercing. I have never met a more personable, honest, professional and informative person who does piercings and I have been to quite a few shops! Robert is very passionate about what he does and his business and every customer and it reflects in his amazing work! During the piercing he explains each step thoroughly and is very gentle. I had my right forward helix done last year and afterwards it was very tender and took a long while to heal. I had my left one done today about 3 hours ago, and I can't even feel it now! Nor is there any swelling! What a difference his high quality jewelery makes! I can't be more happy or satisfied and have already planned a trip back for several other piercings and also, a tattoo by his friendly and open tattoo artist! It's been awhile since I have had anything pierced. I know that I have been wanting to get something done, just nothing too extravagant. Rob, the piercer at Third Eye Body Art walked me through the process, start to finish! He helped me pick where to get pierced and with what. I was torn between my nostril and my septum. I settled on the nostril. It took me about 10 minutes to pick a piece of jewelry because there were SO many to choose from. Once I found a style that I liked, it took forever to decide on a color. Once I settled on the jewelry, he took me to the piercing room and walked me through what he would do. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I mean, no matter how many piercings or tattoos you have had, when someone is about to drive a needle through your skin, you get a little apprehensive. I am happy to report that it didn't really hurt at all! Between his precision and what I assume to be the high-quality materials he uses, it was more of a pinch than anything! I plan on going back in the next few weeks to have some work done on both of my ears. I have been pierced by three different people in my life. The guy who did my tongue was quick, but not a very sociable person. The guy who did my lip was an ass and it freakin' HURT. Rob would be the third and I will be going to him for all of my piercings from now on. He is also the only person I have been referring to my friends to get work done. One thing that also caught my attention was how clean the shop was. It was organized and was sporting some artwork of local artists, which I thought was pretty badass. I came into Third Eye to get my septum piercing. I came into the shop and the environment immediately calmed what little nerves I had. Tristan, the owner and piercer at Third Eye, talked to me about jewelry options, aftercare and what not to do. He then quoted me an incredible estimate of $85 which is honestly less than what i was thinking i'd have to spend. Tristan then went and sterilized the equipment while I sat and waited in the front area. It only took maybe 8-10 minutes before He was ready. The actual piercing hurt like hell but was over super quick. The piercing was exactly centered and looked amazing. I had funky nose anatomy and Tristan took this into account and worked with me to get me the piercing I wanted. After the piercing was over, we went up front and I paid. The original quote was $85 but when i was given the total, I was shocked to find that the total was $48. I was told that because it was my birthday, my piercing fee was dropped and I only had to pay for jewelry. I cannot recommend this shop enough. I will definitely make this shop my regular place from now on. The piercer, Tristan, made the whole experience as professional, clean, and painless as possible. I would hope that anyone reading this review would choose Third Eye Body Art for their piercings over the competition. I was very leery to take my girls (6 and 9) to the mall to get their ears pierced. After doing some research, I decided to take them to a tattoo/piercing studio instead. I called Third Eye Body Art to ask them some basic questions about piercing. They were very nice over the phone and immediately put my mind at ease. The entire experience was wonderful. Rob was so great with my girls who were both very nervous to have their ears pierced. The studio was very clean and everything they used was sterile. They even put on sterile gloves before doing the actual piercing. The cost to have the piercing done was $55 and the price for the earrings varied depending on what you choose. One thing to note, the earring prices they quote are per earring, not per pair so it is more expensive than going to the mall BUT it is worth every penny. We went to Third Eye Body Art to have our 5 year old daughter's ears pierced. As soon as went in for our appointment Robert was amazing. They take the child's body autonomy very seriously and made sure she was happy with every step of the process. Robert was also very patient between ears when she needed some time between ears. I heartily recommend this shop for all your piercing needs. They change gloves between steps. All the needles are disposable. They even use sealed sterile surgical gloves, not standard gloves out of a box like every other shop I have ever seen. Truly great business. read more

One of the worst shops I've ever been in. The owner, Robert, is horrible and doesn't know what he's doing at all. This shop doesn't even deserve one star but it's the lowest it'll let me go. I took my 13 year old daughter in there and Robert did nothing but try to flirt with her and stare at her like a piece of meat! This place is so unprofessional and the piercing Robert did came out completely crooked and wasn't even deep enough in the tissue to stay in. I wasn't totally sold on the first design and Sierra completely redrew it for me, edited that one yet again, resized it twice, and placed the stencil twice. I've had artists be annoyed by tweaking but Sierra was not fazed. She lives up to her IG bio of "Really nice". She was super accommodating in making sure it was how I wanted it but was also not afraid to say "Maybe not that position, it will look funny in the end." You gotta appreciate the honesty. It turned out perfect, I love it. PS - next chair over, the other artist was tattooing a client who was not finding her ribcage/under boob piece enjoyable - he was incredibly patient with coaching her through it. Props to him too!

I received a finger tattoo that, within honestly 10 days, had already lost almost half of it! called the shop, the artist who did it told me he "doesn't recommend finger tattoos" because "the ink will fall out" and that touch-ups would still require paying the shop minimum. Which stupidly, I had paid more for in the first place (Sweet that would've been awesome to know or at least advised on his "expert opinion") So.... I hang up and educate myself. Find out that yes, 100% there can be "fall out" IF the artist doesn't know their tools, the needle, the depth that finger/hands need to have in order to be done right. And stick Here I am researching what and why the artist failed miserably to do what he does and what this shop employs him to do! Left feeling like the responsibility had shifted entirely to me. finger tattoos can certainly be more challenging and may require touch-ups, but losing this much detail after only 10 days is ridiculous, I expect it'll be completely gone soon yet, 1) guy was happy to take my money to do it 2) didn't know how to properly tattoo hand/fingers. Not what I expected from an "experienced artist" Unfortunately, but obviously Based on my recent experience, I can no longer recommend Idle Hands Tattoo Shop.
