The class was focused on a few Mexican dishes, specifically Chicken Tinga/Ting De Pollo with gorditas and a number of side dishes. First we went over the instructions for all of the dishes and then broke up into groups to work on various different parts of the meal. The team was amazing. All of the ingredients and utensils were provided and they were always right there to help if we had any questions or had trouble finding anything. It was fun and informative and the food we made was actually really good too. We took home the recipes (and a few leftovers) and we are definitely planning to incorporate this dish into our normal routine. In addition to everything else, perhaps the best part is that at the end, we didn't have any dishes to clean! I highly recommend Third Space for a date night or team building event.

I cannot recommend this cooking studio enough!…read more Our visit here was a birthday present for my girlfriend, and we both were very excited about taking a cooking class together. Well, we not only had a great time learning a new cuisine, but we made some new friends in the process. The studio is in a private home, so the setting is very intimate and private. So, if you have never touched a cooking utensil before, you are definitely in good hands here. If you have, then this becomes an art in learning new and exciting foods and the history behind them. After the food is prepared, we all sit down to dine together and engage in conversation over the meal in which we all took part in preparing. Such fun! Be aware that the studio is BYOB, but the studio does provide wine glasses and soft drinks. We had such a great time that we are hoping to do this again soon. But I had a gift card so off I went. Patty welcomed me into her beautiful home ... a fire going and nice music, and I met the three others in our class, one of whom also came alone. A sip of wine later and I was facing my own naked bird at my own station in her huge kitchen -- on my own board with my own knives -- waiting to be cut up. Patty was so patient with me ... helping me hold the knife, find the joints ... and before I knew it I had six beautiful pieces ready to be prepared in 3 different recipes. We cooked every last part of those birds along with a delicious rice dish and sat down a few hours later to a leisurely meal admiring our work. We could have stayed there until the wee hours at her table, the four of us and Patty; we felt completely at home. (Except that she cleaned up!) She also does children's classes. My kids went this summer. She was excellent with keeping them all on task and managing her kitchen with six messy little ones having a ball. Oh --- and she does a Thai class ... that's the one I want to do next. I ate as much as I could. I left with the rest of my food in to go containers ready to serve my family today, and with the confidence to cook again tomorrow. I feel so confident now ... So, the shopper's conundrum is why pay a little more at a store like this, rather than just buy on Amazon. I personally buy a ton of stuff on Amazon, and I don't generally like most stores. But this is one that I frequent, for these reasons: 1. It is a thoughtfully curated collection of items. The owner is a professionally trained chef (read about her on the store website), and the stock here is all practical, high quality, at a variety of price points, and sometimes just fun. 2. The customer service is fantastic. The people who work here are all experienced in the kitchen and they have good insights into how to select and use what they sell. You can have a long, discursive conversation about the merits of one $5 item compared to another. I have found them to be exceptional also at recommending gifts. 3. You can hold things and see them in person, as opposed to relying on marketing writing and often fake online reviews. 4. The vibe here is a delight. It is clean and organized, easy to find things. Back to customer service, the people here are fun to be around. For example, I was once trying to choose between thermometers, and the person helping me matter-of-factly mentioned that the one I was looking at came in either red or black. I choose red, and she lit up and said "Yay!!!" and clapped her hands. So funny..... Anyway, this is a great place, and I value all that they bring to this store.

These classes are generally three hour hands on workshops held in the college's downtown Haverhill culinary school kitchens. Faculty have been friendly, knowledgable and helpful, and the food always delicious. Each instructor has the flexibility to teach their own way so it's always a new experience. Most recently I did a Thai Street food class in which our instructor, Ploy, walked us through making a rainbow salad (with carrots, apples and a variety seasonings), Thai corn fritters, red curry with chicken (served with white rice), and a fun color changing butterfly pea limeade. Our instructor was super professional and balanced learning and the practicalities or working with non-professionals just right. I felt like I got no real support from them they they didn't give me a chance to learn a lot of the basics that an RN should know by graduation. There was one Carol Nash, person, one of the instructors who was extremely unfair to me. She even admitted that she just didn't like me as a person so she decided not to give me a chance when there was an opportunity to learn; she would never let me partake in the interesting observations or learning experiences and that went on throughout the entire time. The instructors were poor quality not very fair markers, they would have their favorites. If I wasn't highly motivated to get my RN I would have never made it. And to top it off at the very end of the last semester when I was just about to graduate one of the instructors decided me and this one other student did not have good isolation technique The entire time we were in school they never said anything about that but then the last week of school they threatened not graduate me and this one other student because the instructor didn't like my technique.
